There Are Many Professors of Jesus and Then There are True Possessors of Jesus
~ Today the world is filled with many false Christians everywhere you look. Many many people will name the name of Jesus, but when it comes right down to it, they believe in a different Jesus. They don’t have the Holy Spirit living in them. For they profess the name of Jesus but don’t possess His Holy Spirit living in them. They are believing every wind of doctrine today that comes from man. They refuse to exercise faith. They refuse to reason together with the Holy Spirit. They are basing things on their own understanding and bring up to themselves what their itching ears want to hear. And it should not surprise us that during these last days the Spirit of God is revealing the truth of what is going on. We are in a time where the tares are becoming more and more visible before the harvest. They are showing their true colors. Come let us reason together says the Lord. Most people will not reason (exercise faith) with God. Details matter on everything. Pay attention to everything today. Test the spirits to see if they are of God. And don’t be afraid to call it like it is. For the word of God declares what we are actually facing. And know this, that in everything take it back to the word of God. Do not place faith in what a man says (no matter what man said it) but in everything take it to the Holy Spirit in prayer. Have Him show you if things are so or not. For any man can be teaching errors knowingly or even unknowingly (and we have all taught error at one time or another) because of the lies that have been passed down from the previous generations.
~ They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us. 1 John 2:19
~ I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13
~ “It talks about in 1st John that they went out from among us because they never were a part of us. There are many, many professors of Christ but not possessors of Christ. As you well know Keith, our churches are full of them. And there are many, many people who are in that category professors but not possessors. And so when people fall away, if they’ve never been, in one scripture, it says that you can’t, you can’t come back to repentance because of their loss or crucifying the Son of God all over again. The reason you can’t come back to repentance as you’ve never repented to begin with, you can’t come back from where you haven’t been. And so if you’ve never repented, then you can’t come back to repentance, because you’ve never repented to begin with and changed your mind. We do know, we do know that in interpreting those kinds of scriptures that we know that the security that we have in a believer is we have an eternal inheritance. And we have eternal life. And we know that the reason that we have eternal life, and we have to get into the divine logic of why we know these things, is because of the eternal consequence of the cross. If I if there’s a sin that I could commit that would cause me to lose my life, then Jesus didn’t die for the sins of the whole world, he lied to us. And he didn’t take away the sins of the world. He took away some of them, but not all of them. And so I’m not about to be calling Jesus a liar, and saying that his work was incomplete at the cross. And if I’m not going to do that, then I’m going to have to accept what he said. And that is that God was in Christ reconciling the whole world unto Himself, not counting your sins against him. And because of that truth is why he could give me life eternal, indestructible life, is because of the only thing I think caused his life to depart from me is sin. And the reason that that cannot happen is because of the cross.” ~ Bob George
