Most Who Claim to be in Christ Today are Not in Christ

~ “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.” Galatians 5:22-26

~ Most people have a wrong understanding of the gospel. They think getting their sins forgiven is the gospel, and that is NOT the gospel. Jesus took away everyone’s sins away at the cross and is no longer counting anyone’s sins against them. And the reason He did that is so He could give Life to everyone that places Faith in Him. Most understand a lie of the gospel. Most believe they get their sins forgiven when they ask for forgiveness from God. But that is a lie of Satan, of more forgiveness being given out by God, that is spread throughout most Christian ministries and churches today. It’s no difference than a Catholic going back to the confession booth, or a Protestant using the wrong interpretation of 1 John 1:9 for ongoing forgiveness. The bottom line, without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness, and we know that Jesus is never going to die on the cross ever again. Don’t listen to the teaching of Man, but listen to the teaching of God. Don’t place your faith in any minister, or teacher, or pastor of some church, only focus on the Truth from the Word of God. And we know that Jesus is TRUTH. Allow the Holy Spirit to teach you ALL Truth. And lean not on your own understanding of anything today. For we were all taught Satan’s lies from birth. That’s why we must have our mind’s renewed by the Word of God.

So if people today are not exhibiting the teaching of Truth in their lives, the most likely case is they are not saved. And we are told that the person who is in Christ Jesus, judges ALL things. 1 Corinthians 2:15 Is it not better to make sure a person is saved, rather than assume they are saved? Don’t you think the Spirit of God is letting you know that the person is not likely saved and would want you to share the gospel with them? Are we not to make sure our loved ones are saved? Are we not to make sure that they understand the True gospel? Do you really think God wants us to be quiet about Truth? Where does it say that we should be quiet about the gospel in the scriptures? It doesn’t say it anywhere! On the contrary, we are to be BOLD in the Spirit and proclaim TRUTH to everyone. “Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will boldly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it fearlessly, as I should. Ephesians 6:18-20

A caller asked about people that have no fruit of the Spirit.
Bob responds:

“I think that you pray for him and when opportunities do come up to be able to try to find out, I’ll tell you. One thing you might ask Steve is this, I would say to him, just to. A matter of information. What is your understanding of the gospel? You know, we talk about the gospel, What’s your understanding? I would bet 1,000% Steve, that he’ll say, Jesus died for my sins. And that’s not the gospel. That’s only half the gospel. And there’s a lot of people who have never gone beyond forgiveness to the resurrected life. Steve, I think when you get back to the basics, and to do it in a nice way of just, you know, saying, Hey Brother, let me ask you a question. What, what is your understanding? There’s so many different understandings of the gospel out there. What’s your understanding of the gospel? Ask it in that way that I’m not accusing you or trying to trick you in this question. But you know, there’s so many, there’s so many theologies out there. What’s your understanding of the gospel? And see what he says. And I would almost guarantee you, Steve, that he’ll say, Jesus died for your sins, and that’s it. And if that is the case, you can take him then to Romans five, where it says, while we were yet enemies, that means lost, we were reconciled to God through the death of his son. How much more having been reconciled shall we be saved by His life? And to explain that you’re not saved by the death of Christ, you’re saved by the resurrected life of Christ, Jesus, you’re saved from the consequence of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is eternal life. And to be real, honest with you, Steve, most Christians have missed that entirely. We have been streaming people down aisles for years and years and years come forward and get your sins forgiven. That’s a lie. Your sins were forgiven while you were yet enemies. Your sins were forgiven. You were born a forgiven person, but that forgiveness that was provided for you then at the cross is only received in the resurrected life of Christ Jesus. That’s why Paul said that without the resurrection, we’re to be pitied of all people and are still in our sins, knowing full well that a cross that occurred where Jesus took away your sins, but also knowing that that forgiveness provided is only received in his resurrection. And I believe that’s where you see people playing the game and trying to live a life that either they don’t have or having a life that they don’t live. And I think the root of either one of those situations is not having a clear cut understanding of what the gospel is.” ~ Bob George
