~ “According to the law, in fact, nearly everything must be purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Hebrews 9:22
The words of God are written for all to see. If there was any more forgiveness required by God to be extended out to us, He would have to go back on the cross and die again and again for ongoing sinning. But that is what religion actually teaches today. They keep insisting on more forgiveness being handed out by God simply for the asking of it. They deny that it is finished. They deny the the Goel Kinsman-Redeemer did His job at the cross, and they make God out to be a liar, because they stand on their confession booths, or their virtual confession booths, and their vending machine for forgiveness ritual lies that they insist on following. Even when you show most people the truth, they deny what is plainly presented right before their eyes. And so they miss the biggest sin of ALL, unbelief in the finished work of the cross. And by their own claims that it is not finished, they make a mockery of the cross, treating it as an unholy thing.
And when a person points it out to someone that is caught in this massive SIN, they will defend it in all types of ways. They will say it makes them feel good to ask God for forgiveness. As though feeling good based on a lie, is better than standing on TRUTH. Think about folks. If a person refuses to submit to what the Scriptures clearly teach, then they are not likely saved. And that might make some people upset, to hear that, but folks, that is the Truth. No amount of works will give you Holy Spirit Life. Because a person that thinks they are saved by something they do or don’t do, they are NOT indwelt by the Holy Spirit for Life.
So remember, it is better to share Truth with people, no matter what they may think of you, because by their hearing the actual words of God, they might place Faith in TRUTH Himself.

~ In this message Bob George teaches from Romans about what it means to be “dead to sin and alive to God” by dying to the law and living under grace. He explains that all people are born under the law, where the wages of sin is death, but through spiritual union with Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection—believers are freed from the law’s death penalty and from sin’s legal mastery. Water baptism is presented as a picture of this reality, symbolizing being buried with Christ and raised to new life. Bob strongly critiques religious practices that insist on continual confession to keep forgiveness, calling this unbelief and a denial of Christ’s finished work on the cross, where Jesus died once for all sins. Come die again. Would he not? Are we together? I mean, there’s divine logic to all this. Is he going to come and die again? When he comes back, maybe he’ll deal with sin again. When he comes back, what’s it say? When Jesus Christ comes back, he isn’t dealing with sin. He isn’t dealing with that. He’s dealing with what? New life. He’s already dealt with sin. He did it once. He did it for all, and he wants you and me to walk by faith in that. Now, what does faith say? We say, “What do you do when you sin? Well, what do you do when you sin? Some people say, “Enjoy it. Look, the only thing in the world that you can say when you know that you’ve intentionally blown it is to say, “Lord Jesus, thank you. If you’re going to walk by faith, you’re going to say, “Thank you. If you want to walk by presumption, you’re going to ask him to do what, in fact, in Christ he’s already done, which I did for years and taught people how to do that by the 1000s. I hope I’ve gotten back to all of them now, but I’m not sure. In the same way, in the King James, it says “reckon. It’s a good old Texas term. “Reckon, I reckon so, but it doesn’t mean that. It says, “Count yourself dead to sin. Why are you dead to sin? Are you dead to sinning, or dead to sin? You are dead to the sin principle. You are totally dead to the fact that the wages of sin is what? Die to that, guys. The wages of sin is death. You’re not under that anymore. Why? Because the law, the Spirit of life, sets you free from the law of sin and death. You’re free from it. That’s what it means. You’ve been set free. You have been set free from something that would have kept you in a state of death throughout eternity. Do we have an appreciation now for what Jesus did for us, just over and above what we think? Therefore, because we can count ourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus, our focus should be on the fact we’re alive in Jesus. We don’t have a preoccupation with sin; it’s been dealt with. And you say, “Well, that’s isn’t that just kind of glossing over? Well, you know what Titus says. It’s the grace of God that teaches us to say what? The law is what keeps demanding your flesh to behave. That’s all this is talking about. This whole passage is talking about being free from the law that kills and grab a hold of the new life that is available to you in Christ Jesus. Are we together? These are not easy passages, guys. We died to sin. How do you die to sin? You die to the law. What did we just read up here? Where there is no law, sin is not what? Taken into account. You believe that? No. So until you die to the law, sin is taken into account, and if you’re under the law, my friends, which you are when you’re born, you are under the death penalty. The wages of sin is death, and you’re under it until you choose life. Now, guys, I’m sorry that we can’t make this any more. I wish I had a way of just picking people up and shaking them, because you know some people sit and listen. There’s what else is new? Do you realize that you’re dead? And do you realize that death is permanent? And do you realize that if you die, die-in other words, you die dead; that you’re going to remain dead to God for the rest throughout all eternity? And you know who you’re going to live with? satan. satan. You know where you’re going to live? Place called hell. Not exactly a real attractive location. So we’re talking about extremely serious things, whether you believe it or not, it’s not the issue. The issue is this: is what God said, and if you don’t believe it, you’ll find out that it’s true someday. And so I ask you to listen. Don’t sit there and yawn with this one.
Sin. How can we live it any longer? Don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ. Now, are they talking about water baptism there? Spiritual baptism. At the very moment that you were born again, the Spirit of God came to indwell you. That’s Christ in you. It then says that the Spirit of God then baptizes or places you into the body of Christ. That’s you in Him, Christ in you, you in Him. Are we together on that? Don’t you know that all of us who were baptized or united into Christ were baptized or united into his death, we were therefore buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. You too can be raised from the dead. Now, if we have been united with Him, which is what it means to be baptized into Christ, to be united with Him, we’ve identified ourselves with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection. If we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection, so in other words, just as Christ entered into our death with us, He was raised from the dead so that we can enter into His resurrection with Him. I’ve been united with Him. He died, I died. He was raised, I’m going to be raised. For we all know that our old self was crucified with him, so that the body of sin may be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin, because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. Why have you been freed from sin? When you die, because when you die, you’ve died to to what killed you. Paul said it’s through the what? Law that I died to the law. So he’s talking about that we should no longer be slaves to sin because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. When you die, you’re free from the law, aren’t you? Now, folks, that is what the picture of baptism, water baptism is. That you and I are born into this world united to the law. We’re under the law. We’re born into this world under the law, and you’re under the consequence of the law that the wages of sin is what? Death. When you and I come to Christ, it’s through the law that I died. That’s what it means to be placed into the water. With what? What are you placed in the water with? With the law. The law. I’m here. I take it into the grave. And then I am raised again in the newness of life to be married to another, Christ Jesus. Where do I leave the law? Where do I leave it? In the grave. That the water represents the grave. I’m alive. I died. I leave what killed me in the in the in the grave, and I am raised to walk in the newness of life. Therefore, I am dead to this, and I’m alive to this. Are we together? So I’m dead to the law, and therefore, it sin does not have any mastery over me.
Now, in verse eight, if we died with Christ, we believe that we’ll also live with him, for we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again. Death no longer has mastery over him. The death that he died, he died to sin. How many times? Once and for how many? For all, but because but the life that he lives, he lives to God. How many times did Jesus die on a cross? Once. How many sins did he take away on that day? All of them. Why in the world did he cry out, “It is finished? Because it is finished. Now, when something is finished, is there anything you can do to add to it? Did you have anything to do with what he did at the cross? That was all him sent by God. You and I had nothing. Had we been there, we had nothing to do with what he did at the cross. There, he volitionally became sin, so that in him we could become the righteousness of God. We had nothing to do with any of that, did we? It’s all Jesus, and it’s none of us. And so, when he cried out, “It’s finished, he meant, “It’s finished, and we are to be dead to what killed us, the law, and come alive to Christ. Well, now if that’s true, then why do we keep up with going to confession booths to get your sin forgiven? The HEBREWS kept up until 70 A.D. until Titus came in and destroyed the temple. That was the end of the sacrificial system, but that was 30 till 70; 40 years that they kept up with the sacrificial system. After Jesus said it’s finished, we as Gentiles come along and form our form our confession booths, and then the Protestants we think we’re so much better, so we just first John one nine ourselves to death and keep short accounts with God. And you got people who make a living teaching people to keep short accounts with God. You got to keep your sins forgiven. One pastor here in Dallas just recently said that the only unpardonable sin is the one you haven’t confessed. Biggest church of its denomination in America, the biggest, the only unforgivable sin is the one you haven’t confessed. So, in other words, your relationship with God is based on your memory and your ability to keep your sins forgiven. For you to keep your sins forgiven after Jesus cried out, “It’s finished, and we call that holiness. Do you call it holiness? I’ll tell you what it is. It’s unbelief. And it says that without faith, it’s impossible to what? Please God. And why is to teach? Oh, you’re so pleasing to God. You got all your sins confessed. Oh, you’re pleasing. I know I’m pleasing because I know I got all mine. Amy, she probably hadn’t got around hers yet, but I got mine all done. You become judgmental. You’re preoccupied with sin. That’s all you think about is sin, sin, sin, and you don’t have time to get on with life, life, life. He said to die to this. He said to die to it, and we keep it alive, and we think we’re pleasing God. I’m just so pleasing to God; it’s unbelievable, man. I got all my sins confessed. Really, it seems to me that what would be pleasing to God is when you acknowledge what God did through His Son Jesus Christ, who had to suffer and die so that you and I could go, just like the song said. Do what? Go what? Free. How free are you when your relationship with God is based upon your remembering all your sins? Just how free do you think you are? That’s talk, but there’s no reality to that kind of freedom, is there?

We try to use the law of God to teach people to say no to unrighteousness. The Bible says it’s the grace of God. Why? It’s done. It’s finished. Ain’t anything I can do to make God do more or less. The only thing I can do when I blow it is to say, “Lord Jesus, thank you for that. But I’m yours. I’m alive. I have your life living in me, and what I’m thinking and what I’m doing is inconsistent with who I am. So, Lord, teach me the height and depth and width and breadth of the love of God that’s mine through Christ Jesus our Lord, and teach me how to walk in love. That’s the Christian life. Don’t let sin reign in your mortal body. Sin is there, but don’t let it reign. How am I going to let it reign? Remember what I talked about up there about the reigning in life. Never let death reign in your life. How are you going to let sin reign? By forgetting that you’ve been freed from the wages of sin, which is death. Is that right or wrong, guys?
In your mortal body, so that you obey its evil desires. There’s sin in your body. That sin produces evil desires in your body. Is that right or wrong? Anyone have any doubt on that one? Any evil desires? Yeah, they’re there, but I don’t have to give in to them. I don’t have to let it reign in my life now. The power of sin is in the law. So what keeps you wanting to do what these evil desires are saying? The law that says you can’t do it. We all know that, guys. All you have to do to get a young person to stick his finger in the fire is say, “Don’t stick your finger in the fire, and over he goes, laughing at you. Right or wrong? The power of sin’s in the law, and and that’s what it’s saying. If you don’t die to the law, you’re never going to die to the power of sin. Guys, you’ve got and your children have evil desires living in them, and you and I have evil desires living in us, don’t we? You don’t need to elaborate on them, but you got them, and so do I. And your kids have it. How in the world are you going to teach your kids not to give in to the evil desires? And where it’s got to start is coming to Jesus, and if you’re in Jesus, you’ve been freed from the law, and now are there to live in a newness of life, being guided internally by the Spirit of God, and not by the demands of the law, because the wages of sin is death, and the gift of God is eternal life.
So it says it is a result of this because you are free, that you’re no longer under the law of sin and death. You’re not under the law. Period. Die to it. Forget it. You’re now leaving, led by the Spirit that lives in you, the Spirit of God that lives in you. And so, don’t let He says, do not offer parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness. Well, what is that talking about? Well, guys, you offer your body to all kinds of things. You probably, after you get out of here, will go offer your body to some restaurant to feed you. You know, people offer their body to a bottle of whiskey, offer your body to a pack of cigarettes, offer your body to dope, offer your body to immoral activity. We’re always offering our body to something, and if you’re in Christ, you know what you’re offering your body to, whether it’s good or bad. You know that you don’t have. Nobody has to tell you. You know, and it says, “Don’t do that. Don’t offer your body as an instrument of unrighteousness. If indeed you have been made righteous by Christ Jesus, then don’t offer your body to those things. They’re contrary to who you are as a child of God. So it says, “Don’t offer parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from life to death.
Lord, you have brought me from the state of spiritual death into life, and offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness. And again, guys, the conclusion in verse 14, for sin shall not be your master. Why? Because you’re not under the law, but under grace. Do we understand that? It’s not easy. These passages are not easy, but I want you to understand them. And all this is saying is that if you don’t die to the law, then you’re not going to die to sin, because if you’re under the law, sin is being pointed out to you all the time.
Now, guys, the Holy Spirit of God lives in you, doesn’t He? Are we together? The Holy Spirit of God lives in you. Okay. Now, if the Spirit of God lives in you, and the Spirit of God is saying to die to the law. Who’s pointing out sin to you? I mean, you know, I used to teach when the Holy Spirit’s pointing out that sin to you. Is the Holy Spirit saying, Jim, that was sin, or is the Holy Spirit saying, Jim, that was contrary to who you are as a child of God? See, if the Holy Spirit of God was saying that’s sin, He’s lying. The Holy Spirit of God said, “Jim, I’ve already take care of the sin. Now let me deal with why you were doing what you did. Because everything we do stems from I’m not trusting Jesus. We’re right or wrong? And that’s what Jesus is pointing us toward. I want you to learn to trust me, and so His whole deal is, I’m not going to point out at a sin because there is no law anymore, so it’s not sin. I’m going to point it out to the fact that as a child of the living God, that you’re thinking and doing something contrary to who you are, as a child of God. If you and I are constantly critical of each other, is that God’s will to a child of God? Does God say, “Hey, you’re sinned” No, He said, “Look, did I forgive the world?” Yeah. Did I forgive that person that you’re so critical of over there? Yeah, unfortunately you did. Well, then forgive one another as I forgave you. It starts renewing your mind. Starts making you feel kind of bad. He says that’s what I want you to understand. Is I’m going to deal with you as to what the cause is that’s causing you to do. I’m out and I’m living a promiscuous lifestyle. That isn’t God’s will. Why? It’s not the best for you. He isn’t saying to you, “Hey, that’s sin. He’s saying to you, “You’re living a life that is contrary to who you are as a child of the living God. That’s all. You’re just living a life contrary to who you are as a child of the living God, and then you got to deal with that. And sometimes we deal with it, and sometimes we don’t deal with it, don’t we? And sometimes we listen to what God says and say, “You’re right, Lord. And other times, say, “Well, yeah, but I, you know, and go through all of that, and he still loves you, but he’s still going to keep at you. That what you’re doing and thinking is contrary to who you are as a child of the living God. You’re a new creature, guys. When it talks about the old man, that was Bob George, without the Spirit of God living in him. That guy’s dead. He doesn’t live anymore. Who am I today? I’m Bob George with the Spirit of God living in me. He’s a new creature, and as a new creature, the day that that happened, the very day that that happened, I became a new creature and started growing in grace, and I’m still growing In grace, that happened to me back in 1969, in June.
Today, my dad died on this day, and I had the privilege of seeing my dad come to Jesus before he went to be with the Lord. But I was in Austin, Texas, and my dad had gone down there to be with my sister, and ended up in the hospital. And it was over this holiday, and as a result of the holiday, I was able to go to Austin, and my brother and my sister, the whole family. And I remember because when I came to Christ, and the person I was the most interested in was my dad because he was dying of cancer. And I remember flying dad back to California to talk to Bill Bright, who had led me to the Lord. And I remember, like it was yesterday, of sitting in Dr. Bright’s office and Dr. Bright sharing the gospel with my dad, and I remember my asking him if he wanted to pray. And I always remember my dad saying, “Oh, Mr. Dr. Bright, I’d love to pray with you, but I want you to know something: that I have led a very good life, and he had, and I have I have been very generous, and the stained glass windows that we have in our church, I bought those, and my heart sunk on me as I came to realize that my dad was lost, and that he was counting on his works for his salvation, and with that, I gave him a book, and I continued to share with him. But he was so sick that I was almost hesitant to share as much as I would have liked to. But in 1969, that many years ago today, I was in a hospital room in Austin, Texas, and my dad called my brother and I into his bed, and he said, “Boys, I want to tell you something. Everything that I’ve thought is so important in life and place such great emphasis in is absolutely meaningless when you’re lying here like there, like this, dying of cancer. And he said, “Guys, the only thing that’s important is man and his relationship with God. He said, “Bob, I read that book, and everything is okay. And I kissed my dad goodbye that day, knowing that I’d never see him again on the face of this earth. But I knew one thing: he was with Jesus, and by the time we got home, the phone was ringing, and it was my sister telling me that Dad had gone to be with the Lord. And I know I’ll see him again someday, but I wouldn’t have seen him again had he not come to the understanding that you’re saved by grace and grace alone, and not by works.
Let’s pray together, Father. Time goes by so fast and so rapidly. Seems like only yesterday that my brother and I were in that hospital room with Dad. Truly, he had led a moral life from the world standpoint. There’s no question about that. But that’s not good enough. Our goodness is not based upon how we look up next to one another, but how do we look up next to Jesus? He’s our standard of righteousness, not ourselves, and Dad couldn’t stand up to that. I thank you for drawing him unto yourself in those last moments of his life, and I thank you that one of these days we’ll see him again when we leave these bodies and are present with you. And Father, we thank you for the good news of the gospel that is so ignored, so perverted, has been so misused, mistaught. And I thank you that we have the privilege of proclaiming this good news in all of its fullness. And we thank you for these hearts that have responded to it and are today walking in a newness of life, no longer under the bondage of the law that kills, but under the newness of life in Christ Jesus. Father, we thank you for all these things in Christ’s name and for His sake. Amen. Amen.
