Offer Our Body as a Living Sacrifice, Serving Others in Love in What the Lord Would Have Each of Us Do

When we serve the Lord, we are serving one another in Love. Each member of the body serves the other members of the body of Christ Jesus. Since God is alive living in us, through the Holy Spirit, He instructs and guides each member to do what He would have that member of the body do for the other members of the body of Christ. Not all members of the body of Christ do the same thing. Each has been instructed to do the job assigned for them to do. Additionally, we have been given gifts and not all have the same gifts, and likewise each of us is a gift to the body of Christ. So we are told not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to. Romans 12:1-3
¹ Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. ² Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. ³ For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

Additionally, another caller had a question in regards to repentance. Repentance is used in the scriptures in regards to salvation. It’s not about stopping your sinning, as though you stop this sin or that sin. We are told in Scripture that the world’s sin is unbelief in Jesus [ref. John 16:9]. And that unbelief needs to be corrected. It needs to be repented of. It’s a total change of mind in regards to who Jesus is and coming to an understanding that Jesus is God in the flesh, who came into the world to take away all the sins of the world on the cross, and a new Covenant (new agreement) between God and man has taken place. Once you have a total change of mind in regards to ourselves (getting rid of our self sufficiency) and who Jesus is, we repent of our unbelief and turn to Him for everything. Jesus Christ is my everything. He is my very Life.
