No One is Saved By The Death of Jesus, We Are Saved By His Life

~ “For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him! For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! Not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” Romans 5:6-11

~ Most people think that a person gets saved when they ask for forgiveness of sins by God. That is NOT the case. God forgave the sins of the whole world at the cross. That was a past action on God’s part. He took away the sins of the world, and is no longer counting anyone’s sins against them. So if a person wants to be saved, they get saved from the consequences of sins which is death. And the opposite of death is Life. So that when a person places Faith in Jesus, to have done what He said He did on the cross, then the Holy Spirit comes to indwell a person for Eternal Life. Nothing can kick out the Holy Spirit of God, not even our own sinning.

Bob George addressed callers’ questions on eternal security, tithing, and unity in Christianity. He clarified that eternal security is based on being clothed in Christ’s righteousness, ensuring one’s name is never blotted out of the Book of Life. He criticized the practice of tithing, emphasizing New Testament giving should be joyful and voluntary. On unity, he stressed that true unity is based on a shared understanding of Scripture. He also discussed the importance of recognizing that Jesus’ death took away sins eternally, offering life to the spiritually dead. “I think I’ve spotted your problem here, Janine, and let me help you with this, because we’re very limited for time. Jesus went to a cross 2000 years ago to take away from the eyes of God the sins of the entire world. These sins that you’re talking about right now are out of the eyes of God. And he took the sins away from the eyes of God eternally. That was an eternal act that God did now. And people say, Well, you’re saved by believing that, no, you’re not, because you’re saved from the consequence of sin. There’s a consequence to sin called death, and spiritual death and forgiveness at the Cross cannot bring life to the dead. Resurrection is what brings life to the dead. The resurrection of Jesus was so that that life that raised Him from the dead can now come and live in you and raise you from your state of spiritual death. Now in religion, all you hear about is how sinful you are and how you got to get your. Sins forgiven, and never talk about the consequence of sin being death. And therefore we go forward sometimes to get our sins forgiven and go back to the Pew as dead as we went to the altar, because we don’t come to Jesus to get forgiveness. You come to Jesus to get life, new life, Christ, in you your hope of glory, and in him, you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, what was provided for you, then is received at his resurrection. And so Janine, if you want to be saved, you’re going to be saved by recognizing that God, if I am dead, spiritually, which indeed I am, I want your life, and I want you to come into my heart and to give me your life, and when I get that life, I will get the forgiveness of sin was provided for me at the cross.
