Classic Christianity – The Mystery of God P3 (04-09-25)
Bob George Presents: The Mystery of God P3
~ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” He redeemed us in order that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Galatians 3:13,14
~ In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1:7,8
We Have: we have ἔχομεν (echomen) Verb – Present Indicative Active – 1st Person Plural Strong’s 2192: To have, hold, possess. Including an alternate form scheo skheh’-o; a primary verb; to hold.
Forgiveness and redemption from God is not something anyone gets, it’s something they possess when they are in Christ Jesus. They know they have it, they possess it, they are holding on to it. That’s what sets a true born again Christian apart. They know they have been forgiven at the cross, and Jesus is not going to die ever again for the forgiveness of their sins. “For without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness from God.” The person that is constantly asking for forgiveness of sins from God does NOT possess forgiveness of sins from God. For if they did, they would be thanking God that He FORGAVE them (past tense), and not asking for what He has already done. So the possession part is from Man’s perspective. If a person has received Jesus by Faith, then they have accepted everything that has been given to them in Christ. They possess it. They don’t have to go out and try to earn it. Furthermore, scripture says, we have redemption, we don’t continue to get redemption, we have it. The people that continually ask for forgiveness, they don’t keep asking God to redeem them over and over again. There is a major disconnect from the TRUE word of God. People give lip service to when they say they believe their sins have been forgiven, now let me go back to my confession booth or 1 John 1:9 keeping short accounts with God. Both of which are a lie of Satan. Catholicism and Protestantism are two sides of the same coin. Satan covered his bases, to make people think they need to pick one or the other. When the Truth is both teach the lie of ongoing forgiveness by God.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the One having blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world for us to be holy and blameless before Him, in love having predestined us for divine adoption as sons to Himself through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He has freely given us in the Beloved One, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished upon us in all wisdom and understanding, having made known to us the mystery of His will according to His pleasure, which He purposed in Him for the administration of the fullness of the times, to bring together all things in Christ—the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth— in Him, in whom also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of the One working all things according to the counsel of His will for us, the ones having first trusted in Christ, to be to the praise of His glory, in whom you also, having heard the word of truth, the gospel your of salvation, in whom also having believed you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance to the redemption of the acquired possession, to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:3-14

And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.
~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12
~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26

Pray to God:
Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”
“~ So the forgiveness of sins is a possession of yours. Do you realize that? That is your possession. You are not getting forgiven. Do you understand that? You are a forgiven person. I heard a rate one of the radio programs that follows us on one of the other channels, and a guy, dear guy, but just does not understand forgiveness. And this, this woman is talking about something she had done, and well, so sweet and I, have you asked Jesus to forgive you? And continue, Have you asked Jesus to forgive you? I thought, for goodness sakes man, don’t you know he already has and don’t you know that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness, and if that is true, that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness, and there is no more sacrifice for sin, meaning there is no more shedding of blood, then how in the world could you get forgiven today? When, when the Bible tells us, without the shedding of blood, there isn’t any forgiveness, how are you going to get forgiveness unless Jesus comes and dies again? Don’t you know that Jesus has already done that? So instead of this pious talk, Well have you ask Jesus to forgive you? Why don’t you tell someone that Jesus has already forgiven you of that, and now put it aside and get up and sin no more. Isn’t that the way Jesus dealt with it? If you’re without sin, throw the stone. If you’re not go home. And to the woman get up and sin no more, that’s the wisdom of God. That’s the wisdom of God. Otherwise, you’re going to be dealing with sin all your life.” ~ Bob George

So the forgiveness of sins is a possession of yours. Otherwise, you’re going to be dealing with sin all your life.
And so this is not something that you get it. Something that, if you are in Christ, you have, it’s your possession. In Him you have what? Redemption. What else? The forgiveness of sins. I ask people. How many of you ask God to redeem me every day? Anybody here? Now how many of you are redeemed? All right, then I’m going to ask another question. If you are redeemed, and you truly believe you’re redeemed, then how much sense would it make for you to ask God to redeem you? If you’re redeemed, what would you say if I said to you, gee, I got up this morning and asked God to redeem me. And say, Gee, Bob, I thought you were saved. It’s nice to hear that you’re now born again, wouldn’t you? Well, what else could you say? Well, then if in him you have redemption, what else do you have in him? Forgiveness. So if you would not get up asking him to redeem you every day. Why would you get up asking him to forgive you every day? Does God want you to know that you are redeemed? Yeah. Don’t you think maybe he also wants you to know you are forgiven? And if you know that you are redeemed, and you know that you are forgiven, then your identity has been changed into I am a redeemed, forgiven person. Now, if that is my identity, that I am a redeemed forgiven person, then that means that’s who I am. I’m a forgiven person. Is that good news? Am I a forgiven person because I keep short accounts with God? Am I a forgiven person because I practice spiritual breathing? Am I a forgiven person because I go to the confession booth? Because folks, every one of those are things that the Christian world has come up with, is what you have to do to get forgiven. So the Catholics say, if you don’t go the confession booth, you’ve had it, the Protestants say, no, no, you can go direct, and God’s up in heaven saying it’s finished. And when are you people going to learn it? It’s finished. I’m a redeemed person. Now, if I am a redeemed person, am I a person who gets redeemed? Or am I a redeemed person? Which is it? A redeemed person. If I am a forgiven person, then am I a person that gets forgiven? Or am I a forgiven person, which is it? Which is it? Then I’m a forgiven person.
Now, once again, if I’m going to walk by faith and without faith, what’s the scripture say? It’s impossible to please God, if I’m going to walk by faith, then am I walking by faith, knowing that I am in Christ, knowing that I am a redeemed person, to say, Lord, please redeem me. Is that faith? No, it is not. And if I was saying that as pious as that may sound and humble as that may sound, would I be functioning by faith? Would I be pleasing God? No. If I am a forgiven person, and I am asking God to do what he said, I’ve already done, am I asking, Am I walking by faith? And as pious as that may sound to say, Oh, I asked God, because I just am so humble, would I be functioning by faith? No. And therefore, could I be pleasing God? And do you know people saying, I’m so pleasing to God. It’s unbelievable, because I keep short accounts with God. I’ll show you how pleasing I am to God. I got every sin under the sun confessed. Say, No, you’re not pleasing to God. What’s pleasing to God is when you finally come to understand and believe what he said is true, that you are a forgiven person. That’s what’s pleasing to God. I did it once. I did it for all in order to do what folks? Make you holy and acceptable and blameless in the sight of God. Were you predestined to be made that way? Well, then if you’re predestined by God to be made holy and blameless, then how do you think you’re going to make yourself blameless by what you do? It’s amazing, isn’t it, how we’ve negated the work of faith.
Now let’s go on, and he has made known to us the mystery, and folks mark that word in your Bible, the mystery of the of his will according to His good pleasure. In other words, God said it gives me pleasure to do what I’ve done, which he purposed in Christ. So all of this was purposed to take place in Christ, to be put into effect when the times have reached their fulfillment, to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, that is even Christ.
Now, so that we do not go into this book with a misconception as to what this mystery is, turn over to turn to chapter three for a moment, and we’ll just take a moment to clarify this in verse two, chapter three, Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you. So Paul is saying to these people in Ephesus, Surely you’ve heard about this administration of God’s grace that was given to me. Paul is talking about this administration of God of grace was given to me by God by special revelation. That is the mystery. Now there’s this word mystery, made known to me by revelation. He did not get this through the apostles. Remember, in one of the pastors who said, when I got there, I did not go up to talk to the apostles. I didn’t go any place. I got this by direct revelation from God, as I have already written briefly. In reading this, then you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations, but has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. This mystery is that through the Gospel, the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus. What is the mystery that God is going to save The gentile the same way he saves the HEBREW. And all of that was predestined in the mind of God to take effect when the time had come. Now the time could not have come until Christ. And folks, that’s why it says, Until faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, because faith could not come until Christ came. Therefore you have the object of our faith is Christ. Prior to that time, faith was in the coming Jesus. But until Jesus came, our faith could not come. Faith must have an object. And the only object that God ever intended for us to have is the object of his Messiah, Christ, Jesus.
So when it’s talking about that he made known to us this mystery of his will according to His good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ to be put into effect when the times would have reached their fulfillment. So have the times reached their fulfillment? Yeah, that was what he’s talking about. There’s going to come a time when there’s going to become a fulfillment, when the HEBREW and Gentile alike have both been called into one person in Christ, Jesus. The dividing line of hostility ripped in two so that the two have become as one folks. When God divides up mankind, He divides it up this way, the Hebrew, the Gentile, and the church, the ecclesia. What is the ecclesia. Born Again, people made up of both HEBREW and Gentile. Those are the three categories of men, according to God, the HEBREW, the Gentile, the ecclesia. That’s the only division man makes in regard to mankind.
Today, when you talk to a HEBREW, what’s their idea? A HEBREW and a Christian. I always talk HEBREW and Christian. It’s not HEBREW and Christian, it’s HEBREW and Gentile, and we Gentiles need to start talking more about being Gentiles by birth and Christian by new birth, because it is not HEBREW and Christian, it’s HEBREW and Gentile.
Now let’s go on. These times have reached their fulfillment to bring all things in heaven and earth together under one head that is Christ in him. Look at this. We were also chosen. Who’s the also? When you say we were also chosen, that means somebody else was chosen, doesn’t it? Who’s the other people chosen? The HEBREWS now we are also as Gentiles. You see in Ephesus, he’s talking basically to Gentiles. He’s not talking to HEBREWS. He’s talking to Gentiles. He’s talking to that. Whole Asian city made up of Gentile heathens who are now in Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we who were the first to hope in Christ, now who’s that? HEBREW might be for the praise of his glory, and you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Isn’t this good news? See, God, was there a and is there to this day, folks, do you realize that we continually are looking at films and movies and everything else about this unbelievable, distinction between HEBREW and Gentile.
What was going on in Germany during World War 2, people wanting to abolish — off of the face of the earth. You even had an early Christian teaching of people who are today are revered as phenomenal Christian men of God, who led reformations and everything else, who were totally antisemitic. Do you realize that? And what God said is, when I tore that curtain, and that curtain was torn from the top to the bottom, it was done so so that the entire world, both HEBREW and Gentile could go into the presence of God, calling him Daddy, Father, and there’s no more line of this prejudice between HEBREW and Gentile. For a born again Christian to remain prejudice toward HEBREWS is an inconsistency. Or for a HEBREW who is born again to have prejudice against a Gentile, that barrier has been broken down, that dividing line of hostility has been annihilated, so that both of us can see ourselves as one, one in Christ.

To the Gentile, he says, Leave that stupid heritage of yours behind. Heathen worship all that’s leave it behind. God isn’t impressed as whether you’re a Greek or a Turk or an American. He isn’t impressed with that. Neither is he impressed with whether you’re a Hebrew. Leave that identity behind and accept the new identity that you have as a child of God in Christ, Jesus. It’s not important whether you were born in Greece, so that you can proudly say I’m Greek or or I’m Turkish, or I’m this who cares, or that I’m Hebrew. Who cares, you got a new identity. It’s called a child of God, and it’s made up of both Hebrew and Gentile, slave and free. There is none of those things in Christ. We’re all one. What is that? It’s a message of unity, folks. So he said you so you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the glory of the gospel of your salvation, having believed you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit. Now that Holy Spirit of God is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession to the praise of his glory, in other words, until the end of the age. Are you sealed in Christ? There again, who sealed you? Yeah. Did you seal yourself? No. Who sealed you? God. Now, if God tightened the seal, do you think puny little man’s able to untighten it? How secure are you in Christ? As secure as the one who sealed you in Christ. People say, Well, you can walk away from Jesus. No, you can’t. No, you can’t. You walk away, goes with you. Well, you can, you can you can sin so bad. Well, just how bad you’re gonna have to sin before it’s too late? I mean, just how many 100, 200 300 how many sins you’re going to have to commit before God says that’s it, and who’s going to judge that? And how are you going to know? And so folks, we have to realize that when Jesus Christ took away the sins of the world, he did so for a beautiful reason. It’s because if he didn’t, none of us could ever know that I’m going to be going into the presence of God. And so when you and I came to Christ and we accepted his death for us on that cross and His life in us through His resurrection, the Holy Spirit then sealed us forever, and that enables us to be able to live on this earth without fear of dying, because I have no fear of death, because I have no fear of life, and I know that the life that I have is eternal, and because it is eternal, I know that’s why the scripture says that we don’t die. We just go to sleep, as some of you are doing, and we wake up in the arms of Jesus. How discouraging it is when you go to sleep and wake up in the same chair that you’re serving.
Is that in that a wonderful thing to know, folks, and that is exactly what Christ has done for us. And this is all around HEBREW and Gentile for this reason, Paul says, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and your love for the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, and I keep asking that the God of. Our Lord, Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you may know him better. How are you going to get to know him better? Through the Spirit of what? What’s it say? Through the Spirit of what? Of wisdom and revelation. Now, once again, is there any way for you to know the meaning of this word unless God reveals the meaning of it to you? It’s what it says, eye has not seen, ear has not heard, or mind is conceived, of those things that God has prepared for those who love Him, it must be revealed how? By the Spirit. And so folks, that’s why we do not learn what the scripture says through the study of Greek it can help to learn what it says more accurately, or through the study of Hebrew. And again, if that’s all it took to understand the scriptures, how come the Hebrews and the Greeks are so messed up? That you that you can understand. You could have stood there right in front of Christ, Jesus himself, or you didn’t even need interpretation. You could have asked him questions. But unless the Spirit of God reveals truth to you, you will never know truth. And that’s why we must depend upon him to do that. And that’s why that again, an encouraging thing. Educated, non educated. It makes no difference a person that God can reveal the truth of the Word of God to the most educated and absolutely keep it away from the most from the least educated, and keep it totally away from the most educated. Knowledge puffs up and many times, the more people think they’re knowledgeable, the more confused they are, especially about this subject of predestination and election.
Well, we’ll pick up on that next week. In the meantime, as we close today, take the opportunity in our own hearts to be able to ask ourselves a question, and again, as God reveals these truths to you, where are you in this whole process of life? Where are you, as it stands, in this whole process of salvation, of knowing Christ as your Lord and Savior? Are you still in the process? Are you a person like I was that for 36 years of my life, thought that, or said, I believe in Jesus, but didn’t have a clue who he was? Did not know that I was a sinner, necessarily. I knew I sinned, but didn’t know what that meant. Went to church, but didn’t have a meaning to me. I didn’t know that I could know Christ personally. I didn’t know these things. I had never been taught them. And so there are people that are like that, not by their own design, just by the mere fact that they’ve never heard before. And so if that be the case, then ask yourself the question, Have I come to know Christ, Jesus, personally? Have I come to know Him as my Lord and Savior? You know not somebody else’s, but mine.
Let’s pray together, Father, what a miracle worker you are. Is how you go through people all over this world, and you know their hearts and you know their deepest need, and you’re there to touch it and to fill it. And I pray today, Father, that there be one here that has never come to that point in their life of accepting you totally for their love, for your love, and acceptance that today will be that day, and if that is the heart’s desire, to be able to just merely speak to you and to say, Lord Jesus, I really need you, and I, thank you for taking away all of my sins at the Cross never to see them again. I thank you for now making me what I could never, make myself, holy and acceptable in your sight, and I accept your life to become mine. I exchange mine for yours so that I can be a new creature in Christ, indwelt by this mystery of Christ, Jesus living in me, my only hope of glory. And I pray Father and Thank You for the love that extended your life to me and gave me life eternal in Jesus name and for his sake. Amen.
