Enough is Enough Part 3

~ We Belong to Each Other, So Serve One Another In Love

~ We who are in Christ Jesus belong to one another. Each of us is part of the body of Christ Jesus and we are to serve one another in Love. So put off that which hinders us. Put off that which causes our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus to stumble. Build up one another. Encourage one another. Be kind and compassionate to one another. Forgive one another as Christ Jesus forgave you. For this is the will of God for each of us. And remember, during these difficult times, people are struggling with many things they do not even understand why it is happening or what is happening all around them. And they are caught in the snares of satan’s deception big time. Because we were all brainwashed from birth to believe in the lies of the world. And this is why we ALL are having such a difficult time these days with everything. For we are being bombarded with the lies of the world. And help people to see that too.

~ For you, brothers, were called to freedom; but do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is fulfilled in a single decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you keep on biting and devouring one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another.

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians 5:13-18

Matthew 7:15-22
Jesus said, “Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’

Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’”

~ “Can we all just bow in prayer and ask God to search our hearts in those areas of life that we’ve been holding on to that God wants us to release, just to be able to say, I’m tired and I don’t want to do this anymore. I don’t want to be thinking these things anymore. Let’s take a moment of silence. There are people here in the room that have experienced marital problems. We forget what the Bible says that all we, like sheep, have gone astray. We all want to do our own thing. We become selfish, and we’re not serving one another in love. I don’t want to do that anymore. There are those that have habits that we know are destroying their own physical condition, and it’s time to grow up and say, I don’t want to do that anymore. Holy Father, we are so prone to error and so prone to think thoughts that are really not even ours, but we entertain those thoughts from Satan. And it’s time we grow up and gain a maturity to be able to read and to acknowledge where those thoughts are coming from, that the kindest thing that we can ever do for one another is to love one another and to be patient with each other and kind to one another, instead of trying To destroy in order to feed our own egos. You let this day be a day of change, a day when our hearts have turned back to you, as the song said, Revive us again. Bring us back to that place of surrender and let us start anew. Pray these things in Jesus name and for his sake, amen.” ~ Bob George

Welcome to Classic Christianity Radio with Bob George as we enter into Easter season, we are reminded how much we are loved and accepted by God. Jesus willingly died on the cross so that we could have complete forgiveness for our sins. So many people say that they were saved because their sins were forgiven, but that is only half of the gospel. Man is not merely saved by the death of Christ, but by the life of Christ. Romans 5:30 says that, For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his son, how much more having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life? Jesus came to give us life. He came to this earth to identify with us in our death, so that we could identify with him in his resurrection, join Bob George as he teaches us about the true meaning of the resurrection. Jesus Christ gave His life for us so that he could give his life to us so that he could live his life through us.

This young man, the first one I was talking about. Said, Well, you know, if anyone’s without sin, let them cast the first stone. I said, Hey, don’t use that one. Don’t use that one. That’s rationalization. We’re not talking about what somebody else is doing. I’m talking to you about what you’re doing. Because I said, Brother, if I didn’t love you, I wouldn’t be saying this thing to you. I love you and I’m wanting to help you, and I can’t help you by telling you lies, and I can’t help you by saying, Well, you know, if you’re without sin, cast first stone. So what do we have a right? I have a right as a child of God because I’m not perfect, but I do have a right as a child of God to tell you, because I can identify what’s right and wrong, that what you’re doing is wrong. And you need to grow up and quit acting like a kid. Not judging you, I’m just giving you advice that’ll change your life.

I had a friend of mine from California. He said he said he was sitting there one time in Las Vegas with a guy across the table from him. He was sitting there with a cigarette in one hand, a martini and the other sharing Jesus with him. All of a sudden, he looked up and said to himself, there’s something inconsistent about this. There’s something this just isn’t right. And he said he made a decision that day, and his decision was, this is the end of this. I’m not playing this game anymore. I’m tired of being a hypocrite. I’m tired of talking out of one side of my mouth and doing something out the other side of my mouth. This is it. And he says, the last time I ever touched a cigarette, it’s the last time I touched Martini. You see, guys, it isn’t that you can’t quit. It isn’t that you can’t stop these old habits. It’s the fact that you won’t, isn’t it? And some of them are more obvious than others. And I mean, as far as those are just obvious things that we can see. I mean, we all got stuff underneath the skin. We hope nobody sees. And I understand those too, and God will be working on those for the rest of our lives, but things that are so obvious, we should be different people. Shouldn’t we? We shouldn’t be like the world, but we are. Now, I’ll tell you something, guys, if you are full of pride, you ain’t gonna like what I’m saying. But I also want to tell you, if you’re full of pride, you can’t be full of Jesus, and so don’t say you got Jesus living in your heart if I’m full of pride, because God takes away pride. What does it say? What it come to do? What did the law come to do? Shut your mouth. What is a pride multiple bandage? Does he ever shut his mouth? He’s going to keep talking about how wonderful he is in the midst of how bad he is. And so you cannot say I’m just full of pride and I’m full of Jesus at the same time. It just doesn’t work that way, does it?

And so it says that that’s who the law is for. It’s for people who are under the law and who have no ability to have a life different than what they’re doing, all of these things we’re talking about, and I could go into many more, stealing, lying, all of these things that we can do and do do. But I want to tell you, folks, I think that there comes a time in a person’s experience where they have to say, enough is enough. Enough is enough. God, I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. I’m sick and tired of living a dual life, and I want to put it away. I want to put it away. I’m tired of living inconsistent with what I who I am. You see if you have to hide what you’re doing, then you know it’s wrong, right? If you gotta lie about what you’re doing, then there any question about you know it’s wrong, and to continue doing what you know is wrong is kind of insanity, and that kind of means all of us are a little nuts. See, guys, I’m talking to me as much as I’m talking to you. I’m not talking to judge you. I’m just saying that if we’re going to be children of God, and there comes a time when we’re going to have to say, this is not what children of God do, and I’m tired of doing what children of God don’t do, and I want to become a new creature. And I’m not sitting there saying, Well, if you know, if you’re without sin, cast a stone. No one’s throwing stones. I’m just saying there’s something wrong with me. And God says what’s wrong with me is my heart. And Lord Jesus, I don’t want to be walking around with a lousy heart, and I want you to come and to change my mind, because I am changing my mind. I don’t want to do this anymore. There are people who are plagued right now with porno, and there has to come a point of saying, this is childish stuff. I don’t want to do this anymore. This is ridiculous. Not a one of us are not capable of that. Am I right or wrong? It’s the issue is that God’s going to have to come a time when you say, that’s the end of it. I’m through with it, and that’s between you and God, that in between anyone else and anybody else’s business, it’s just you and God. But folks, what?

Let’s go over to the book of Ephesians. If you have your Bible, and I hope you do, turn over to the book of Ephesians In the fourth chapter. I begin in verse 17 of chapter four. You all got it? I tell you this and insist on it in the Lord that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do in the futility of their thinking, futile thinking, thinking things that are just plain futile. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God. How come? Because of the ignorance that is in them, due to the hardening of their hearts. You know what happens when you harden your heart? you become ignorant. You know why? Because when you’re hardening your heart, you’re hardening your heart to what God says, and that’s pretty stupid, isn’t it? When you think about that’s ignorance. It’s ignorance. You know, we don’t want to be ignorant. Be ignorant, but he says, you are. I mean, this is harsh language. You are ignorant due to the hardening of your hearts. The hardening of Your Heart Makes You ignorant. And what is hardening of the hearts saying, I don’t care what God says, I want to do my own thing. How many of you, you don’t even show me hands? How many of you have ever kind of in some area of your life, have said, I know it’s wrong, but I’m doing it anyway. Maybe let me just see your hands. There you that’s all of us, isn’t it? I know I shouldn’t be doing this, but I’m going to do it anyway. And you know what God says? That’s ignorance. That’s really stupid, but we’re stupid. Each and every one of us called sheep, and there’s not a dumber animal on the face of the earth than a sheep, and he says, that’s what we are. That’s why I had to come to save us. Having lost all sensitivity, we’re not sensitive to one another. They’ve given themselves over to sexuality, sensuality, so as to indulge in every kind of impurity with a continual lust for more. Guys it doesn’t get less when you start doing something you want to do more, don’t you? That’s why, as an example in the drug scene. Drugs are cumulative. In other words, you just can’t keep with one after a while, it demands you have more stronger stuff. It’s going to destroy you. It’ll destroy you. Destroy the very thing that God gave you. You, however, he said, didn’t come to know Christ that way. Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self. That’s what you were taught. You’re in Christ now put off the old self. The old self is going to kill you. Put it off, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires. Now, guys, let me ask you a question, is your old self still being corrupted by people, by deceitful desires? Of course, that’s a part of life, guys, we live with Jesus living in you. If you’re born again and you still got this detestable flesh of ours, don’t we? And this old flesh is always crying out for something dumb, everything the flesh wants to do will destroy you sooner or later. So he says, to put off the old self, which is being, not was being, but is being corrupted by its deceitful desires, and to be made new in the attitudes of your minds, and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness, not phony righteousness and holiness, but true righteousness and holiness. Now, guys, there is a part of the Christian life. We were talking about this as a staff before any of this started hitting on me, that maybe we’ve talked so much about how good God is and so much about what God has done for us that we’ve almost forgot about teaching what our personal responsibility is to this. I mean, we’ve got a reaction to these things that we should be concerned about, equally as concerned about what God’s done for me, should be then, how should I respond? How should I live my life?

And guys, unless you’re very, very fortunate, if you really just took your thoughts, the patterns, the attitudes of your minds, and if that was able to be exposed you and I’d be ashamed of ourselves a lot, wouldn’t we? But he said, to put off that old self. It’s there. It says it’s being corrupted by these desires of the flesh. It’s there. You can’t get rid of it. I told a guy the other day who was saying, Boy, just just help me God to get rid of sin. I said, then pray for death, because when that’s the only time you’re going to get rid of it, just pray that God will zap you right now, if that’s what your clue is, you’re never going to get rid of that. As long as you got this flesh, you’re going to have sin. But guys, if you’ll look at it with the proper attitude that my weaknesses and my flesh is what keeps me dependent on Christ, or it shouldn’t keep me dependent on Christ. How about you? You see, if I didn’t have dumb thoughts, I wouldn’t need to depend on Jesus, but he says to me that I need to be changed in the attitude of my mind. Now, guys, there’s where our attitudes have to come in, young people, old people, my attitudes of my mind to form a policy, an attitude. My dad used to say to me, I wish I listened to him more if you don’t want to have to worry about falling off a ladder. Don’t ever get up on one. That was good advice.

People talk about abstinence for young people. That’s one way to assure you never going to never going to get pregnant. See, it’s not popular, not even politically correct, if the President can do it, so can I. But you see, guys, what God is trying to get into us is, look, there is a way to think and a way to live as a born again believer. There’s a way to think. He says, Put off falsehood and speak truthfully to one another. Why? Because we’re all members of one body. We belong to each other. So he says, speak truthfully to one another. How many times do we not speak truthfully to one another? Don’t you wish we could just push a button all of a sudden, everything would just be perfect. You just think all things good, never have an evil thought, and never be thinking lustfully. And everything that’s done just all of it just go away. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? That will happen some day at death. So don’t wish for it too hard. In your anger. Don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down while you still angry, and don’t give the devil a foothold. What happens when you go to bed angry? Well, you give the devil a foothold. How many of you have ever gone to bed angry? How many of you know that God says, Don’t do that? Okay, let’s do it again. How many of you know that God says don’t go to bed angry? Okay. How many have ever gone to bed angry at your wife or your mate? Yeah? Now why do we do that? She needs to know that I’m really mad. And if I can be mad long enough I’ll teach her a lesson not to do that again. Does that work? No, may as well forget that one. But he says, You’ll give the devil a foothold. What happens you give the devil, you’re thinking dumb thoughts. You’re thinking totally thoughts contrary to God, when you go to bed and you’re going to wake up thinking totally dumb thoughts. You’re not going to get rid of it, so you may as well settle it at night than to try to wait till the morning. Do we do that? I don’t. If you’ve been stealing, don’t steal any longer. Includes a lot of things, cheating on income tax, being dishonest in transactions. He says to go ahead and do something useful with your hands and to help people with those in need. Here’s another good one. Don’t let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths. How many of you have ever allowed any unwholesome talk to come out of your mouth? Can I see your hands on that we got. God, we’re getting some exercise here today, at least. And you know what it does? You just feel like a dickens when you’ve when you’ve said something that you know is not consistent with who you are, but you do it.

But he says, instead of that, change your attitude to begin to speak. In other words, what’s helpful for building others up according to their needs, if it may benefit those who will listen. Do we ever stop to think guys that you have needs, that your mate has needs? We do. We have needs. There are things that that that we just need encouragement sometimes. Do you know that happens a lot to you when you get older? You know what happens to you when you get older? To those of you that aren’t old yet, you will be one of these days. What happens to you when you get older, you begin to get less secure. You begin to get it’s kind of like it’s kind of like the wife, when the children leave, you, don’t you? I don’t have a purpose in left anymore. It’s what they call the empty nest syndrome. Have you ever experienced the empty nest syndrome where you just kind of who needs me anymore? When you get older, that kind of happens. That means that if you’re in that situation, you need some encouragement, sometimes not discouragement, but encouragement. You hate to think you come to the end of your life and everything you’ve done is wrong, but I’ll tell you, there are people like that that they like to make you feel and everything you’ve done is wrong, they like to bring it up. Everything you’ve ever done wrong is going to be brought up. What does God say about that? Said love does what? What does love refuse to do? Bring up, that’s what love refuses to do. Why? Because it hurts you. It hurts you, and yet we do it. He’s saying, change your mind. Get rid of these things. There are people that have needs and recognize it may be dumb that they have them, but they recognize it and try to encourage one another instead of discourage one another. You know, it really isn’t a real wise thing. And if you’re getting really older, to say to your mate, you know, You sure got a lot of wrinkles, I don’t think you’re going to really have a real fun time that night. You’re not encouraging each other. So it talks about, don’t let that kind of talk come out of your house. Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of bitterness.

Yes, do you know that the majority of divorces come from bitterness, you do not do what I want you to do. I’m thinking I got all kinds of things I think about with people that I know. I know people that have lost their mate through death, and some of you have been in that situation, you know, one of the most dangerous thing that happens to you is you get lonely and to experience loneliness. Why? Because you can get hooked up with any Yahoo that you could ever imagine. And so I don’t want to get married to somebody because I’m lonely, because after I get married, I won’t be lonely. And the issue is, do you like them? That that’s why marriage should be. There’s somebody I want to serve and love, that’s a person that I think enough of and respect enough of, that I want to serve them in love, not get from them. Because in my mindset, I want to marry you because I want to get, you’re going to be real disappointed. But if you’ve already got from God what you want to get, then you’re free to serve. Until then you’re not free to serve. So he says, get rid of bitterness and rage and anger. Brawling people brawl with each other, slander, along with every form of malice. Instead, it says, See, guys, this isn’t sitting there saying, hey, with your eyes sin cast a stone. It’s just saying this is why we ought to think, if we’re children of God, this ought to be a part of our life. Be kind and compassionate to one another. Kindness compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ, Jesus forgave you and be imitators of God, therefore as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and a sacrifice to God.

Well, we’re going to stop there, but guys, I hope that we’ve jarred our minds a little bit to stop back and think, hold on a minute. Now my attitudes consistent with who I am as a child of God, and if they’re not, you and I have a choice. I’m going to rationalize that or say, Oh, well, we’re just human. That’s always a big one. Well, we’re just human. Or we’re going to say, Lord Jesus, I’m tired of this. I’m tired of having a temper that I blow up every time I don’t get my way. I’m tired of doing that. I’m tired of turning to things to meet my needs instead of Jesus. I’m tired of thinking that what the world has to offer is more important than what you have to offer. I’m just plain tired of living a life that’s inconsistent with who I am as a child of God and Lord Jesus, I want to change and I want you to change me, and I want you to change me now, because I don’t want to do this anymore. The first thing I had to do when I quit smoking years ago, before I was ever saved, was I don’t want to smoke anymore. I’m tired of coughing and sound like someone unplugged my iron lung, wheezing, coughing, spending a heck of a lot of money to burn up. I just plain don’t want to do it anymore. Could never quit prior to that, there are a lot of things of less obvious than those things that we, I believe, have to say, Lord Jesus, I don’t want to do this anymore. I’m through with it.
