Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P487 (10-31-19)
Bob answers the common questions that are asked today. Many times people attend a certain denomination but do not check out if what is being taught is true. If you are born again, you have the Holy Spirit living in you. So now, you have the mind of Christ and can discern the things of God. But do you read God’s word so that your mind can be renewed? How do you know if Bob George, or whoever you listen to, is teaching you correctly? How do you know if your pastor or Sunday school or denominational persuasion is teaching you correctly? You cannot know if you do not open up the word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you.
Many times we will let our children see something on television, listening to some self proclaimed experts, who proclaim things as if they are true. A parent came home to find out his 14 year old son being taken in on someone speaking from the gospel of Judas. First of all, we do not know who wrote the book of Judas. He certainly was not an apostle … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Nick from Loredo, TX
Nick: I was listening to someone preach the other day. He said you cannot be a cafeteria Christian. What he meant was that you cannot be a Christian that just picks and chooses scriptures and live accordingly. It is either all of the scripture or none of them.
Bob: Well, that is not true. You certainly do not want to be living under the Old Covenant when it has been replaced by the New Covenant. I do not know what his theology is. Let us take two scenarios. If he is saying that we are just as much under the Old Covenant as the New Covenant, then that person is out to lunch. If the Jews could not live under the Old Covenant, we cannot live under it either. That is why God came to replace the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant is obsolete, old and aging and will soon disappear. We do not live under the Old Covenant. We live under the New Covenant.
Hebrews 8:13 13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated
Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 76 (09-24-19)
Bob George continues sharing from the 16th chapter of John. Jesus came to speak truth into the hearts of men. Sadly, even today, not everyone receives truth. The Jews today deny Jesus is the Messiah. They rejected him as the promised Messiah, whom the prophets told was to come into this world to take away sins. Most Jews today do not even know the bible. They hardly know anything except the Passover and things you celebrate, but nothing about Moses, yet they all agree that Jesus is not God. You have the Muslims who would rather believe Mohammad over the words of Jesus, and even think they are doing a service to God by killing Jews and Christians. You have the atheist, who is a fool, saying there is no God. You have the mystics who say that truth does not really matter. “Just love one another”, they say, yet fail to realize that it is impossible to love perfectly as God demonstrated His love to us. Then you have the Catholics, who would rather trust their traditions and what the pope has to say, who deny the finality … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Rainey from Albany, NY
Rainey: I am reading Classic Christianity, and calling the number at the end of the book. I am dealing with depression. I have had a very difficult childhood, with divorce. I thought I got over most of the stuff. I was always religious, a Catholic growing up, and thought I would become a nun. I think anti-depressants help. I get messages that I do not have enough faith.
Bob: Let me see if I can help you. If you have depression, I can help you with that. Psychiatric patients are like that because they are obsessed with the past or the future. The first thing you have to understand is that God created you that our feelings will predictably respond to what you are thinking. As an example, “Have you ever felt the emotion of jealousy? What were you thinking? Jealous thoughts. That is why we are feeling thoughts of jealousy. Are we together?
Rainey: Yes. It is hard to keep a thought from entering.
Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P428 (4-04-19)
Bob George, on the air with the original People to People ministries, answers questions by callers from across the country on real life issues as well as the common questions. Andrew from Lubbock, Texas asked about the meaning of the head covering for a woman in the passage of scripture in 1 Corinthians 11. Bob answered what he knew from a translation or footnote in a translation that provided information that makes some of that passage more easily understood in its context of the day the letter was written. In that culture, the Gentile were very heathen, and had idols made of stone and sexual goddesses with temple prostitutes. The prostitutes in those days wore short hair or had their heads shaved. From bob’s understanding, a woman who came out of that sinful lifestyle and is now a believer may still have her head shaved and if she does not want to be identified with the “shorn” woman, that is, the prostitutes, she should have a head covering until the time her grows out. As far as other things in that passage, such as “because of the angels”, he did not … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
