Enough is Enough of the Lies Part 2

~ Your Body is the Temple of God if You are In Christ Jesus
~ Flee sexual immorality. Every sin, whatever if a man might do, is outside the body, but the one sinning sexually sins against the own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, whom you have from God? And you are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20

Most children of God do not know that they themselves are the true temple of God. They have instead believed the lies of Satan, about building another temple, taught to them in early childhood, thinking that God is hacked at them when they mess up and have been brainwashed into believing other lies. Yet the child of God is always called a Saint in the word of God and a son of God (children ~ male and female referred to as sons of God). Never forget this: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:13 Stand firm in this foundation and don’t ever let the evil one convince you of something else otherwise. If you are in Christ Jesus, and He is in you, there is nothing you can do to cause God to leave you or forsake you. ‘Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.”’ Hebrews 13:5

Matthew 7:15-22
Jesus said, “Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’

Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’”

Welcome to Classic Christianity Radio with Bob George as we enter into Easter season, we are reminded how much we are loved and accepted by God. Jesus willingly died on the cross so that we could have complete forgiveness for our sins. So many people say that they were saved because their sins were forgiven, but that is only half of the gospel. Man is not merely saved by the death of Christ, but by the life of Christ. Romans 5:30 says that, For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his son, how much more having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life? Jesus came to give us life. He came to this earth to identify with us in our death, so that we could identify with him in his resurrection, join Bob George as he teaches us about the true meaning of the resurrection. Jesus Christ gave His life for us so that he could give his life to us so that he could live his life through us.

And I want to tell you something, it’s time that we as Christians grow up and quit acting like babies, going out and doing baby stuff, kid stuff, I’ll tell you something, we don’t have any business being anything except set apart from the world if we’re going to truly be a child of God. I had a strange thing happened this week. It’s what spurned this message. I had two calls. I had call from a son who wanted to talk about his mother, and the next call was a mother who wanted to talk about her son. The reason identified, it was the same city and the names, and so I took the son’s call first. He said, Well, I think you better. I said, it’s strange, but it seems to me your mom’s on the other line. He said, Well, I think you better talk to your mom first because and then come back to me because you understand more what I’m dealing with. I said, Okay, so I called. So we put the mother on. The mother was a little bit vague, but she was saying it’s evidently in the apartment complex where they lived. Something happened there that was strange. What I kind of assumed from that, I don’t know where the staff was list who was listening, where they assumed the same thing, but I kind of got at that. Maybe somebody thought there was some demon possession or something going on, and so this mother had called a pastor to come out and pray. Well, the son went ballistic. He thought that was the dumbest thing that anybody could ever do in the world. And I guess he just came and just just spliced all over his mom because of the this dumb thing of bringing his pastor in over some over, because you think there’s demon possession, and he had all the answers. And she said to me, the problem with this is this. She said it might have been foolish. I don’t know. It might have been foolish what I did, but she said, it’s very hard listening to my son when he’s smoking marijuana and drunk and smoking cigarettes all the time and everything else going on, it’s hard for me to listen to him. So I said, Thank you, ma’am. I’ll get back to your son. So I went back to the son. His comment was, Well, I certainly want to thank my mom for now exposing me to the entire world. I said, Hold on a minute. Hold on a minute, was what she said about you. Truth? Oh, yeah. Are you still using marijuana? Yeah. Are you still getting drunk? Yeah. You still smoking cigarettes and putting cigarettes down your lungs in order to destroy your body? Do you not understand that your body’s the temple of the Holy Spirit of God? Cigarettes going to give you cancer. Guys, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist figure that out. It’s going to destroy your health. I’m not anti smoking. Just stay away from me with it. I’ve smoked all I need I don’t need your smoke. I smoked enough in my life and coughed enough and wheezed enough and all the other stuff that comes from being a moron and sticking smoke down your lungs when the Bible says your body’s a whole the temple, the Holy Spirit of God, I ask somebody, sometime, would you walk into the church and light up? Oh no, that’s the church. No one in. It’s a building. You’re the church. How come you’re lighting up inside your own building?

Folks, are you a Christian? What do you belong? And you know, we may have half the attendance next week, because I’m meddling right now. What do you belong, altering your mind with drugs, marijuana drugs of any kind? What do you? What do you as a child of God? How does that fit in, guys? I’m not judging you. I’m not judging anybody. I’m just saying from a child of God standpoint, a biblical standpoint. Can you pull together, saying out of one side of my mouth, I’m a child of God, and I’m altering my mind. When Jesus said to renew your mind. Now, does it make sense to you? I mean, should you get down to the point? Would anybody in the sound of my voice not be able to say that that is wrong? Can anyone rationalize that say, Oh, that’s okay. No, it isn’t okay? Not for you. I’m not talking about for me or being judged. I’m talking about for you. It’s not okay. It isn’t God’s plan for you, is it? You? It’s not God’s plan for you. When you are lost, going out and getting drunk out of your mind. That’s what you do when you’re lost. Is that what you do when you’re saved? Is that God’s plan for you? You go out and say, Hey, I’m a Christian. Give me some whiskey. Is it or not? You see if God says to be set apart and again, you say, Oh, you’re going to kill all my fun. Folks. If you think that’s fun, just wake up the next morning. I know every one of those things except drugs. I’m well familiar with all of them. I’ve done them all. And like I give illustrations, I say, you know, when we’re talking about temptation, you could fill this room up with drugs, and it wouldn’t be a temptation to be I’ve never taken drugs. Have no desire to take drugs. It would not be a temptation. It would be called a temptation, but it’s not temptation to me. Now, in saying that, I also want to very quickly say that’s the only thing I can think of that that would be the case. I think anything else, I think I could say that would be a temptation. Now, guys, God, when you sing, oh, how he loves you and me, he does, but he didn’t save you to continue in your old lifestyle, did he? He said, If any man’s in Christ, he’s supposed to be a new creation. That means we start thinking differently.

This week was a funny one. Had another guy call in Bob Christopher had to take him off, off the air. He was saying to the fact that he just didn’t understand his Christianity. Said, I’ve read Classic Christianity, I’ve listened the radio, I’ve listened to these things, but I don’t understand. I don’t understand Christianity. I don’t understand what this is all about. And I guess Bob, when he took him off the air, was able to quiz a little bit more. And he said, Well, he said, to be real honest with you. He said, You know, like my girlfriend says I’m not going to marry you because you’re not a Christian, and so I’m not going to marry you. Why? Well, because the Bible says not to be unequally yoked with one another, but you’ll flop into bed with me anytime I want to. Quickly, joyfully. He said, I’m confused, and I say, No wonder, no wonder. Would that be confusing? You see, guys, the Bible says to us to grow up and to become mature and to start thinking like mature people instead of like immature people. Now, can the thoughts of those things in as much as you’ve been in the world, and all of us have been in the world, and all of us have done all these dumb, stupid things that the world does, and then you become a Christian, can those thoughts of the things that you’ve done in the past invade your mind? Or like I was taught when I was first Christian, you just pray, Oh Lord, please erase all these things from your memory. Thank you, Lord Jesus, and you wake up and hear the memories there. Again, guys, I want you to think these things through logically. Can you think of all the dumb things that you’ve done as a Christian? Okay, we can all think them. And if you can think them, can you do them? You can, so what’s, what’s the solution to this? First of all, we have to recognize who is putting the thoughts in your head, because God isn’t telling you, hey, you know, man, you’re a brand new Christian. Go out and get smashed. Hey, hey, Joyce, Praise Jesus. You’re a new child of God. Let’s suck down some marijuana. I will guarantee you something, guys, that is not God telling you that is it? That’s not God. You see, the things that the world said will satisfy if they satisfied, you don’t need to do it one time. If cigarettes satisfied you, you don’t need one. And I’m not on an anti smoking campaign. That’s not the issue. The issue is it’s not consistent with who you are as a child of God, that’s the issue. I’m not judging you. I’m just saying it’s inconsistent with who you are as a child of God. Am I right or wrong?

Now, can Satan tempt you with those things? Sure, can. I told a lady on the air the other night, and I said I spent the entire night with the dumbest thoughts going through my head. I didn’t sleep, I bet you I didn’t sleep two hours about two nights ago, just bombarded in my head, and I teach these things, it never entered my mind that was Satan doing that. I just sat there rationalizing the whole thing, just thinking through the whole thing, staying awake all night like a blithering idiot, instead of stopping say, Hold on a minute, who’s putting these thoughts in my head? Who’s putting these thoughts in my head? And the minute I stop to say, who’s putting the thoughts in my head, immediately I know who’s putting the thoughts in my head. It’s Satan, and that’s the time you tell him to go talk to somebody else, because I’m not listening to you anymore. You know, guys, there’s a lot of times in our experience where decisions have to be made, big decisions the day you chose to be married. That’s a big decision. Basically, hopefully what you’re doing is committing to stay with somebody for the rest of your life. That’s very big decision. There’s a lot of decisions we make, and there’s the decision that we make when the law has done its work and showed us that we’re sinners, and hopefully have shown us that we’re dead because we don’t see we’re dead, then We don’t come to Jesus for life, we just come to Him for forgiveness, and that’s not salvation. You’re kidding yourself if you think you’re saved by that, but if you truly have seen that the Bible says you’re dead, and death is the absence of life, and Christ is the only solution to that, then I don’t want to remain dead unless I’m an idiot. And so I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be my Lord and Savior, and now that process begins of him renewing our minds.

This young man, the first one I was talking about. Said, Well, you know, if anyone’s without sin, let them cast the first stone. I said, Hey, don’t use that one. Don’t use that one. That’s rationalization. We’re not talking about what somebody else is doing. I’m talking to you about what you’re doing. Because I said, Brother, if I didn’t love you, I wouldn’t be saying this thing to you. I love you and I’m wanting to help you, and I can’t help you by telling you lies, and I can’t help you by saying, Well, you know, if you’re without sin, cast first stone. So what do we have a right? I have a right as a child of God because I’m not perfect, but I do have a right as a child of God to tell you, because I can identify what’s right and wrong, that what you’re doing is wrong. And you need to grow up and quit acting like a kid. Not judging you, I’m just giving you advice that’ll change your life.

I had a friend of mine from California. He said he said he was sitting there one time in Las Vegas with a guy across the table from him. He was sitting there with a cigarette in one hand, a martini and the other sharing Jesus with him. All of a sudden, he looked up and said to himself, there’s something inconsistent about this. There’s something this just isn’t right. And he said he made a decision that day, and his decision was, this is the end of this. I’m not playing this game anymore. I’m tired of being a hypocrite. I’m tired of talking out of one side of my mouth and doing something out the other side of my mouth. This is it. And he says, the last time I ever touched a cigarette, it’s the last time I touched Martini. You see, guys, it isn’t that you can’t quit. It isn’t that you can’t stop these old habits. It’s the fact that you won’t, isn’t it? And some of them are more obvious than others. And I mean, as far as those are just obvious things that we can see. I mean, we all got stuff underneath the skin. We hope nobody sees. And I understand those too, and God will be working on those for the rest of our lives, but things that are so obvious, we should be different people. Shouldn’t we? We shouldn’t be like the world, but we are. Now, I’ll tell you something, guys, if you are full of pride, you ain’t gonna like what I’m saying. But I also want to tell you, if you’re full of pride, you can’t be full of Jesus, and so don’t say you got Jesus living in your heart if I’m full of pride, because God takes away pride. What does it say? What it come to do? What did the law come to do? Shut your mouth. What is a pride multiple bandage? Does he ever shut his mouth? He’s going to keep talking about how wonderful he is in the midst of how bad he is. And so you cannot say I’m just full of pride and I’m full of Jesus at the same time. It just doesn’t work that way, does it?

And so it says that that’s who the law is for. It’s for people who are under the law and who have no ability to have a life different than what they’re doing, all of these things we’re talking about, and I could go into many more, stealing, lying, all of these things that we can do and do do. But I want to tell you, folks, I think that there comes a time in a person’s experience where they have to say, enough is enough. Enough is enough. God, I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. I’m sick and tired of living a dual life, and I want to put it away. I want to put it away. I’m tired of living inconsistent with what I who I am. You see if you have to hide what you’re doing, then you know it’s wrong, right? If you gotta lie about what you’re doing, then there any question about you know it’s wrong, and to continue doing what you know is wrong is kind of insanity, and that kind of means all of us are a little nuts. See, guys, I’m talking to me as much as I’m talking to you. I’m not talking to judge you. I’m just saying that if we’re going to be children of God, and there comes a time when we’re going to have to say, this is not what children of God do, and I’m tired of doing what children of God don’t do, and I want to become a new creature. And I’m not sitting there saying, Well, if you know, if you’re without sin, cast a stone. No one’s throwing stones. I’m just saying there’s something wrong with me. And God says what’s wrong with me is my heart. And Lord Jesus, I don’t want to be walking around with a lousy heart, and I want you to come and to change my mind, because I am changing my mind. I don’t want to do this anymore. There are people who are plagued right now with porno, and there has to come a point of saying, this is childish stuff. I don’t want to do this anymore. This is ridiculous. Not a one of us are not capable of that. Am I right or wrong? It’s the issue is that God’s going to have to come a time when you say, that’s the end of it. I’m through with it, and that’s between you and God, that in between anyone else and anybody else’s business, it’s just you and God. But folks, what?

Let’s go over to the book of Ephesians. If you have your Bible, and I hope you do, turn over to the book of Ephesians In the fourth chapter. I begin in verse 17 of chapter four. You all got it? I tell you this and insist on it in the Lord that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do in the futility of their thinking, futile thinking, thinking things that are just plain futile. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God. How come? Because of the ignorance that is in them, due to the hardening of their hearts. You know what happens when you harden your heart? you become ignorant. You know why? Because when you’re hardening your heart, you’re hardening your heart to what God says, and that’s pretty stupid, isn’t it? When you think about that’s ignorance. It’s ignorance. You know, we don’t want to be ignorant. Be ignorant, but he says, you are. I mean, this is harsh language. You are ignorant due to the hardening of your hearts. The hardening of Your Heart Makes You ignorant. And what is hardening of the hearts saying, I don’t care what God says, I want to do my own thing. How many of you, you don’t even show me hands? How many of you have ever kind of in some area of your life, have said, I know it’s wrong, but I’m doing it anyway. Maybe let me just see your hands. There you that’s all of us, isn’t it? I know I shouldn’t be doing this, but I’m going to do it anyway. And you know what God says? That’s ignorance. That’s really stupid, but we’re stupid. Each and every one of us called sheep, and there’s not a dumber animal on the face of the earth than a sheep, and he says, that’s what we are. That’s why I had to come to save us. Having lost all sensitivity, we’re not sensitive to one another. They’ve given themselves over to sexuality, sensuality, so as to indulge in every kind of impurity with a continual lust for more. Guys it doesn’t get less when you start doing something you want to do more, don’t you? That’s why, as an example in the drug scene. Drugs are cumulative. In other words, you just can’t keep with one after a while, it demands you have more stronger stuff. It’s going to destroy you. It’ll destroy you. Destroy the very thing that God gave you. You, however, he said, didn’t come to know Christ that way. Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self. That’s what you were taught. You’re in Christ now put off the old self. The old self is going to kill you. Put it off, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires. Now, guys, let me ask you a question, is your old self still being corrupted by people, by deceitful desires? Of course, that’s a part of life, guys, we live with Jesus living in you. If you’re born again and you still got this detestable flesh of ours, don’t we? And this old flesh is always crying out for something dumb, everything the flesh wants to do will destroy you sooner or later. So he says, to put off the old self, which is being, not was being, but is being corrupted by its deceitful desires, and to be made new in the attitudes of your minds, and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness, not phony righteousness and holiness, but true righteousness and holiness. Now, guys, there is a part of the Christian life. We were talking about this as a staff before any of this started hitting on me, that maybe we’ve talked so much about how good God is and so much about what God has done for us that we’ve almost forgot about teaching what our personal responsibility is to this. I mean, we’ve got a reaction to these things that we should be concerned about, equally as concerned about what God’s done for me, should be then, how should I respond? How should I live my life?

And guys, unless you’re very, very fortunate, if you really just took your thoughts, the patterns, the attitudes of your minds, and if that was able to be exposed you and I’d be ashamed of ourselves a lot, wouldn’t we? But he said, to put off that old self. It’s there. It says it’s being corrupted by these desires of the flesh. It’s there. You can’t get rid of it. I told a guy the other day who was saying, Boy, just just help me God to get rid of sin. I said, then pray for death, because when that’s the only time you’re going to get rid of it, just pray that God will zap you right now, if that’s what your clue is, you’re never going to get rid of that. As long as you got this flesh, you’re going to have sin. But guys, if you’ll look at it with the proper attitude that my weaknesses and my flesh is what keeps me dependent on Christ, or it shouldn’t keep me dependent on Christ. How about you? You see, if I didn’t have dumb thoughts, I wouldn’t need to depend on Jesus, but he says to me that I need to be changed in the attitude of my mind. Now, guys, there’s where our attitudes have to come in, young people, old people, my attitudes of my mind to form a policy, an attitude. My dad used to say to me, I wish I listened to him more if you don’t want to have to worry about falling off a ladder. Don’t ever get up on one. That was good advice.
