Only Those That Have the Holy Spirit in Them Have the Spirit of TRUTH

~ We live in a world of great deception today, and many have substituted the world around them, as though that is where they are going to find all Truth taught, in a building, or some man, or some religious institution, or some denomination, or even some church assembly, and they Trust that over and above the Word of God. You will hear them say things like, “Well my pastor teaches this in regards to tithing.” Or, “My pastor teaches that if I’m not producing fruit of the Spirit, then I’m not saved.” Or, “You need to get right with the Lord, and repent of ALL of your sins, or you will not have eternal life.” We could go on with even more examples of the lies that are spread, but know this, this is the teaching of MAN not God.

So where does a person go to find ALL Truth, and how does a person learn to recognize the Truth and identify the lies of Satan? First off, a person needs to have the Holy Spirit living in them for Life. Second off, a person needs to start trusting in the Faithful One, who is alive living in them, to teach them ALL Truth from the Word of God. Many times we tend to substitute our learning of Truth, and understanding the meaning of Truth, with institutional learning, or our own understanding of things, or even trusting in a pastor or teacher to teach a person all Truth instead of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth who lives in them. We end up placing faith in a person other than the Holy Spirit, and thus we run into a situation where we have replaced one lie for another lie without even realizing it.

A man can teach you what the word of God says, and can even teach you what the word of God means to him, but until you are taught by the Holy Spirit directly, you will have a misplaced dependency on Man instead of God. So learn to start trusting in the Spirit of Truth who lives in every True believer today. Be as a Berean and be taught by the Word of God and His Spirit. Verify with the Word of God to see if things are so. Ask for Wisdom and knowledge directly from Him. And He will give it to you with great abundance without finding fault. “Now if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask from God, the One giving generously to all and not finding fault, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing, for the one doubting is like a wave of the sea, being blown and being tossed by the wind.” James 1:5,6

However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.
 John 16:13

Consider having a Bible study yourself and teaching one or two others the Truth of the word of God. Those with ears, they will want to hear. We have many excellent Bible study books that are very easy to use that involve simply reading the word of God and answering the questions provided. The answers themselves are right there in the word of God.

Lord Jesus, teach me the TRUTH of the world we live in today and the Truth of You.

~ Question from a caller: Yes, yes. I’m a new believer in Christ, and I wanted to know, I’m not a member of no church. But what’s a good church to go to, or like a good religion?

~ “Anthony, I can answer that in a moment, but here’s where I think the most important thing for you to do is this. And again, I’m going to go back to my my own personal experience, because that’s the one I’m most familiar with. When I came to Christ, I was in a terrific, legalistic church. I was in a church and in a denomination. I came to Christ when I was 36 years of age. I had been in church all of my life as a kid, all the way through high school, probably never missed a Sunday in college, kind of off and on. Then when I got married, I certainly wanted the kids to grow up and so constantly, Amy and I were in church. That church was so liberal. I never had a Bible. I never saw anyone ever carry a Bible in the church. I’m surprised the pastor did. Never heard a message of salvation. I never heard anything in that church. So I came to Christ outside of that church, through, through, through another ministry, not a church, but an outside ministry. And by the grace of God, I started reading the Bible. Immediately. I buried myself in the Bible. I couldn’t get fed where I was in that church, even though we continued to go to that church, but I heard nothing as a saved man any more than I did as a lost man. But I grew. I didn’t grow from the church. I grew from my own personal study in the Word of God. And so Anthony, my advice to you is this, right now, I would find a Bible translation that you can read that’s not obsolete language. And I would start in the New Testament, and I would read and ask God to give you understanding to the meaning of the word of God, and study and study and study and study the Word of God. Mark your Bible up. It’s not something sacred. Mark it up. Make notes if you don’t understand something, put a cross down there, or of some kind, and forget about it, because God says, My little children, you’re not ready for it yet. So if I can’t understand it, no big deal. I’ll go, I’ll move on, maybe a year later, you’ll get the answer to that question. But what I want to impress on you as a brand new believer, Anthony, is you’ve got the most exciting adventure in the world ahead of you, as you can be taught by God and don’t substitute, don’t, don’t get into. Point where you substitute church for your personal study of the Scripture. Supplement that activity, but don’t ever substitute for it, because what we do today is we substitute the church for our Bible study. And after a while, we forget about the Bible study, because I can go sit in church and listen what the pastor says and then kind and then kind of half believe what He says and think I’m growing in grace. You’re not, and so don’t ever sacrifice anything for your personal study of the Word of God. Now, as far as finding the church is concerned, once you start understanding truth, and it won’t take you long, you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can grab a hold of truth, because truth lives in you. Now Christ is the truth, and he lives in you, and you’ll be able to, therefore, go to different churches, and when you do, you’ll be able to discern who’s teaching truth and who isn’t” ~ Bob George
