Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P723 (04-07-22)
Jesus Fulfilled The Law
How many times have we heard, Jesus fulfilled the law, yet people will say things like, the law now still has to be obeyed? Or they will say things like the Holy Spirit will now bring you into obedience to the law? Anyone that is still trying to live under law has not had the law do its work in them. For those in Christ Jesus are not under the old covenant that brings death, the law of the 10 Commandments. For the Holy Spirit lives in the believer today and we are under a new covenant, one in which the Spirit gives Life.
2 Corinthians 3:6
6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

The first caller Michelle called from Santa Rosa, California. Her question was in regards to hearing that the law was fulfilled by Jesus, yet she was hearing from others that you must now obey the law.
Bob goes into lots of details in regards to this lie of Satan that a person in Christ Jesus will either obey the law or still consider themselves to be under the law. And quite frankly, they indeed may still be under the law, because the law is not for the righteous, but for the lost. Listen in as he explains more in detail.
1 Timothy 1:9
9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,

The next caller was Don, calling from Stockton, California. He wanted to let Bob know what he had learned through the ministry. And he mentioned to Bob about his book Classic Christianity, and how other people, including pastors were using it to learn about the new covenant and understanding that it is “Christ is in me and the only hope of glory.”
Listen in on the conversation with Bob and Don on the air.
A third caller, Rick called from Torrance, California. His question was in regards to a brother that accepted Christ as a child and then got into addiction and wound up in jail. The question was more toward demon possession when Rick asked Bob’s opinion on casting out unclean spirits. Rick said, “I want to know how you feel about pastors, who cast you out, unclean spirits in the name of Jesus.”
With that in mind, listen in as Bob answer the question directly. “Being born of the Spirit.” Getting the wrong one out and getting the right one in.
The next caller, Don called from Corsicana, Texas. He mentioned that he grew up in a Baptist church. He heard about being once saved, always saved and he said no one could tell him why that is the case. He heard that ther was chastisement for the believer.
Bob explains why salvation is life and because Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins, the sins of the whole world, then there is no more chastisement or punishment for sins. The reason is, because Jesus took all the punishment for us.
Bob then goes onto explain what the discipline of the Lord is. Discipline is not punishment.
