The New Covenant Was Ushered in By Jesus at the Cross

~ At the death of Jesus on the cross is when the New Covenant was established. There are no more sacrifices for sins. And there never will be any more sacrifices for sin required by God. And Jesus, God in flesh is never going to die on the Cross again for the sins of the whole world. He did it once for ALL, for ALL sins, for ALL people. And now in the new covenant he is no longer counting sins against anyone. That is key.

So what does that mean for us today? Either you believe it, or you don’t. If a person doesn’t believe it then they are calling God a liar, and treating the cross as an unholy thing. To them, it means nothing. For if they truly believed Jesus, they would STOP asking for what they already have.

It’s time to wake up, and be a Truth Teller.

Hebrews 9:15-22
~ “Therefore Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, now that He has died to redeem them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.

In the case of a will, it is necessary to establish the death of the one who made it, because a will does not take effect until the one who made it has died; it cannot be executed while he is still alive.

That is why even the first covenant was not put into effect without blood. For when Moses had proclaimed every commandment of the law to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats,i along with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled the scroll and all the people, saying, “This is the blood of the covenant, which God has commanded you to keep.”

In the same way, he sprinkled with blood the tabernacle and all the vessels used in worship. According to the law, in fact, nearly everything must be purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Ricky from Mobile, Alabama, questioned the state of churches, to which Bob emphasized personal faith and discipleship over denominational doctrines. Paul from Fall Brook, California, sought advice on helping co-workers avoid hypnotism for smoking cessation; Bob advised against it, advocating personal willpower and reliance on God. Dan from Austin, Texas, inquired about the fate of those who never heard the gospel; Bob suggested trusting God’s justice. Donna from Granger, Texas, discussed her transition to a new church; Bob advised focusing on personal Bible study. Doug from British Columbia asked about women pastors, and Bob referenced 1 Timothy 2:11-12. Marilyn from Bloomington, California, shared a frustrating encounter with an overly religious neighbor; Bob advised avoiding confrontation. Nina from Albany, Oregon, sought clarity on the New and Old Covenants, which Bob explained as fulfilled by Jesus’ death and resurrection.

“Ricky, first of all, you weren’t here 200 years ago. So you’re really not in a position of of knowing what the condition of the churches were, and it really doesn’t make any difference what they were 200 years ago. The issue is, is, what is your relationship with Christ? You’re not going to change you’re not going to change churches, nor are you going to form one that is perfect. So you got to kind of get that into your head initially, that the issue isn’t to form churches. The issue is to go into the world and to make disciples. And so that’s a personal thing. So yeah, you’ve got churches that obviously do not teach solid doctrine. You have people that teach almost heretical doctrine, and you have some places, unfortunately, not too many, that will take a look at the word of God, not with the bias of their denomination, but with a real desire to learn what the scripture says and to have the Spirit of God, who lives in us reveal the meaning of it to us. Those are far and few between. I admit to you on that, but the issue is that I just don’t get involved in what’s Armenian and what’s Calvinistic, because in the first place, I really don’t care. What I care about is, what does the Scripture say today? And if people want to follow the teachings of Calvin or follow the teachings of the Armenian that’s their privilege. But I don’t want to follow the teachings of either one of those. I want to follow the teaching of what the Bible teaches in regard to what truth is. Well, the election is there’s a HEBREW and Gentile. That’s what predestination is. It has nothing to do with yous and mes. It has to do with the HEBREWS and the Gentile and anyone who can read the Scripture and read the book of Ephesians, it’ll tell you as clear as a bell what predestination is. It’s that God predestined that the Gentiles would come to Christ in the same way that the HEBREWS and that would be and that was by faith. So I don’t care whether Calvin believed that or whether the Armenians believed it, is irrelevant to me. I don’t want to be what I’m getting at Ricky is its intelligence, intellectual suicide to say I believe what I believe because of them. You’ve got to believe what you believe because you have studied the scriptures, and if you’re born again, if you’re born again, then the Spirit of God living in you is going to reveal the truth of the scriptures too.~ Bob George
