Jesus Did What the Father Said to Do and Said What The Father Told Him to Say

~ Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son is able to do nothing of Himself, if not anything He may see the Father doing; for whatever He does, these things also the Son does likewise. For the Father loves the Son and shows to Him all things that He does. And He will show Him greater works than these, so that you may marvel. John 5:19,20

There are many people today that think they are going to be like Jesus, or try and be like Jesus and they are nothing more than hypocrites, pretenders, actors, but they are fooling no one. They haven’t a clue what it means to “be like Jesus.” Because the Holy Spirit is NOT telling us to do the same things the Father told Jesus to do. Instead, we are to place total dependency on the Holy Spirit, and allow the Holy Spirit to use us for the services that He wants of us today. And the perfect service is simply to make our bodies available to Him, moment by moment, faith from first to last. Allow God to live His live in and through you. This is your perfect service to the Lord.

And I know that His commandment is eternal life. Therefore what I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.” John 12:20

Bob George discusses the importance of personal faith and the role of the church. He emphasizes that the Bible does not mandate church attendance but rather fellowship and personal growth. Bob points out that the early church met in homes for fellowship and prayer, not in large assemblies. He criticizes modern churches for focusing on activities rather than spiritual growth. Bob also addresses water baptism, stating it is NOT a requirement for salvation. He stresses that true salvation comes through faith in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, and not through religious rituals or church attendance.

“Jesus said, I do nothing unless the Father tells me to do it. I say nothing, unless the Father tells me to say it and how to say it, how, not only, what to say, how to say it. And as a Father sent me, so send I you. So what is he saying? Copy that? No, he’s saying, copy my dependency. In other words, don’t try to copy my actions, because God isn’t telling you to do what he told me to do. It’s copy my dependency. Jesus walked in total dependency upon his Father and said, Go do likewise. So we cannot live like Jesus lived. We’re to live like God is telling us to live, and that is living in dependency upon the Father. And so trying to imitate Jesus is nonsense that is, that’s out trying to be an imitator, talk like him, act like him. We don’t know what he talked like. So the whole issue there is not to try to mimic the actions of Jesus, but to mimic the faith of Jesus. That’s why he came to walk as a man, that because God doesn’t need to walk by faith, but he did, and why he did was to teach me how he wants me to walk, and how he wants me to walk, is by faith in his Father. So quit trying to imitate the actions and we imitate, hopefully, the faith. Do we do that all the time? No, if you think that you’re doing it read first Corinthians 13 on what love is that he said is the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love and to put an I am always to the definition of love. I am always patient, I’m always kind, I’m always good, I never keep records of wrong. I’m not proud. That would be a good one to listen to and all of those type of things and see how are you doing? And the whole issue is you’re not doing very well. And the reason for it is we’re trying to imitate instead of live in dependency upon Christ. Jana, I hope that helps. That’s what you called for.
