Feed the Sheep With Truth ~ Be a Sharer of TRUTH

Jesus is praying here so that we hear and understand TRUTH ~ “Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also sent them into the world; and for them I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.” John 17:17-19

~ When people hear Truth today, it upsets them. For the Truth of the Word of God, is sharper than any two edged sword. It makes a person think. It cuts to the heart. And many times when people hear Truth it upsets them, because they are thrown all out of whack. Most people don’t like hearing Truth. They don’t like hearing that they are NOT righteous in and of themselves. They want to think that they are basically good people. We hear that many times over our lifetimes, that such and such is basically a good person. Or people will say, “look for the good in people,” as though self-righteousness is to be promoted in themselves and others. But Jesus said “Only God is Good.” And there in is the TRUTH of the word of God. We don’t like hearing that we are NOT good in God’s sight based on the things we do or don’t do. Yet if a person doesn’t hear Truth, they will never come to the knowledge of Truth and thus be saved. Because they will be content to go on their way, and think they are acceptable in the sight of God, based on the things they do or don’t do, because that is what their religion told them.

Now how loving is that to NOT share Truth with a person? How loving is it to go along with Satan’s lies that there are basically good people in the world? How loving is it to be tolerant of lifestyles and everything else under the sun, and NOT call them for what they are, SIN? How loving is it to continue allowing a child of God to be caught up in Satan’s lies? How loving is it to NOT feed the sheep with TRUTH?

Most people haven’t a clue what Love really is. Love starts out with Truth. Jesus God is Truth and Love. And yet Jesus upset lots and lots of people, many many times, and even to the point where they crucified him. Imagine that, God is Love, God is Truth and they crucified Love and Truth. People do the same today with both Truth and Love. And yet we think we will be loved by the world. How much sense does that make? Is that what Jesus said about us who are in Christ Jesus? Did He say that we would be loved by the world? No He did NOT. He said that the world would hate us. “Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil because of the Son of Man.” Luke 6:22 “If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first.” John 15:18 We think that we are NOT supposed to say what the word of God says in regards to Man being wicked, and simply speak of God’s love. But here is the thing, the word of God speaks about Man, and about God. And if we are not willing to come to the knowledge of truth about Man, how can we ever come to the knowledge of TRUTH about God?

“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

So folks, when sharing Truth, do not think that everything is going to be hunky-dory and lovey-dovey when you share Truth with people, including when sharing TRUTH with the sheep, because the sheep as well as the rest of the world are brainwashed today. First off, for those that are NOT in Christ Jesus, they need to see their Sinfulness, and that right there is going to cause some issues with many people, because they won’t like hearing it. And today, because Satan has deceived All the Nations of the world, and Satan is indeed “god of this world,” FACT directly from the word of God (reference: 2 Corinthians 4:4), and has covered over a multitude of sins and has declared that it is NOT sin, with all that we see going on in the world, people don’t really want to hear Truth. And it is staring everyone in the face, more wicked than most imagine, on television programs, news casts, Internet, movies, sports, music, radio, politics, advertisements, work places, schools, and even in most churches today and certainly ALL big box churches are filled with the lies of Satan as being okay for people today. And we are not talking about legalism here folks. We are talking about those that are selling the lies of Satan, and it is all around us in our faces. Those with eyes to see and ears to hear can see and hear Truth being shown to them directly by the Holy Spirit.

So you must start with Truth on ALL things. That is the most important point. For without Truth, it is still a lie. And if a person doesn’t know their sinfulness and the sinfulness of the world, what would they need Jesus for? After all, everyone is basically “good” in their mind. So if you are going to feed the sheep, and witness to the lost, it has to ALWAYS begin with Truth. Man is physically born wicked. Only God is Righteous. TRUTH.

Consider having a Bible study yourself and teaching one or two others the Truth of the word of God. Those with ears, they will want to hear. We have many excellent Bible study books that are very easy to use that involve simply reading the word of God and answering the questions provided. The answers themselves are right there in the word of God.

Lord Jesus, teach me the TRUTH of the world we live in today and the Truth of You.

~ “What we’ve done is everybody wants to be tolerant. Everyone wants to be loving without being truthful. And you cannot be loving and tell people lies. If Jesus is full of grace and of truth, then the most loving thing that you and I can do, if we’re filled with Jesus, is to communicate truth in regard to the grace of God that has been given to us in Christ, Jesus that eliminates salvation by works, that eliminates salvation by anyone else, except the one who claimed to be the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE that eliminates bringing in any other prophet besides Jesus Christ, who was God himself. And so again, by just merely saying, Why is a person a Muslim? Because he believes the teaching of Muhammad. That’s why he’s called a Muslim in called a Muslim because he was born one, any more than we’re called a Christian because we’re born one, we’re not born one. We’re born a Christian because we either go to a Christian church, or a mom and dad were Christians, or we’ve truly come to be born again as a Christian. And the same thing is true the Muslim. Or why is a Muslim a Muslim because he believes the teaching of Mohammed? Why is a Mormon a Mormon because he believes the teaching of Joseph Smith? Why is a Jehovah’s Witness, a Jehovah’s Witness because he believes the teaching of their founder. And so the issue is that if we’re going to as born again believers, if we’re going to be loving like Jesus said to do, first of all, we cannot love others until we have experienced His love for us. It’s not that we loved him, but he loved us first. And Jesus said quite clearly that if you love me, Feed my sheep. If you’re even my friend, Feed my sheep. He didn’t say to feed them with nonsense. He didn’t say to go out and to love everybody. He said, Feed my sheep, which is the most loving thing you can do for somebody. If someone is believing a lie, Roy, that’s going to send them to hell. The most loving thing you and I can do for them is to tell them truth that can get them out of hell and into heaven. There’s nothing more loving we can do for somebody, but we, we sit there and we, you see these guys on television talking about they just love everybody, and they have 20, 40,000 people just loving everybody. Well, what have they done? Watered down the gospel, so there’s no truth in it, and therefore you can just gather all kinds of people who want their ears tickled. Well, when you begin to teach the truth, then you’re called a bigot, or you’re called that you’re not tolerant, and all of those type of things. But nevertheless. Yes, that’s exactly what Christ, Jesus has commissioned us to do, go into the world and to feed his sheep.” ~ Bob George
