No One is a Law Abider, Because No One Can Obey the Law

~ When Will We Learn the Truth of the Word of God?
~ If a person is living the lie of thinking they can obey the Law of God in regards to law keeping, they’ve got to stop pretending they are a law keeper and be perfect. For only perfection will do according to the Word of God. “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:48 These type of folks have got to stop being hypocrites, and repent (change their mind), in this key area of scripture. Why? Because if one believes they are a Law keeper, then what do they need Jesus for? After all, maybe they only need Jesus some of the time, when they do little sins, as though there are big sins and little sins. After all, that’s what the lie of Catholicism teaches. And Protestantism simply follows suit with the same lie. People will say to themselves and others, “I am basically a good person,” or, “he is basically a good person” and declares that God is a liar in regards to what the Word of God says about them. Faith has no part in their life. They simply want to believe the Lie.

So those who are boosting in Law keeping have nothing to boost about, because they themselves are liars and make God out to be a liar. And it is time to wise up in the Holy Spirit and call a spade a spade. Don’t accept the boosting in law keeping, but uphold the stringency of the law to others. Show them point blank that they are NOT law abiders. Allow the word of God to do it for you. Matthew 5:21-30 Show them that they are still under the law if they are trying to obey the law. Show them they need to place their faith in Jesus alone, for He was the ONLY ONE who obeyed the Law of God. That alone is how you uphold the Law of God. For everyone has been placed on the same level playing field, and God is not a respector of persons. “For there is no respect of persons with God.” Romans 2:11 He is completely fair with everyone.

Romans 3:19-31
19 Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those under the Law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be under judgment to God. 10 Therefore by works of the Law, not any flesh will be justified before Him; for through the Law is knowledge of sin.

21 But now apart from Law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, being borne witness to by the Law and the Prophets. 22 And the righteousness of God is through faith from Jesus Christ toward all those believing. For there is no distinction, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation through faith in His blood, for a showing forth of His righteousness, because of the forbearance of the sins having taken place beforehand, 26 in the forbearance of God, for the showing forth of His righteousness in the present time, for Him to be just, and justifying the one of the faith of Jesus.

27 Where then is boasting? It has been excluded. Through what principle? That of works? No, but through the principle of faith. 28 Therefore we reckon a man to be justified by faith apart from works of the Law.

29 Or is He the God of Hebrews only, not also of Gentiles? Yes, also of Gentiles, 30 since indeed God is the One who will justify the circumcision by faith and the uncircumcision through the same faith.

31 Do we, then, nullify the Law through faith? Never may it be! Instead, we uphold Law.”

Matthew 7:15-22
Jesus said, “Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’

Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’”

~ “Now, many people and we’re going to have to realize the truth of this. The Bible says that they went out from among us because they were never part of us. There are many, many people who are professors of God, but not possessors of God. There are many people who have been told walk an aisle as a kid and get your sins forgiven, folks, I’m sorry that. Is not salvation. That is not salvation. You’re telling a lie by telling someone to come forward and get their sins forgiven. When God said Your sins are already forgiven, that God was in Christ, reconciling the whole world unto Himself, not counting their sins against them. That’s either true or it’s a lie, isn’t it? When Jesus cried out from the cross, it’s finished, that’s either truth or it’s a lie. But don’t make truth into a lie. The fact is that whether you’re young or whether you’re old, when you come to Christ, you’re going to come to Him to give you new what? Life. And if Christ gives you a new life, that means you have a new life. It means old things have passed away, and behold, all things have become new. That means your thinking has changed. Why? Because the one who changes it lives in you. That’s because you now have a new invasion from God Himself living in you now for the purpose of renewing your mind and teaching you truth and setting you free with truth. That’s why, before you’re saved, you read the Bible, and it is a mystery book to you, like I say, you get to the begets and the begets, and you’re be gone. You don’t understand it. Why? Because the Bible tells us natural man cannot understand spiritual things. It’s foolish to them, but the spiritual man understands all things. That’s why, when you come to Christ, you begin to understand truth. Your whole mind changes. Your whole life begins to change. Old things pass away. Behold, all things have become new.” ~ Bob George

Welcome to Classic Christianity Radio with Bob George as we enter into Easter season, we are reminded how much we are loved and accepted by God. Jesus willingly died on the cross so that we could have complete forgiveness for our sins. So many people say that they were saved because their sins were forgiven, but that is only half of the gospel. Man is not merely saved by the death of Christ, but by the life of Christ. Romans 5:30 says that, For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his son, how much more having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life? Jesus came to give us life. He came to this earth to identify with us in our death, so that we could identify with him in his resurrection, join Bob George as he teaches us about the true meaning of the resurrection. Jesus Christ gave His life for us so that he could give his life to us so that he could live his life through us.

Well, let’s open up the scriptures and we’re going to talk again about law and grace. Guys, there’s not a, I think a more confusing doctrine, it should not be in Christendom than in this area of law and grace. It seems to me that over the ages and through the ages that what we have done is first of all to the Gentile world to go over into, in essence, whether we mean that or not, I do not know. But in essence, saying to the HEBREW people, well, you couldn’t fulfill the law, but you just watch us. You just watch our smoke and see how well we do, and went and grabbed a hold of the law that was given to Israel, never to the Gentile world, the law was never given to the Gentile world, and taken it and said, we’ll show you how to make it work. And in so doing, falling flat on our faces for 2000 years or more, and yet continuing to give it a whack, to give it a try, the law was not made for saved people. Before we can get into that, you have to understand that there are lost people and there are saved people, and there is a way to be saved and there’s a way to remain lost. We’re told in the scripture that we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law. So in other words, you are born into this world under the demands of the law, even though the law was not given to the Gentiles, we are under the requirements of the law and under the punishment of the violation of the law, which is death. So all of us come into this world under the law and under the penalty of the law, which is death, not a spanking, not being in and out of fellowship, as we’re taught. But it’s death. It’s stringent. God said the wages of sin is what? Death. And so we’re told that whatever the law says, it’s talking to those who are under the law, so that, and catch this, so that every mouth may be silenced. In other words, the law was given that if we’ll pay attention to it, we will never be in a situation of saying, I am a law abider. Because you’re not. No one has ever been declared righteous in the sight of God through obedience to the law. There’s only one person who ever walked in obedience to the law and the demands of that obedience, and that man was called Jesus, not Bob. Even though there’s a lot of us, it still was only to Jesus. We are not righteous in and of ourselves. We never have been righteous in and of ourselves, and we never will be righteous in and of ourselves. It shows us our unrighteousness. Now, how did that occur? It occurred at the fall of man. When God created man, He created man in His own image, in the image of God, He created man. Who did he create? You and me, or Adam? He created Adam in the image of God. But we’re told in the fifth chapter of Genesis that when Adam and Eve had Seth. Seth was born in the image of Adam. You and I were not created by God. We were born of mom and dad. Adam and Eve were created by God. We were born in. Adam. Adam and Eve was created alive, spiritually, soulishly and bodily. You and I were born alive, bodily and soulishly and dead spiritually. You and I were born in the image of Adam, dead as a hammer spiritually. Now, what does that mean? Well, it means the same thing that happened when Adam died on the day you eat thereof, you will surely what? Die. He did not die bodily that day or soulishly that day. He died spiritually. The Spirit of God living in Adam at his creation, departed from him, leaving him in a condition of spiritual death. And that is what death is, is the absence of life. The life of God departed from Adam, and Adam was now in a condition of spiritual death. We are born in Adam, dead spiritually.

That’s why, before you come to know Christ, you bounce prayers off of the ceiling. That’s why you try, but you can’t. That’s why, in essence, you really don’t have much interest in the things of God. That’s why you’re so susceptible to anything Satan comes along and tries to put on you, is because you are dead to God, very much alive to the world, but dead to God. Are we together? And so the law was given to dead people. Why? To show us that we’re dead. What does it mean? So that every mouth may be silenced in a whole world accountable to God in order to shut our mouths in regard to the fact that I’m righteous, that I’m HEBREW, so therefore I’m saved. I’m Catholic, therefore I’m saved. I’m a Baptist, therefore I’m saved. God doesn’t say Baptists and Catholics and HEBREWS. He saves people. He saves people, people who have come to a point in their life where they recognize what the Scripture says, that I’m dead and a dead man, in case we haven’t figured out, has a problem. It’s called death. And I want to tell you guys, nobody can give life to the dead, except the one who was raised from the dead. Buddha cannot give life to the dead. Mohammed cannot give life to the dead. Moses could not give life to the dead. The Mormons can’t give life the dead. Only Jesus can give life to the dead. That’s why this is not a religion. This is a very practical issue that God looks down in his practicality and says, You guys have a problem. It’s called spiritual death, and I have a solution. It’s called spiritual life, and the only solution to death is life, and the only life available to us is the resurrected life of Jesus. It’s not being dogmatic. It isn’t being narrow minded. It isn’t but, oh, there’s many, many ways to God. Well, you may think there’s many ways to God, but there’s only one way to life, and that’s through the resurrected One. He’s the only one who can do that for you. That’s why the empty tomb was the centrality of the Christian message. That’s why Paul would say, without the resurrection, we’re to be pitied, of all people, and they’re still in their sins, because it’s only through the resurrection that we’re going to receive life. So you got dead people, you got alive people, you got lost people, you got saved people, you got lost HEBREWS, you got saved HEBREWS, you got lost Gentiles, you got saved Gentiles. But the first thing we have to understand, there’s such a thing as being lost and of being saved.

Now the law is there to show us our condition. The purpose of the law was to show us that we are sinners, quit rationalizing that. Worry is not a healthy concern. It’s worry and it’s called sin. Homosexuality is not being gay, it’s being homosexual. A drunk is not being an alcoholic. A drunk is a drunk, and so quit calling things other than what God calls them. God says it’s not what a man puts in his mouth that defiles him. What do you put in your mouth? Booze, food, smoke, marijuana. You can put all kinds of garbage in your mouth. Can you not? He said, That’s not your problem. The problem is you got a heart problem. Something’s wrong with your heart, and I came to give you a new heart, and either you’ve never received a new heart, or you’re not listening to it, because I came to live in you, to teach you truth.

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit of God, is it not? And when you set out to abuse your body, you’re abusing what God gave you. Am I right or wrong guys? And I want to tell you something, it’s time that we as Christians grow up and quit acting like babies, going out and doing baby stuff, kid stuff, I’ll tell you something, we don’t have any business being anything except set apart from the world if we’re going to truly be a child of God. I had a strange thing happened this week. It’s what spurned this message. I had two calls. I had call from a son who wanted to talk about his mother, and the next call was a mother who wanted to talk about her son. The reason identified, it was the same city and the names, and so I took the son’s call first. He said, Well, I think you better. I said, it’s strange, but it seems to me your mom’s on the other line. He said, Well, I think you better talk to your mom first because and then come back to me because you understand more what I’m dealing with. I said, Okay, so I called. So we put the mother on. The mother was a little bit vague, but she was saying it’s evidently in the apartment complex where they lived. Something happened there that was strange. What I kind of assumed from that, I don’t know where the staff was list who was listening, where they assumed the same thing, but I kind of got at that. Maybe somebody thought there was some demon possession or something going on, and so this mother had called a pastor to come out and pray. Well, the son went ballistic. He thought that was the dumbest thing that anybody could ever do in the world. And I guess he just came and just just spliced all over his mom because of the this dumb thing of bringing his pastor in over some over, because you think there’s demon possession, and he had all the answers. And she said to me, the problem with this is this. She said it might have been foolish. I don’t know. It might have been foolish what I did, but she said, it’s very hard listening to my son when he’s smoking marijuana and drunk and smoking cigarettes all the time and everything else going on, it’s hard for me to listen to him. So I said, Thank you, ma’am. I’ll get back to your son. So I went back to the son. His comment was, Well, I certainly want to thank my mom for now exposing me to the entire world. I said, Hold on a minute. Hold on a minute, was what she said about you. Truth? Oh, yeah. Are you still using marijuana? Yeah. Are you still getting drunk? Yeah. You still smoking cigarettes and putting cigarettes down your lungs in order to destroy your body? Do you not understand that your body’s the temple of the Holy Spirit of God? Cigarettes going to give you cancer. Guys, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist figure that out. It’s going to destroy your health. I’m not anti smoking. Just stay away from me with it. I’ve smoked all I need I don’t need your smoke. I smoked enough in my life and coughed enough and wheezed enough and all the other stuff that comes from being a moron and sticking smoke down your lungs when the Bible says your body’s a whole the temple, the Holy Spirit of God, I ask somebody, sometime, would you walk into the church and light up? Oh no, that’s the church. No one in. It’s a building. You’re the church. How come you’re lighting up inside your own building?

Folks, are you a Christian? What do you belong? And you know, we may have half the attendance next week, because I’m meddling right now. What do you belong, altering your mind with drugs, marijuana drugs of any kind? What do you? What do you as a child of God? How does that fit in, guys? I’m not judging you. I’m not judging anybody. I’m just saying from a child of God standpoint, a biblical standpoint. Can you pull together, saying out of one side of my mouth, I’m a child of God, and I’m altering my mind. When Jesus said to renew your mind. Now, does it make sense to you? I mean, should you get down to the point? Would anybody in the sound of my voice not be able to say that that is wrong? Can anyone rationalize that say, Oh, that’s okay. No, it isn’t okay? Not for you. I’m not talking about for me or being judged. I’m talking about for you. It’s not okay. It isn’t God’s plan for you, is it? You? It’s not God’s plan for you. When you are lost, going out and getting drunk out of your mind. That’s what you do when you’re lost. Is that what you do when you’re saved? Is that God’s plan for you? You go out and say, Hey, I’m a Christian. Give me some whiskey. Is it or not? You see if God says to be set apart and again, you say, Oh, you’re going to kill all my fun. Folks. If you think that’s fun, just wake up the next morning. I know every one of those things except drugs. I’m well familiar with all of them. I’ve done them all. And like I give illustrations, I say, you know, when we’re talking about temptation, you could fill this room up with drugs, and it wouldn’t be a temptation to be I’ve never taken drugs. Have no desire to take drugs. It would not be a temptation. It would be called a temptation, but it’s not temptation to me. Now, in saying that, I also want to very quickly say that’s the only thing I can think of that that would be the case. I think anything else, I think I could say that would be a temptation. Now, guys, God, when you sing, oh, how he loves you and me, he does, but he didn’t save you to continue in your old lifestyle, did he? He said, If any man’s in Christ, he’s supposed to be a new creation. That means we start thinking differently.

This week was a funny one. Had another guy call in Bob Christopher had to take him off, off the air. He was saying to the fact that he just didn’t understand his Christianity. Said, I’ve read Classic Christianity, I’ve listened the radio, I’ve listened to these things, but I don’t understand. I don’t understand Christianity. I don’t understand what this is all about. And I guess Bob, when he took him off the air, was able to quiz a little bit more. And he said, Well, he said, to be real honest with you. He said, You know, like my girlfriend says I’m not going to marry you because you’re not a Christian, and so I’m not going to marry you. Why? Well, because the Bible says not to be unequally yoked with one another, but you’ll flop into bed with me anytime I want to. Quickly, joyfully. He said, I’m confused, and I say, No wonder, no wonder. Would that be confusing? You see, guys, the Bible says to us to grow up and to become mature and to start thinking like mature people instead of like immature people. Now, can the thoughts of those things in as much as you’ve been in the world, and all of us have been in the world, and all of us have done all these dumb, stupid things that the world does, and then you become a Christian, can those thoughts of the things that you’ve done in the past invade your mind? Or like I was taught when I was first Christian, you just pray, Oh Lord, please erase all these things from your memory. Thank you, Lord Jesus, and you wake up and hear the memories there. Again, guys, I want you to think these things through logically. Can you think of all the dumb things that you’ve done as a Christian? Okay, we can all think them. And if you can think them, can you do them? You can, so what’s, what’s the solution to this? First of all, we have to recognize who is putting the thoughts in your head, because God isn’t telling you, hey, you know, man, you’re a brand new Christian. Go out and get smashed. Hey, hey, Joyce, Praise Jesus. You’re a new child of God. Let’s suck down some marijuana. I will guarantee you something, guys, that is not God telling you that is it? That’s not God. You see, the things that the world said will satisfy if they satisfied, you don’t need to do it one time. If cigarettes satisfied you, you don’t need one. And I’m not on an anti smoking campaign. That’s not the issue. The issue is it’s not consistent with who you are as a child of God, that’s the issue. I’m not judging you. I’m just saying it’s inconsistent with who you are as a child of God. Am I right or wrong?

Now, can Satan tempt you with those things? Sure, can. I told a lady on the air the other night, and I said I spent the entire night with the dumbest thoughts going through my head. I didn’t sleep, I bet you I didn’t sleep two hours about two nights ago, just bombarded in my head, and I teach these things, it never entered my mind that was Satan doing that. I just sat there rationalizing the whole thing, just thinking through the whole thing, staying awake all night like a blithering idiot, instead of stopping say, Hold on a minute, who’s putting these thoughts in my head? Who’s putting these thoughts in my head? And the minute I stop to say, who’s putting the thoughts in my head, immediately I know who’s putting the thoughts in my head. It’s Satan, and that’s the time you tell him to go talk to somebody else, because I’m not listening to you anymore. You know, guys, there’s a lot of times in our experience where decisions have to be made, big decisions the day you chose to be married. That’s a big decision. Basically, hopefully what you’re doing is committing to stay with somebody for the rest of your life. That’s very big decision. There’s a lot of decisions we make, and there’s the decision that we make when the law has done its work and showed us that we’re sinners, and hopefully have shown us that we’re dead because we don’t see we’re dead, then We don’t come to Jesus for life, we just come to Him for forgiveness, and that’s not salvation. You’re kidding yourself if you think you’re saved by that, but if you truly have seen that the Bible says you’re dead, and death is the absence of life, and Christ is the only solution to that, then I don’t want to remain dead unless I’m an idiot. And so I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be my Lord and Savior, and now that process begins of him renewing our minds.
