Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P693 (12-09-21)
How to Live by Faith
We often hear stories that when a person comes to Christ Jesus, and becomes a believer, that everything will be peaches and cream in their life. There are people that will teach you all kinds of lies in regards to worldly wealth or think and grow rich, as though Jesus is the name it and claim it, the go to God for everything in this life to be happy, wealthy and wise, and everyone will just love you for being a Christian. However, if a person is a witness for Christ Jesus, they may face persecution from the world. But fear not, for Jesus who is alive living in you, is greater than he that is in the world.
The first caller, Bob called from Denver Colorado. He became a Christian and lost all of his secular friends. He also lost a job, due to timing issues. He was feeling a bit down and wanted to be pointed in the right direction with some scripture verses.
Bob George shares some key verses of scripture and points to Truth.
John 16:33
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
1 John 4:4
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
Two key points from these verses show us that when we are in Christ Jesus, we will face trouble and tribulation, and yet we can be sure of that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
An additional point that Bob makes is many times we think these things are coming upon us because we are now a Christian. Yet it’s entirely possible that we would have faced trouble in this life even if we were not a Christian. But here is a key point, Jesus is now living in you through the Holy Spirit, and will comfort you in your time of need to get through the difficulties of life. Christians and non Christians alike both lose jobs. Now there may be situations where we face persecution for our faith, and He is right there with us. He is living in us and through us. He loves us perfectly and will never leave nor forsake us. We walk in obedience to him, by trusting in Him moment by moment of our day.
Don’t let fear drive you. That fear is not coming from God. It is being put in our heads through outside forces to take our focus off of Jesus and place it on ourselves or our situations in life.
Hebrews 11:6
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Romans 8:31
31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

The second caller, Aaron called from Denver Colorado in regards to being single, married and sex in marriage. Very interesting insights.

The third caller, Linda called Palm City, Florida. She lost both of her parents and she is so full of grief and is fearful of the situation. Bob clarifies to her and comforts her with Truth. She is feeling overwhelmed.
We all tend to focus on our fears. And these fears are not from God. Everything will get done in due time. Perfect love casts away all fear [1 John 4:18]. Rest in Jesus and not our fears. Thank God for what you have and don’t focus on the fears that are put there by the devil.

Another caller Jacob called from Sugar Creek Missouri. He wanted to know about anger being a response to fear. Anger is many times fear in disguise. We have fears about many things that come out as anger.
