Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P1174 (10-16-26)

~ Rather, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

In 1 Corinthians 2:9–10, the Apostle Paul sets an absolute boundary between natural human capacity and divine reality, writing, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.” Human research, natural observation, and academic credentials hit a hard ceiling when attempting to comprehend the things of God. The unsealed natural mind, operating strictly on human logic and carnal reasoning (sarx), can only function within the horizontal frequencies of this world. As Scripture warns, the natural man cannot receive or understand the things of the Spirit of God because they are spiritually discerned, sounding like complete foolishness to secular intellect and religious gatekeepers alike.

Yet God does not leave His family in the dark. Paul immediately declares in verse 10 that “God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.” The Holy Spirit searches all things—even the deep, hidden mysteries of God. Just as a person’s own native spirit is the only entity that truly knows their internal thoughts, only the indwelling Spirit of God knows and decodes the sovereign decrees of the Father. Bypassing human middle-men, seminary credentials, and institutional gatekeeping, the Holy Spirit indwells the sealed believer, acting as an un-scrambled internal guidance frequency that opens our eyes to comprehend everything freely given to us at the cross.

The climax of Paul’s argument arrives in verse 16 with the staggering declaration: “But we have the mind of Christ.” The exact microsecond the Holy Spirit indwells a believer, He fuses with our native human spirit as one, granting us the literal indwelling mind of the Creator. We are no longer open receivers floating in confusion under the Firmament; we possess the vertical authority to forensically examine, sift, and judge all horizontal broadcasts, human traditions, and false doctrines. By resting in His finished verdict and tuning our internal receivers directly to the Spirit of Truth, we step out of human guesswork and walk in the un-scrambled clarity of His revealed Word.

Matthew, calling from San Diego, asked how to weigh formal education against spiritual revelation; Bob distinguished general academic learning from understanding the Bible, saying education can be useful but that spiritual understanding depends on the Holy Spirit and a humble attitude. Ed, an 89-year-old caller, raised the apparent tension between the Bible saying Jesus was tempted and the claim that God cannot be tempted by evil; Bob answered that temptations were presented to Jesus but, because He had no sin nature, He was not susceptible to them. Mark from Denver asked about the signs described in Mark 16, including healing, casting out demons, handling snakes, and drinking poison. Bob emphasized that many early manuscripts do not include Mark 16:9–20 and argued that these signs should not be treated as a norm for believers. Finally, Mark from Kitchener asked how to pray when he did not know God’s specific will, particularly about a friend’s wife who was dying of cancer. Bob encouraged seeking guidance in Scripture, expressing one’s heartfelt hopes while entrusting the outcome to God, and finding comfort in the belief that death brings a believer into God’s presence. Across the program, Bob returned to themes of humility, reliance on Scripture and the Holy Spirit, faith, and accepting God’s will.
