Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P1031 (05-09-25)
Salvation is the LIFE of Jesus Living in a True Born Again of the Spirit Person!
~ John 16:13
~ However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.
~ Today’s Classic Christianity Radio broadcast was a phenomenal broadcast of Truth. This is a must listen to show for everyone today, and think how much more true this is for us today, than when it was first broadcasted. Because we know so much more today than we did yesterday and days gone by. And all of us who have been in Christ Jesus for awhile, know first hand what is going on with the teaching in the pews. For many of us have even been kicked out of so-called churches for teaching Truth ourselves, and the powers to be didn’t like what we were saying. And also, think how much more difficult it is to find a church home today where the pastor is teaching truth, especially in regards to Jesus having finished the work and we are to rest in Christ Jesus, and to be taught ALL TRUTH by the HOLY SPIRIT, if indeed the Holy Spirit lives in you. For it’s a guarantee today, that if a pastor went to seminary they were brainwashed to the MAX with more LIES than you can shake a stick at. And make no mistake about it, they were intentionally taught LIES, by satan’s transformed ministers. And for sure they are NOT willing to listen to Truth taught by someone who hasn’t gone to seminary and graduated with a theological degree of some type. And that’s how indoctrinated the churches really are, because they are run by LOST people too, for the elders of the church are the power groupies in charge of hiring and firing the pastors of “their church.”
So we encourage you to take what is said to heart, and ask for wisdom and understanding directly from God for the Holy Spirit to teach you ALL TRUTH. For He will give you wisdom simply for the asking, without finding fault in anyone asking for TRUTH. “Now if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask from God, the One giving generously to all and not finding fault, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5

John 6:28,29
28 Therefore they said to Him, “What must we do, that we may be doing the works of God?”
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you should believe in Him whom He has sent.”
~
Behold Jesus, the Lamb of God Who Took Away the Sins of the World and the World
Lord Jesus, teach me the TRUTH of the world we live in today and the Truth of You

Bob George addresses a caller’s concern about a nephew struggling with faith and sin, emphasizing the importance of discerning true salvation and living a life consistent with Christian principles. He stresses that true salvation involves being indwelt by Christ’s life, which teaches to say no to unrighteousness. Another caller, Beverly, expresses a loss of joy in her Christian life. Bob advises her to focus on abiding in Christ and reading his book “Classic Christianity” to restore her joy. Ron questions the role of seminaries in teaching the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and Bob argues for individual study and reliance on the Spirit over traditional doctrines.

We’re going to go to Randy listening on KIRV in Madera, California. Randy, you’re on the air.
Caller 1 0:54
Hi, Bob. Nice. Talk to you again. Thanks, brother. I’d like to get your advice, your opinion, I have a nephew who is going through some really struggles with his faith and hard times right now, and my question is I not really sure how to approach him without, for lack of better words, kind of get in his face about it, because basically, he’s he’s trying. He’s trying to be a Christian. He’s gone to another church, to where he thinks he accepted Christ. But the problem I’m seeing is ever, ever since that time, he’s still been living in sin, and he’s not really been acting like a Christian. If you know what I’m saying. I’m not trying to be judgmental, but I don’t really know how to talk to him without I don’t want to say something wrong. He’s basically he’s having a hard time with alcohol, and he’s going through a problem with his girlfriend he’s with at the current time, and he’s living with her, and they’re not married, so I see that as living in sin. But, you know, I haven’t said anything to him about that, but that’s kind of my dilemma. How do I talk to him without being judgmental, kind of like…
Bob George 2:18
Yeah, well, Randy, the again, if you don’t know whether you’re talking to a saved person or a lost person, you have to nail that down. The issue is that if he has come to Christ for the fullness of the gospel, in other words, as we just talked about at the beginning of the program, not just the fact that Jesus died for your sins, as good as that is, but that, having been an accomplished fact, He came to save us by His life, and to realize that what salvation is is being saved from the consequence of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is life, which means the imputation of the very life of God living in us. And now, if that is true, we have the ability to participate in the divine nature that lives in us. And the issue on that is if the Spirit of Truth, Christ is full of grace and truth. So if you’re indwelt by Christ, you’re indwelt with grace and truth. Now, if I’m indwelt with grace and truth, that that means that’s the divine nature that I have the privilege of participating in. I have the ability to participate now in grace and in truth, learning more and more about the grace of God that teaches me to say no to unrighteousness and to learn more and more about the truth of Christ Jesus, which is what enables us to grow in our faith. Now, if I’m in dwelt by truth and I’m indwelt by grace, then I cannot be in rebellion to truth and I cannot be in rebellion to grace. That’s why, to me, a legalist has to take a hard look at himself to see, are you truly saved? Because if you are, you’re not indwelt by the law. You’re indwelt by the grace of God, and God intends that grace to teach you how to say no to unrighteousness. And so what a person has to do, Randy is, is to try to get that solidified in your own in your own heart. Are you truly? Have you truly come to Christ, not just for his death for you, but his life in you. And if Christ, Jesus is living in you, then you cannot sit there in your heart rebelling against what you know has been proclaimed as truth, living together is sin. You can do that as a Christian. It says all things are permissible, but not all things are profitable. If it wasn’t permissible, it would be law, but it’s not profitable as a. Born again. Believer, there’s nothing profitable about living together as a born again. Believer, if you’re not born again, your problem isn’t living together. Your problem is you’re lost. That’s just an indicator of your lostness. But if you’re saved, there’s no way in the world that you can sit there and say, Well, yeah, but that’s okay. Or, you know, we live in the 20th century. You just don’t understand God. God, you know, was different back then, he is now, all of those kind of feeble excuses come out when you’re lost. Homosexuality is not a sin, it’s an alternate lifestyle. I was born that way, where the Bible says, No, you weren’t born that way. It’s sin. Drunkenness becomes alcoholism instead of drunkenness. And Jesus said drunkenness is a problem with the heart. It’s not what you put in your mouth that defiles you, but what proceeds out of your heart. Now, if we’re not willing to call sin as God calls it, if we insist upon coming up with the psychiatrist definition of the problems of the heart of man, because they have alternate definitions, and that’s what we basically in the world grab a hold of. And so instead of being double minded, we’re schizophrenic. Well, if I’m schizophrenic now, I need a pill. If I’m double minded, I need to get single minded. And so if truth indwells us Randy, you can’t be in rebellion to truth. That doesn’t mean that you’re going to live by the truth every day of the life, because that you’re not going to do that until you die. There’s always going to be times when you believe the lie of Satan instead of the truth of God and His Word. And you go and find out how that works for you. It doesn’t work. Satan comes in and says, you’re having problems. You need some peace. Go take a drink. You go do that, and you find out, hey, that didn’t work. That was a lie. And to continue doing what you know is a lie, this kind of insanity. So it’s, it’s one of those things that’s going to take some time Randy. You just have to keep dealing with them and dealing but first of all, you have to solidify. He has to solidify in his own heart. Are you truly born again? Not from any experience, not from walking an aisle, not from speaking in tongues, not from just have you by faith, accepted the substitutionary death of Christ, Jesus for you and the resurrected life living in you. If you have then you’re indwelt for the Spirit of God. And the role of the Spirit of God is to lead you into all truth, and to take the truth that Jesus proclaimed and make it known to us. And so with that, all I’m saying is, you may be living a lifestyle. It’s inconsistent with who you are, but you’re not going to do so happily. It just cannot be.
Caller 1 7:55
All that I completely understand my struggle was trying to find the right words to he’s really trying. He’s not coming up with the excuses that you mentioned, right? I just, I just honestly don’t know if, if he really is saved, and I want him to be so badly, but I don’t want to come well,
Bob George 8:18
if a man claims he is, don’t, don’t question a man’s salvation because he’s drinking or living with somebody. Don’t salvation on that what you’re what you’re doing is, I would approach him with the assumption that he is saved. I never approach somebody with assumption you’re not saved. I talked to them as if they were and then in the conversation, I find out they’re not. So the issue is is just be a friend to him and quit. Don’t be concerned about saving him, because you can’t save him. Only Christ can be concerned about being his friend and talking to him about the things that that are there that are inconsistent with who you are. As a child of God, it isn’t going to bring you in other words, brother, it ain’t going to bring you happiness. You know that you’ve had enough experience to know that what you’re doing is not bringing you happiness. The girl you’re living with has now had enough experience to know that what you’re doing is not bringing happiness. It just plain does not do so. So if what you’re working at isn’t working, then shouldn’t you be willing to take another look at what does work? And I would approach it kind of on that basis, Randy, don’t be in a hurry. Love him. Be in a hurry. If he’s looking for help. Sit down and stay the Bible with him. Get off of the exteriors. You know, religion is like a car. We polish it all up and make it look good, and then you open up the hood and there isn’t any engine in there. And that’s what religion is. It’s polishing people up, getting your manners right, getting you saying the right words and all that type of thing. There’s only one problem. There’s nothing inside to make you run. And so that’s. Where we have preoccupied ourselves with the exterior instead of what’s going on underneath the skin, in the heart, and deal with him on that basis, not his exterior, but underneath. Get his heart to help to get his heart right, right. Sounds good. Okay, brother, all right. Thank you very much. You’re welcome, Randy, best of luck to you, pal. If we can be of any help, you let us know. Okay, I will do that. All right, Randy, thanks. Randy, thanks. Let’s go to Salinas, California. Let’s go on KKMC. Beverly, you’re on the air.
Caller 2 10:33
Hi. Thank you for taking my call. You’re welcome. Beverly, I just have a question about, um, I’ve been a Christian for about 16 years now, and joy just seems to have gone out of my Christian experience. I’m not even sure what being a Christian means anymore. The Church I’m going to they put a lot of emphasis on bringing people to the Lord, serving within the church, that type of thing, and I’m not in all the years I’ve been a Christian, I’ve never led anybody to the Lord. I’m kind of a shy, quiet person. I don’t really reach out to people, and I don’t even really like serving much in the church when they’re when I get calls saying, you know, can you do this? Can you serve on this committee? Can you do this? Can you do that? I think, oh, gosh, not another thing. And I just, I don’t know what to think anymore. I’m, I’m even beginning to doubt that there’s even a god. I’m just, I’m set up. I don’t know what to think. But any suggestions?
Bob George 11:41
Yeah. Beverly, anybody who’s been in the Lord for any length of time, unless they were taught immediately how to abide in Christ, is going to get burned out. I got burned out. I spent a great number of years driving down to the busiest Christian schedule you could ever imagine with tears streaming down my eyes, singing the song of Andre crouch, Lord, take me back the days when I first knew you and I had totally lost, like yourself, the joy of my salvation. Well, you don’t have to be a brain scientist to figure out what God meant when he showed me that if you abide in my words, you’ll know the truth, and the truth will set you free. And I can say you don’t have to be a brain scientist to figure out that when you’re driving down the freeway every day with tears streaming down your face that you’re not free. Don’t have to be a real brain to figure that out. And and it said that truth is what set you free. And so I figured out that I’ve got error. I’ve been taught some error someplace down the line, because if truth sets you free, error is what puts you in bondage. And I was under the bondage of performance orientation. I was never so much involved in the legalistic do this and do that as much as the performance. You got to share Christ, you got to be, you got to do this. You got to do this. It’s all you. It’s a you got a religion, exactly, and so, so I had to sit, get sit back and say, Lord, you have to start over with me, because I am miserable, and I know I’m still functioning, and nobody on the outside knows what’s going on the inside, but I’ve lost the joy of my salvation, and so I want you to restore me back to where I was when I first knew you. And it was like God said, Oh, Bob, I got so much greater than that. That was okay, but I got a lot more for you than that. But what I do want you to do is to forget what you’ve been taught and start all over. And let me teach you truth that sets you free, and when the Son sets you free, you’re free. Indeed. Beverly, I wrote a book a number of years ago called Classic Christianity that has been translated about 2526 different languages and has helped people all over the world to come to rest in Christ Jesus. You’re still you’re a child of God, but you’re still in the desert, still working in the desert, and you haven’t gone over into the promised land where you rest. In other words, to take a vacation in Christ, Jesus, which is called a Sabbath rest. It’s not a day of the week, it’s every day of the week. Resting in Jesus to do in and through you what you cannot do on your own. And you get free from the bondage of what people expect out of you, and to realize that I’m going to function in regard to what God wants me to do, and what God wants you to do is to walk by faith. And so it’s it’s getting rid of that bondage of people and realizing that your Savior and your Lord and your instructor is Christ, Jesus, not man, and it will set you free. So I’d like to send you that book and you read it, and after you read it, while you call us back and tell us. How we’re doing, and I’ll be have very happy with that.
Caller 2 15:03
Okay, great. Well, thank you so much.
Bob George 15:05
You’re welcome. Now you we’re gonna put you on hold now, Beverly, so you stay on hold and we’ll get that book to you. Okay, thanks a lot. You’re sure welcome.

Bob George 16:06
We’re going to go to Ron in Huntington Beach, California, listening on KBrite. Ron, you’re on the air.
Caller 3 16:12
Good afternoon. Bob, Hi, Ron. If two pastors are both being taught by the Holy Spirit, you know, walking by the Holy Spirit, living by the Holy Spirit. How can they come up with opposing doctrines?
Bob George 16:31
Well, Ron, that’s quite an assumption. To believe that both pastors are living, being led by the Spirit, the Spirit of God teaches, but the meaning of what he teaches has to be revealed by the Spirit of God. And so there is a lot of times what you run into especially they run in in pastors is that the majority of them, if they’re denominational, have been taught in their individual seminaries. If you go to a Baptist seminary, you’re going to be taught a certain way. If you go to a church of Christ seminary, you’re going to be taught another way. If you’re a Methodist, you’re going to be taught another way. If you’re a Presbyterian, you’re going to be taught another way. And so that’s why we as Christians have got to get rid of all of that tradition that really the interpretation becomes the tradition, the traditional interpretation of the Baptist, the traditional interpretation of the Catholics. And we’ve got to put that aside and say, Look, if Jesus Christ is alive, living inside of me, which indeed he is, and he has given me the mind of Christ, and we have been told by the word of God that eye has not seen and ear has not heard and mind is not conceived, of those things that God has prepared for those who love Him. But it must be revealed by the Spirit. Then I am not going to depend upon Bob George or the Baptist or the Catholics or the Presbyterians or anyone else to interpret the meaning of the word of God for me. We’re told that in the scripture that God lives in you, and let God interpret the Word of God to you. So that means individually, Ron, that it’s my responsibility to approach the Word of God not not with the bias. Is this what my denomination taught me, but without biases, to approach the Word of God with the attitude Lord Jesus the Baptist aren’t my teacher. Campus Crusade isn’t my teacher. Bob George is not my teacher, these people can teach you what God has revealed to them, but until God reveals it to you, you’re really not taught. You’re just taught what I believe is true. And so that’s why Christianity Ron is such an individual thing. God didn’t come to die for Baptist and Catholics and Presbyterians. He came to die for people individually, and he said, I individually teach you. And so really, what it mounts to is not what the pastor believes, but what do you believe? There’s the key. I don’t care what the pastor believes. What I care about is that the Holy Spirit has taught me individually what to believe.
Caller 3 19:21
Okay, what I’m trying to get at here, then from what you’re saying, it would seem as though virtually every Bible college, and every seminary, at least in America, is is not teaching the students to study scripture, relying on the Holy Spirit to teach them. They’re training men to simply learn their doctrines, to learn their reads and to believe what they believe. And isn’t that? Wouldn’t that be? Uh, basically anti Bible, anti scriptural. Well, the wrong way of doing it,
Bob George 20:07
Yeah, yeah, but you, you’ve nailed it on the head. That’s really true there. The reason that you go to Presbyterian Seminary is to learn what we Presbyterians believe and to get that doctrine or that tradition embedded into your heart so that you can graduate with a degree and be placed in a church and teach that on to your people. No question about it. There really, Ron, there really is not an encouragement on the part of church leaders to encourage people to study the Word of God on their own. I’ve been telling people for 20 years on the air, do not believe what I’m telling you. I could be lying to you, and you must listen to what I’m saying and then go into the Word of God and ask God to reveal that truth to you, or to reveal that, in your opinion, what I’m teaching is wrong. And that’s that, that’s what we must be encouraging people see we’re scared to death to do that. We’re scared to death to do that.
Caller 3 21:06
Well, I know pastors don’t do it because the churches I’ve gone to and I’ve been to three Bible colleges, and they clearly said to me, into the whole student body that they were there to teach you what their what they believed, what their head doctrines were, and if you opposed them, they could actually kick you out in all the churches, churches I’ve been to, the pastors I’ve never been to a church yet that actually encourage people To study the Bible on their own, or to set up programs to where they would train people how to study scripture right. They don’t want to do it. And my speculation is that the pastors are afraid that the people might learn the truth and they may disagree with him, and it might cause problems.
Bob George 22:03
Well, I think too, Ron there’s a little bit of pride connected with I mean, you’re sitting back and saying, you know, it kind of reminds me that passage in the Scripture, are you saying that the Gentiles that did not pursue righteousness have obtained it, but we who have pursued it have have not obtained it and said, Yeah, you got it. Why? Well, because they you pursued it by works and they pursued it by faith. It’s kind of the same type of a situation. The person sitting there and say, Come on, Bob, don’t tell me that I’ve sat in seminary, and I’ve sat for four years or three years, however many years it might be to graduate from seminary to qualify me to be a pastor, and then that this layman sitting out in the pew that’s never spent a day in a seminary can understand Scripture better than me. Come on. Well, you say no, I’m sorry, pastor, but that’s exactly what it is they if they’ve been depending on Christ to interpret the Word of God, I’ll guarantee you they know more about the meaning of the word of God than you do.
Caller 3 23:05
Well, that’s what I’ve seen. And I guess you would probably agree with me that no pastor should encourage a man who wants to become a pastor to actually go to a Bible college or seminary. Instead, he should work with that man in the church there, training him how to study the Bible, how to teach it, how to share the gospel, go out and evangelize in all the other duties of a pastor. Second, Timothy, two, two.
Bob George 23:40
Ron, we had a young man that I led to Christ in a Bible study that I was teaching. He had been a bartender, and he grew like crazy in the Lord and saturated himself in the Word of God. And he was with our ministry. Helped in many, many different ways, helped in teaching assignments. But the thing that I noticed about Tim, above all things, I can say the same thing with Bob, Christopher. They saturated, they saturated themselves into the Word of God. They knew the word of God, and they knew it, and they were with me long enough Tim was Tim Stevenson that there was a calling of a pastor out in in outside of Louisville, which is not too far from Dallas. And Tim was called to pastor that church. Well, that church is growing like crazy, and he didn’t have a day of seminary. Right. He had teaching out of the Word of God and and he’s a phenomenal pastor, and why he knows the word of God. That’s what a pastor is supposed to be there for, not to learn how to dip people or whatever it is, but to learn how to communicate the Word of God to people so that it will change their lives. So, yeah, that’s there’s an example. There’s a typical example of a guy that had no seminary training at all, but he was trained intently in the Word of God and how to depend upon the Spirit of God to reveal truth to him. Right. Yeah. So yep, I agree, that’s the key. Yep, it sure is. Brother.
Caller 3 25:13
If it were up to me, I had to shut down every seminarian Bible college in the country.
Bob George 25:19
Well, I think you’re, I think your Bible colleges, again, if we would just get past, if we get teachers to who really understood the grace of God, Bible, you know, Bible teaching could be phenomenal. I think that in Capenray, which is major Thomas’s Bible colleges that he has, it’s a two year Bible college, I think, but they teach the saving life of Christ, and so they do a lot of good in that realm. So it’s not that the colleges themselves are bad, it’s the teaching sometimes it’s bad. So if you had teachers who were not puffed up with pride so much, to say, you’ve got to you got to teach it, as I do, but to say, Look this, you’re going to have to check this out on your own. And if you disagree with what I teaching you come back to me, because I’m not sitting here saying that I got a handle on everything. And so if you if you really were teaching students with that attitude, it would be a different deal. The years that I talked down at Crystal Bible Institute, the years that I taught their discipleship, we produced some guys in there that really gained confidence in the fact that they and the Holy Spirit can understand what the what the Bible is saying, and today are using it out in pastors today. Yeah, okay, thank you much, Bob, you’re welcome, Ron, Thanks for your call, brother. God bless you, my friend.
