Grow Up in Christ Jesus

~ Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual, but as worldly—as infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for solid food. In fact, you are still not ready, for you are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and dissension among you, are you not worldly? Are you not walking in the way of man? For when one of you says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere men?

What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? They are servants through whom you believed, as the Lord has assigned to each his role. I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. He who plants and he who waters are one in purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building

~ It’s time to grow up in Christ Jesus. It’s time to understand the deeper things of God. It’s time to go on to the meat and potatoes instead of being fed on milk. Milk is for babies in Christ. But solid food is for the mature. Today, people hold up so many things from a worldly perspective, that they don’t have a clue what the Word of God actually teaches. Many times people place their pastor or denominations on a pedestal, and think that ALL Truth is going to come out of a person’s mouth. News alert, we were ALL deceived by Satan and need to have our minds renewed by the Holy Spirit Himself and there is not one of us who have not believed satan’s lies. So, lean not on your own understand, lean not on the teaching of Man, but instead go directly to the Scriptures, and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you ALL Truth. Ask Him for wisdom and He will give it to you with grate abundance without finding fault.

Bible Study Books

Bob George addresses a caller from Gallup, New Mexico, who is considering divorce due to her husband’s homosexuality and mistreatment. Bob advises her to seek a divorce if her husband continues his lifestyle and mistreats her, emphasizing that she is not obligated to wait for him to initiate it. He also discusses spiritual maturity, explaining that believers should move beyond milk (basic teachings) to solid food (deeper understanding). Bob criticizes the King James Only movement for its narrow-mindedness and stresses the importance of quality teaching over church size. He encourages seeker-sensitive approaches while maintaining a balance between traditional and modern practices.

“Let me just let me just say a couple of things here. First of all, I have never studied out of the King James Bible in my life, and never intend to. It’s obviously language to me. I don’t go sup with people, I don’t be getting begat, and if I do, I’ll be gone. That is language that is antiquated to us. And so these people that want to teach a King James is the only Bible I have to say. Have you lost your mind? Because what about the Germans, and what about the Japanese, and the French, and the and the Italians? How are they going to ever be blessed by God, because they sure don’t have a King James version of the Bible, so that it is nonsense. All of that stuff tonight is King James only is nonsensical stuff that is being taught, and it does nothing but divide the body. There’s many, many fine translations. I have never studied King James, so nobody should be listening to me. Me, according to them, nobody should be listening to me at all, because they’re in a way that I know the Bible, because I haven’t studied King James. I used to memorize a lot of passages out of King James. It is easy to memorize, and it’s a beautiful poetic type of language, but it’s just antiquated for me, and I have difficulty of understanding because of the structure, understanding some of the things, where other translations are much easier, and so what has happened in this day and age, Michael, is these the King James only people have really, in essence, said that that translation supersedes the Greek. King James isn’t infallible, it was just King James authorized a version of the Bible to be translated into, into English, from quite frankly, most of it wasn’t even from Greek, it was from the Septuagint, and, and so those kind of things to me irritate me, because they’re so nonsensical, and so I believe that I have a pretty good understanding of the word of God, because in the final analysis, God had to reveal the meaning of it to me, regardless what I was reading it from, but they literally, you take, you take situations where, where people who are wanting to use that will say, see, in that translation it didn’t say God. We’ll go back to the Greek, and the Greek didn’t say God, it said something else, but it certainly didn’t negate God, or didn’t negate the Lord Jesus. And so they’re they’re coming up with arguments on these things that just absolutely do not make an ounce of sin, so that we can put that subject on the back burner for self, for seeker-sensitive churches, everybody’s got to kind of do what they think. I can’t handle that personally..” ~ Bob George
