Understanding Repentance, A Change of Mind

~ “It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age— and then have fallen away—to be restored to repentance, because they themselves are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to open shame.” Hebrews 6:4-6

~ The lie of Calvinism permeates the teaching throughout the false churches today. Many times it is subtle, and other times it is not so subtle. Many adhere to all five points of Calvinism, and some only adhere to one or two points. But no matter what, if anyone is adhering to any part of Calvinism, they are listening to the lies of Satan. Satan knew exactly what he was doing by creating the Calvinism doctrine. And yes, it was created by Satan and his transformed ministers. Make no mistake about it, it was done intentionally to nullify the Word of God. It’s no different than Satan saying the lie to Adam and Eve, “surely you will not die.” In this case Satan is saying, “surely Jesus didn’t die for the sins of the whole world.”

The issue today is calling a spade a spade. People that refuse to acknowledge the sins of the whole world have been taken away, are those that have NOT repented of the TRUTH of the word of God. They say they have, but by their very actions they show they have Not repented (changed their mind). And a person cannot be brought back to repentance, because they never did repent in the first place. It’s an impossibility to bring someone back to repentance. Here they are sitting in the pews, saying they believe Jesus died for all their sins, now they ask for more forgiveness by God. Yet when you question them, and say to them, “I thought you agreed with God all your sins were taken away at the cross?” and then they will say, “but we got to confess them to get more forgiveness.” How much sense does that make? It is nothing more than double talk, and they are mocking the death of Jesus on the cross every time they ask for forgiveness. They don’t care about Truth. All they care about is that it makes them feel so good to ask God to forgive them. These are the very same people that the book of Hebrews is talking about. They are openly bringing the death of Jesus on the cross to public disgrace. And ALL denominations do it, and subscribe to it.

Bob George discussed Calvinism, emphasizing that Jesus died for the sins of the entire world, not just the elect. He criticized the limited atonement view, arguing that salvation is through Christ’s life, not just His death. George explained that while God’s will is for all to repent, not everyone will respond. He clarified Hebrews 6:4-6 and 10:26-27, stating they refer to those who never truly repented. Bob also addressed the sovereignty of God, explaining that everyone has the opportunity to accept Christ. “Well, I believe what the Bible says. There’s no such thing as dying for the elected. No such thing as limited atonement, atonement. One of the problems Scott that you ran into this Calvin didn’t understand salvation through life. He understood forgiveness of sins, but he equated forgiveness of sins with salvation. And when you do that, why then you cannot believe that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, which it says. So you have to come up with something else. Because if He died for the sins of the whole world, why then that would mean universal salvation? We know that’s not true. So you had to come up with some, some kind of a, in my opinion, harebrained idea as to what, who he died for. But the issue is that Jesus took away the sins of the entire world, and then had, then was prepared to deal with the consequence of sin. See, there’s a difference between sin and a consequence to sin. The consequence to sin is death, and the only solution to death is life. And that’s why it says in Romans that while we were yet enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son. How much more having been reconciled? Shall we be saved by His life? You’re not saved by the death of Christ. You’re saved by the life of Christ. And so many, many people are walking around thinking they’re saved because they came to Jesus for what he did, instead of coming to Jesus for who he is and receiving his life, the resurrected life of Christ Jesus. Many times, God, I’ve asked people, what’s the meaning of the cross, and they’ll all tell you, it’s where Jesus forgave sin, but she has What’s the meaning of the resurrection? They sit there and stare at you. So the issue is that the resurrection is the focal point of Christianity, and that’s why Paul said, without the resurrection, we’re to be pitied, of all people and are still in our sins. Well, he certainly understood that the cross took place, but he also understood that, apart from coming to his resurrected life, that that forgiveness that was provided at the cross is not received. It’s only received in Him. In Him, you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. And so where that limited atonement is off and that Calvinism is off is because Calvin was off, and where he was off was not understanding that salvation is life instead of salvation is merely getting your sins forgiven. Christ died and took away the sins of the entire world. God was in Christ reconciling the whole world unto Himself, not counting their sins against them, back to Adam, forward to eternity, and then, having accomplished that, is now able to offer you and me eternal life. Because once he gave us life, Scott, the only thing that could cause that life to depart from us would be sin, and that’s why we have eternal life, is because of the consequence of the cross, and had he not taken away the cause of sin, He could have never given us eternal life. And that’s also why Jesus said that the world’s sin singular is unbelief in me. And so when we come to Christ, not just for what he did for us, but for Christ coming to live in us and to free us from the consequence of sin, which is death by the gift of God, which is life. And we come alive in Christ those that forgiveness that was provided for us is received, and that’s only to those who come to Christ by faith. And so that’s where to me, I take great exception with the Calvinistic teaching, because I think the what took place there, and I know there’s a lot of dear people in that movement, but I’m just saying what took place there was the premise was off. And when the premise is off, the findings are going to be off. And the premise was that you’re saved by getting your sins forgiven, and so you cannot accept the universality of the forgiveness of sin, because that would be like I say that would be universal salvation, which we know is not, could not be. So he cleared the deck for the divine action of bringing life to the dead.” ~ Bob George
