Classic Christianity – Book of Hebrews P35 (11-15-23)

We Are Under a New Covenant Today by What Jesus did at the Cross

~ Be aware, that there is false teaching going around today that says the gentile world is not under a new covenant, because the covenants were only for the Hebrews/Israelites. These people that are teaching this also teach the lie that if you ask God for more forgiveness, that God will give you more forgiveness (but only if you ask for it). They also teach the lie that only Israel can be born again (for they don’t have a clue what born again even means). It’s a very subtle lie, that some people are latching on to this teaching, in that they are bringing teachers unto themselves what their itching ears want to hear. They also teach that Paul was to go to the Gentiles and preach a different message to gentiles than what was given to the Hebrews/Israelites. Nothing could be further from the truth. Paul was an apostle to Both the Israelites and the Gentiles and it even says that in the word of God by Jesus himself [Acts 9:15]. Don’t let anyone discount Paul as being only sent to the Gentile world. Details matter in everything, especially the Original words of the word of God. The new Covenant is for everyone today (Hebrew/Israelite and Gentile) and most don’t have a clue what a true Hebrew/Israelite is or what a Gentile is. Bottom line, place faith in Jesus and you will be born again of the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit will come and live in you forever and give you Life, life from above. Once a person has the Holy Spirit living in them, He will guide you in ALL truth. And he will give you an abundance of wisdom, simply for the asking. “Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5

If Jesus did not usher in the New Covenant for EVERYONE, then we have believed in vain. If there is any more forgiveness required by God, then Jesus did not finish the work on the cross. If we are not born again of the Spirit of God, then we are still dead and in need of life. All wisdom comes from God, plus faith (1 plus 1 equals 2), means an increase in knowledge, especially in these last days. Come let us reason together says the Lord. For Everything!

~ Now there was a certain disciple in Damascus named Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!”

And he said, “Behold me, Lord.”

And the Lord said to him, “Having risen up, go into the street called Straight, and seek in the house of Judas the one of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying, and he saw in a vision a man named Ananias, having come and having put the hands on him, so that he might see again.”

But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many concerning this man, how many evils he did to Your saints in Jerusalem. And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all those calling on Your name.”

But the Lord said to him, “Go, for this man is My vessel of choice to carry My name before the Gentiles, and also kings, and the sons of Israel. For I will show to him how much it behooves him to suffer for My name.”

And Ananias went away and entered into the house; and having laid the hands upon him, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, the One having appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me that you may see again and be filled of the Holy Spirit.”

And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. And having risen up, he was baptized, and having taken food, he was strengthened. And he was some days with the disciples in Damascus. Acts 9:10-19

~ “Chapter four. Therefore, since the promise of entering this rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you have been found to fall short of it. For we also have had the gospel preached to us just as they did. But the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard it did not combine it with faith just didn’t believe it. Now we who are believed enter into that rest, just as God has said, so I declared an oath of anger, they shall never enter my rest. And yet his work has been finished since the creation of the world. Or somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words, and on the seventh day God rested from all of his works. And again, in a passage above, he says, They shall never enter my rest. Who won’t enter the rest? People will believe you will not go in because of your unbelief. It still remains that some will enter that rest, will enter the rest. And those who formerly had the gospel preached to them did not go in because of their disobedience, they didn’t believe God. And therefore, God again said a certain day calling it today. Another day, when a long time later, he spoke to David as it was said before today, if you hear His voice, don’t harden your hearts, or have Joshua had given them rest. God would not have spoken later about another day. Folks, that day is what we’re living in today. It’s the day and the Age of Grace. It’s the day that went into effect on the day of Christ Jesus death on the cross ushering in a New Covenant where he did it all and said, rest and that folks. Quit plan religion and rest in what I have done instead of what you’re doing.” ~ Bob George
