The Promise of Eternal Life

John 11:25-26 “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'”

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John 6:40 “For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

When talking with others, the most important thing is to make sure they are a true believer in Jesus. There are many people today who say they believe in Jesus, but quite frankly, they are believing in a different Jesus. They have not heard the Truth of the Gospel itself.

God is a God of logic. Everything matches up to the word of God. If you have to force the pieces of the puzzle together in order to make things fit, then you are off the foundation built on Jesus Himself. Even for the child of God who focuses on themselves after they are saved, the Holy Spirit is always in the process of renewing our minds. Because, quite honestly, we all bring lots of old baggage to the table when it comes to understanding TRUTH, especially today.

So, start with a firm foundation to begin with: God was in Christ Jesus reconciling the world to Himself and is NOT counting anyone’s sins against them today. That is the heart and soul of the Gospel message—a reality that very few exercise faith in, despite what they say they believe.

When a person is going down the wrong path, the Holy Spirit is constantly disciplining each of us who are in Christ Jesus, and some will be hit harder than others when they realize the discipline of Jesus that is constantly upon them. Eventually, they will realize the full Gospel message that Jesus took care of the sin issue at the cross so they could be indwelt by Jesus Himself, allowing God to work through them to share TRUTH with others. They will stop focusing on themselves and start focusing on Jesus Himself.

Bob George, on his radio show, addresses callers’ questions about Christianity. Jennifer from Lubbock seeks advice on discussing Christianity with her friend who is interested but has questions about homosexuality. Bob emphasizes the importance of focusing on the gospel and the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Tommy from Augusta inquires about 1 Corinthians 13:9-10, and Bob explains that the Bible is the complete revelation of God, ending the need for prophecies and tongues. John from San Diego expresses gratitude for Bob’s teachings, which helped him understand grace. Carl from Atlanta confirms Jesus had four brothers, and Hal from Concord appreciates Bob’s consistent message over the years.

Jennifer, what you’re dealing with when you’re when you’re talking to somebody and you’re wanting to witness to them, you have to stick with the gospel. It’s the gospel that saves. Homosexual talking about homosexuality is an exercise in futility. Talking about religion is an exercise in futility. Talking about whether you ought to be baptized or not is an exercise in futility. The gospel is the death and the burial and the resurrection of Christ Jesus. And until we see our condition, we have to see ourselves as sinners. If we don’t see ourselves as sinners, then why do we need the cross of Christ Jesus? We don’t need it. I’m okay. You’re okay. If I do not understand, and we were talking about this today, that that this truth has been evidently buried under a debris for all of these years, as to what the consequence of sin is. It’s death. It’s not a paddling. It’s not taking people to the woodshed. It’s not well. I’m gonna I’m gonna take money away from you. All of this, it’s death, and the wages of sin is death, and that’s a that is upon each and every one of us. We’re born into this world with our sins taken away, but the consequence of sin, called death, is upon each and every one of us, and the only solution to death is life, and you just have to ask a person: Do you know anybody that’s capable of giving spiritual life to the spiritually dead? You think the Pope can do that, or or the Muslim people, or Buddhism? There was only one person raised from the dead: Christ Jesus, and that’s why he’s the only one capable of giving us life. He’s the only one ever had a life to give us. We were born dead. Adam was created alive, and Jesus was born alive. The only man ever born alive on the face of the earth. That’s why he’s the only one could lay his life down for us. As I said, he’s the only one that had one. And so that’s what you have to stick with, Jennifer. Don’t let these smoke screens get in the way. You have to be able to get it to go back to say, this is how you’re saved. What you feel about homosexuality right now is based strictly upon natural thinking. You natural man cannot understand spiritual things. It’s foolish to him. Until you come to Christ Jesus, there are spiritual things that you are not going to be able to understand. Doesn’t make any difference how bad you seek, how much you study. You’re not going to be able to understand them until you’re indwelt by the Spirit, and you just stick with that. Don’t get off of it. She tries to get you. Off of it, come right back to the gospel, and that’s the death, burial, and resurrection, and why we needed His death on the cross to pay our sins. Why we needed that was because we’re sinners, and there’s no way that man can forgive our sins. That’s something only God can do, and He chose to come to this earth and enter into our humanity with us, so that we could enter into His deity with Him through His resurrection. So just stick in that; don’t get off of it. She’d probably throw every kind of smoke screen under the sun, and that’s all those are smoke screens. And I wouldn’t let her do it. I just say we’re not going to go there. If if you’re interested, see, are you interested in spiritual things? Are you interested in Jesus? You know, and no, her. That’s what I’d ask. Are you interested in spiritual things, or are you interested in Jesus? Because you you’re going to study spiritual things all over the place and never understand it until you come to the one, the only spiritual one, who is Christ Jesus. So I just keep hammering on him, and and don’t let her take you down a primrose path someplace.

Well, thank you, John. I appreciate that, and it’s you know I get God uses different people and uses different personalities and everything else. And I, I have, I guess, always have been kind of a direct person and no nonsense. I don’t like. I don’t like nonsensical things. I really don’t. I don’t like. I don’t. I don’t like. People who think illogically-I mean, I don’t like them. I don’t like the illogical type of thinking. And what I what I have found is, how could you find anything any more logical than God? The logic of God. There’s a divine logic in in in Christianity that people have missed, and and it is a logic, and once we grab a hold of that, they are premises and foundation stones that we grab a hold of. That, quite frankly, is what makes us strong as rocks. And so, I appreciate the fact that God is revealing these things to you the same way He has to me and and to others, and you’re growing in grace, and it’s obvious listening to you’re growing in grace.

John 6:28,29

29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you should believe in Him whom He has sent.”
