Understanding The Reality of The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

The cross was were we were reconciled to God, but the resurrection is for LIFE.
Yes Jesus said, “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly” (John 10:10). Yet the average professing Christian is saying. “There is nothing abundant about my life. I know my sins are forgiven and that I am going to heaven, but what about today! I still experience doubts, fears, frustrations, and defeat. Surely there must be something more to this Christian life.”
There is and it comes from understanding the fullness of the gospel. Most people when asked, “What is your understanding of the gospel?” respond, “Christ died for my sins.” This is only part of the gospel. Christ was also raised from the dead, and it is through His resurrection that we see the full gospel. The full gospel can be summed up like this:
Jesus Christ gave His life for us;
so that He could give His life to us;
so that He can live His life through us.
Jesus Christ died giving His life for us. He was raised to give His life to us. It is because of this that we take a closer look at the reality of the resurrection.
God’s Wisdom Revealed by the Spirit
1 Corinthians 2:6-16
6 We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for,
“Who has known the mind of the Lord
so as to instruct him?”But we have the mind of Christ.
The Holy Spirit is the one that teaches us all truth. We need to be in total dependency on the Spirit that lives inside every believer. If it were not for the Spirit living in the born again believer we would not be able to understand the things of God. But he tells us that we have the mind of Christ!
It’s important to understand that a person is not saved by the death of Jesus but by His Life. His life brings life to the lost person:
Romans 5:10
10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
We were born dead. We needed life. The first Adam died spiritually on the day he sinned. The Holy Spirit left Adam and that very day Adam died. Now, we are born dead to God and need life. Jesus offers us eternal life in Him! Jesus is called the last Adam, because Jesus is the first born among the dead. Jesus was the only Man ever born alive physically. Jesus became sin for you and me and died on the cross for the sins of the whole world. He forgave us all our sins so that He could give us eternal life when we place faith in Him.
Jesus fulfilled the law of God perfectly for us. We could not do it, so He did it for us. At the cross Jesus paid the debt for our sins so that He could offer eternal life for everyone that places faith in Him! We become Born Again when Jesus gives us eternal life the very moment we place faith in Him.
John 11:25-26
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
