Classic Christianity – The Book of John P69 (07-12-23)

Rejoice in the Lord Always, And Again I say Rejoice!

~ Today, when you hear the voice of Holy Spirit, He reminds us, teaches us, instructs us on the things of God, about the truth of the world and about ALL things. And once we have a proper understanding of our identity in Christ Jesus and the Finality of the cross, we can’t help but to rejoice in the Lord always! However, there are many many people today that do not rejoice in the Lord always, for they have forgotten that they have been cleansed of all of their sins, and are listening to the teaching of men and Satan rather than the teaching of God through the Holy Spirit, if indeed the Holy Spirit is living in them. Most people will NOT tell anyone that ALL their sins have been forgiven by God, because quite frankly they don’t believe it themselves. The majority of the teachers today are used as controlled opposition for Satan. They will not rock the boat and do NOT speak truth. They won’t tell a person they are lost, and dead in their unbelief, because they falsely believe the lie of Satan that they should not judge. They won’t share the True gospel with people, because they themselves don’t even know what the gospel is today. They are teaching no gospel at all. For they still think that God is holding their sins against them. They won’t tell a person that they are dead and in need of Life, the Life of Christ Jesus to come and give a person Life to their spirit through the Holy Spirit of God, but instead will tell them the lie to get their sins forgiven by God. However, the person that knows the Truth of Jesus, and hears the Holy Spirit talking to them, they can’t help but shout it from the rooftops whenever they are instructed to, “Your sins have been forgiven (past tense) by Jesus at the cross!” Do you believe this? If so, pray for boldness to share it as you should, at the Holy Spirit’s leading. Faith is cumulative in increasing measures. And without faith it is impossible to please God.

~ For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. 2 Peter 1:5-9

~ Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

~ that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19

~ And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. Ephesians 6:18-20

~ But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

The Peace Of God That Passes All Understanding Will Guard Your Heart and Mind in Jesus Christ!

~ “Now guys in this world, there’s all kinds of peace. You can get peace by going out to a mountain stream with your fishing pole and have a day of peace while you’re there at the mountain stream. When you leave the mountain stream, you’re right back into the whole hassle of the world are you not? In get some temporary peace, partaking the drug probably it’s some temporary peace when the drug wears off, why you’re just back to where you came from. So there is a world peace. And then there’s the peace of God that passes, all understanding. Now if you and I are going to have peace in our hearts, first of all, we’re going to have to understand that we have been justified by faith. That’s where faith that’s where peace ultimately comes from. That is peace with God. And you have peace with God, when you understand that Jesus has done it all. Is it not peaceful and restful? That’s the Sabbath rest He’s talking about it. Is it not guys peaceful and restful? To be able to take a deep breath and to realize who I am. That I’m a child of God, didn’t earn it, couldn’t work for it. It was a gift that I am totally forgiven. Guys, do you see what this Christian world has done to annihilate resting? We don’t want to rest. We want to sing the song He is exalted, and I am exhausted. We don’t want to rest we work our people to death. I used to think of the day of rest in my old days. Down at my old church, it was peaceful. Get up at seven in the morning to hit the eight o’clock service. Drive 14 Miles sitting as the Sunday School for an hour and a half sit in church, zoom, go out and have lunch with somebody and talk about church, church, church, church, church, they’re talking about Jesus just church, run home, change clothes, get back for training union. Go over there train again. And then you go the night service. And then you probably have to go out so you can talk about church with some more people. Day of rest, I was exhausted. Folks, the reason that we do what we do here is because of what I used to do, and I was exhausted and burnout, working for Jesus. And I’ve come to learn something you are busy enough without me trying to keep you busy.” ~ Bob George

Bob George 0:29

And so Jesus says, when I go away, I’m with you now in physical form. But it’s good for you that I’m going away. Now, you’re gonna imagine the response of the apostles aren’t that good for us? And you’re going away? They said, Yeah, it is. Because when I do, I’m going to send my Spirit to live in you. And you are going to be by body here on this earth. If you were to look for the body of Christ, 2000 years ago, you’d had to go to Israel, and look up Jesus of Nazareth, and there you would have found the body of Christ, but he said, I’m going away. But my body is still going to be on this earth, but it’s going to be in a mystery form. It’s going to be in you and you are going to be my body. I will always be the head and you are my body. So I’m going to send the counselor. The world can accept him, the world doesn’t know anything about him. I before I was saved when I was 36, I’ve very seldom even knew much about Jesus. I had a cursory understanding, but Holy Spirit, you may as well been talking Swahili to me. World I didn’t know anything about Holy Spirit. The world can’t accept because it neither sees him or knows him. But he says you who are in Christ, you do know him. Why? Look at this guy’s, for he lives with you and will be where? In you. How many of you believe that Jesus lived with his disciples? How many of you believe that? Well, he said, If you believe that, then you’re going to have to believe that I am going to be in you. Because he said, he lives with you. And in essence, in a few days, I’m going to be in you, Christ living in you and me, our only hope of glory. I will not leave you. He’s saying, I’m going away, but I’m not going to leave you. I will come to you. Now, when did he ultimately come to us? What day was that? On the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came for the first time to permanently indwell believers. So he said, I’m not going to leave you as an orphan. I’m going to come to you. Before long, the world will not see me any longer I won’t be here on this earth. But you will see me because I live, you also will live. Because I will be raised from the dead, you will be raised from the dead. And on that day, you will realize that I am in the Father, and that you are in Me, and I am in you. I am in Christ Jesus. And Christ Jesus is in me. Whoever has my commands, and obeys them, he’s the one who loves me. We’ll see what those commands are in a minute just two. And he loves Me will be loved by the Father. And I too will love him, and I will show myself to him.

Then Judas, not Judas Iscariot said, But Lord, why do you intend to show Yourself to us and not to the world? And Jesus replied, If anyone loves Me, he will obey my teaching, My Father will love him and we will come to him and make Our home with him. Remember the passage to as many as received Him, to them, he gave the right to become a child of God? You must be born again of the Spirit. And when you’re born again, this Spirit I will come and make my home in you. Christ Jesus lives in you and in me. Now, he says he does not love me will not obey my teaching, he’s not going to obey what I came to do, when you ask a question, why do you intend to show yourselves to us and not to the world is because the world doesn’t want to see him. To the world, it’s like putting a person at the Grand Canyon. And having him say, I can’t see it. Well, why a turn around and look at it. The reason you can’t see it, you got your back turned on it. And you can stand in front of one of the most glorious sights in the world and never see it by just turning your back on it. And that’s the world, why don’t they see Jesus? They got their back turned to Christ, just like I did for 36 years, knew about him, went to church took my kids there and picked him up too, try to be a good father. All of those things, but I had my back turned on what Jesus said, I really didn’t want to know what he said, because I could always plead ignorance. My back was turned, your back was turned until the day you came to Christ. Might have been religious, but your back was turned on what he said. Religion is counting on what your denomination said. But not coming to what he said. And he does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own he said. This is just not my deal. It’s the totality of the Godhead. These words they said that I’m speaking to you belong to the Father who sent Me. All of this I have spoken while still with you. I’ve spoken to these things to you while I was here, but the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send to who? To you, in my name will teach you all things and will remind you of everything that I said to you.

Guys, that’s how we have our Bibles. Is the apostles who were the writers of the Bible were instructed by Jesus either through the direct revelation of the Holy Spirit or for those who are with him, who he said to them, that everything I’ve said to you, by the Spirit will cause to bring back to your memory. So everything we have in the gospels, as an example, was from the apostles, memory, not only their memory, but of the Lord about God Himself, causing them to remember everything that Jesus said to them. And then he said, Peace, I leave with your Shalom. I leave with you. My peace I give you. I don’t give you as the world gives you. Let not charge to your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Now guys in this world, there’s all kinds of peace. And I’ve come to learn something you are busy enough without me trying to keep you busy.

And you all have lives to live. And if you have Jesus living in you, where you and people are you and Jesus are, well I’d say that you gotta come to church and come down to the building on the corner of walk and don’t walk in there you’re in church. Jesus said we’re two or more of the gather together my name there I am in the midst of it’d be a little difficult for me to think that that wasn’t church. Because you are the church. You are the body of Christ, living on this earth. The Universal church is born again believers all over the world at the same time who are born again, not churchgoers, born again. And so as you’re working as you’re going out into the marketplace, who’s out there? You and Jesus, you and Jesus. Where are you going to do your evangelism here? We’re all saved. We’re just preaching to the choir. But you see, we do have that mindset that while there might be one who drifts in so let’s let the hired gun shoot him down on Sunday. And what he’s saying to us is, no where you are. That’s where you and Jesus are are. Where your work where you play, where you exercise, wherever it might be, that’s you and Jesus are there, you’re there together, and you’re aware of people. And if you’re in Christ, you’re probably going to be talking to people. And if you’re talking to people, you’re probably going to start hearing for in a very short period of time have to some of the heartaches that they’re going through, some of the trials that they’re going through, very difficult to talk to somebody for very long, that some of the problems and heartaches of life doesn’t start coming out. That’s when you start applying Jesus, and telling them of the hope that is within you. And to be able to express to them that I too, was in a situation like that, where I didn’t know where I was going, or where I was going. I didn’t know who I was, and how that on a day and time of history, that Jesus reached down and touched your heart, and brought you into a personal relationship with Christ Jesus. That’s where evangelism takes place. And so it is not my intent to work you guys to death. The reason that we meet here on Sunday is to help to build you, in your knowledge of Christ not so that you can come back for 19 meetings this week. But so that you can go out in your natural habitat and share what you’ve learned with the people that you’re running into. You’re already busy. But you’re already around people. When you’re gathered here, we’re probably gathered with a huge percentage of people in this room are in Christ. I would hope all of you I don’t know you all are good to me. But are in Christ. So this is a place to grow and be discipled. Where should evangelism take place in ministry take place? Out there, out where you live, and play. That’s where it takes place.

And so you’re already working. So I don’t need to tie you down with a prayer meeting on Wednesday. You can pray at home just as effectively as you pray in a meeting and I got tired of praying for it and Ellie’s toenails when I didn’t know Aunt Nellie or her toenail. Busy and barren, busy and barren. That was my life. Busy for Jesus barren inside. Till I finally had to come to a realization of what these truths are. Hold on a minute. If I’m a part of the body of Christ, and if Jesus is alive living in me, and if Jesus wants to work in and through me individually, then I’m gonna let him do that. And I don’t need to come and be a part of a sheep mentality we’re all we sheep get together and move at the same time. But to realize that God saved me individually, and he will use me individually just like he used you individually. I led more people to Christ as a layman than I did for my first 10 years as a full time worker. Why? Because I was out with lost people. I was having lunch every day with lost people.

I remember, one day, in my spirituality, I said, God, I’m trying to talk about you. Because I told everybody about Jesus, when I came to Christ, I was pretty obnoxious. I was on the trail. I just did I gotta talk about you today real spiritual. Went to lunch with a credit manager. Sat down said how things going. Not too good, Bob. What’s the problem? I got a kid, it’s on drugs and this and that. And I said, Well, okay, Lord, maybe one more day. Sat there and let the guy to the Lord. Happened all the time. If you go out and be available, didn’t need to do that in a group setting. That is contrary guys on you know, confession is good for your soul. It’s hard on your reputation. But that’s contrary to going out to visitation day, and picking up my cards to go visit. And then putting them in my pocket and driving home. And then telling people that the people are called on weren’t home? How many have you ever done that, you don’t need to embarrass yourself to say. Now in a lot better to just do what’s natural than to get involved in his activity. And all of us are going to be doing at the same time, same place, same degree of enthusiasm. You see, in this group alone, his body is all over this city at the same time. You leave here today, you’re going all over the place. And that means you and Jesus are going someplace. And that means if you and Jesus are going someplace that Jesus has an ability to use you if if indeed he wants to use you, in the schools, wherever, wherever it might be when he was ready to use you. If you’re sensitive to this voice of God, he’ll tell you when he’s ready to use it. And all he’s saying here is obey that. Follow up on that. Follow up on it. If he’s telling you to talk to somebody about the Lord. Talk to him about the Lord. Peace I live with you.

He said we ought to be able to live in peace, not with the peace of the world, but with the peace of God that passes all understanding. And then if I have peace with God, I can experience the peace of God you know the passage, Be anxious for nothing but in all things with prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. let your requests be known under God. And then the peace of God that passes all understanding will quiet in your heart and your mind. In Christ Jesus. Do you experience the peace of God? If you don’t, it’s probably because you don’t have peace with God. And that’s where religion comes into the play to try to strangle Christians so that they never have peace with God, and therefore never experienced the peace of God. I want to experience both of them, don’t you? And I cannot experience that when I’m going to be anxious. Now what causes anxiety? Thinking about all of the bad things that are going to happen to you tomorrow. Anxiety is an emotion connected with futuristic thinking or fantasy because all futuristic thinking is fantasy, is it not? You don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow, do you? You don’t even know what’s going to happen the next hour. I might decide to preach for another hour. You don’t know that. So anything we’re thinking about what’s going to happen in tomorrow is fantasy land. The only thing that you know about what’s going to happen tomorrow is that Jesus is there. If we’re in Jesus. And if Jesus is already in my tomorrow, then why should I be anxious about it? Because I’m not anxious in my today because I know Jesus is in my today. So why should I be anxious about tomorrow? So the way Satan strangles us is keeping us preoccupied with what’s happened yesterday, beating yourself to death over all the failures that you’ve had in the past, and wondering if God’s gonna accept you, after all the bad things you’ve done? What’s the answer to that one? What’s the answer? I wonder if God’s gonna accept me for all the bad things I’ve done? What would you tell somebody? It’s over? He’s already taken care of that. Am I right or wrong guys? Are we supposed to do something there to get clean? So we got to Catholics run into the confession booth we got we Christians keeping short accounts with data John, we’re first John one nine ourselves to death and keeping, keeping accounts with God and then wondering how my memory is. So just in case you forgot one while you did at night, we just say, God, please forgive me. If I forgot one that I haven’t confessed yet, then hope you don’t have a bad dream. It’s over guys. When Jesus cried out from the cross, It is finished, he meant it is finished. So rest, you’re never going to experience peace until you can rest in the cross of Christ Jesus. You’re never going to rest if my forgiveness is up to me, because I may forget one. Or I may be doing something that I haven’t quit yet. Have any of you have done that? You hear these guys send anybody who’s a Christian can’t continue in sin. I said to a pastor one time, how long have you been a Christian? 40 years. How long have you had a critical spirit? 40 years. Seems pretty persistent to me. You see, we never think about those things, just the nasty nine that I’m not doing, or the terrible 12.

It says in the Bible that that which is not a faith is sin. You know what the opposite of faith? Is worry. How many of you have never worried since you became a Christian? How many of you have never stopped worrying since you became a Christian? That’s pretty persistent sinning. Now you can call it what you want. Call it a healthy concern. God calls it sin. So aren’t you glad that you’re not going into the presence of God because of your ability to keep sin away? Because they’re too dumb to even know what sin is. It’s that which is not a faith. And how many times a day do we not exercise faith? Are we together guys? Or is there anyone out there thinks I’m just a faith or all the way? Don’t let your hearts be troubled? Neither let them be afraid.

You’ve heard me say I’m going away. He said. But he said, I’m coming back to you. Not to us, we didn’t see him go away. But we certainly have the ability to experience him coming back to us. And if you love me, you’d be glad that I’m going to the Father for the Father is greater than I. I’ve told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen, you will believe. Why? He wants us to come to faith, faith in what he has accomplished for us, that we had no ability at all to accomplish for ourselves. I will not speak to you much longer he said to his apostles, for the prince of this world is coming. And that does refer to Satan, not to Jesus. He has no hold on me. But the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my father has commanded me. And that’s where Jesus came and said, I do nothing. Unless the Father tells me to do it. I say nothing unless he tells me to say it. And as the Father has sent me so send I you.

You have people walking around kind with the little bracelets, what would Jesus do? And so we try to copy Jesus well, he walked on water. So see you on lake Dallas. He raised the dead, you’re gonna raise the dead? We don’t emulate the actions of people because God didn’t tell me to act the same way He told Jesus to act. Jesus never told me to walk on water. He says if you’re going to act like Jesus act on his faith. What did Jesus do? He walked in total dependency upon his father, that’s what you emulate. Not what the father told him to do. Because what he told him to do and what he’s been telling you to do. But we imitate his faith, we imitate his attitude, of dependency.

And guys, everything forms from our attitude. It’s As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Your heart is where the attitudes are formed. What kind of an attitude do you have? And he’s saying, I want your attitude to be like that of who? Christ Jesus through though he were God did not consider equality with God something to be grasped. But he humbled himself, even unto death, he became a servant. He adopted an attitude of servitude. We look at a servant as a secondary person. He said, No, it’s a greatest profession in the world is to be a servant. And I want your attitude to be like that of Christ Jesus, to be generous, to be loving, to be accepting, to be merciful. Those are attitudes of the heart, that God wants us to adapt his attitudes. And he says, If I’ve been merciful to you, go be merciful to one another. If I have forgiven you You go forgive one another. If I’ve been kind to you, then go be kind to one another. Have the attitude of Christ Jesus, so that you like him can do exactly what the Father has commanded us to do. And that’s to love one another. To love one another.

The only commands he left us with love the Lord Jesus Christ, and to love one another, as I have loved you. Those are not the laws of Moses. They’re not there. Those were the laws of Moses. But the laws of Jesus is to love one another. And he said upon those two laws, hinge the fulfillment of the entirety of the Old Testament. Love one another. And I said, come now and let’s leave. Next week, we’re going to talk about the vine and branch. It is the absolute necessity for us to understand this relationship between God and us, a vine and a branch. A vine is the producer of the fruit. And the branch is the bearer of the fruit in harmony with one another. A branch cannot produce fruit. A branch can only bear the fruit of the life of the vine. The best that a branch can do in human effort is to go out and buy some artificial fruit and hang on it and hope no one comes out and takes a bite out of it. In many instances, that is the condition of our religion today. sitting out in the desert, not into the Promised Land, hanging artificial fruit on us, and hoping that no one gets close enough to realize it’s not real. When you’re abiding in the vine, you’re going to be producing true fruit. The fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, long suffering. Against these things, there is no law. Those things can only be produced by Christ Jesus.
