Classic Christianity – Bob George – Chosen in Him Part 1 (04-28-25)

Bob George Presents: Chosen in Him Part 1

~ The Apostle Paul Was a HEBREW
~ It’s important that we understand, that Paul was a Hebrew, and not a Jew. And most do not understand that Hebrews are not Jews and Jews are NOT Hebrews. The word Jew was substituted in the word of God in the 18th century and replaced the original words of God with the made-up word ‘Jew’ and was added to the scriptures and replaced the original words Yahudah and Ioudaios. Ἰουδαίους (Ioudaious) and is Judaean, which are obviously NOT the word Jew to even the most casual observer. And well meaning people (including all of us) today have been fooled by this identity theft by Satan, of thinking God’s chosen people are a different race of people than who they really are. And as a reminder, once again, remember that the temple was completely destroyed, and ALL the original birth records were ALSO destroyed at the time. So there is no way to prove they are who they say they are.

A Jew is not Yahudah (Yahudiym-plural) or Ioudaios. Jews are Canaanite-Edomite Idumeans.

But here is the thing, even researching this today, we can find this of speaking of themselves, of modern Jews “Edom is in modern Jewry” (The Jewish Encyclopedia, 1925 edition, Vol. 5, Page 41).

Isn’t it interesting, that they say that of themselves? And a reminder, Canaanites and Edomites are the enemies of the True Hebrews. Do the research, it’s at your fingertips.

So let’s set the record straight, Paul was a HEBREW, and Not a Jew.

~ “Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.

Watch out for those dogs, those workers of evil, those mutilators of the flesh! For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh— though I myself could have such confidence.

If anyone else thinks he has grounds for confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin; a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; as to zeal, persecuting the church; as to righteousness in the law, faultless.

But whatever was gain to me I count as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things as loss compared to the surpassing excellence of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ,a the righteousness from God on the basis of faith.

I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to Him in His death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.” Philippians 3:1-11

…..

And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.

~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12

~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26

Pray to God:

Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”

~ “We have people today who will claim to be prophets. I don’t know where they get that. I guess it’s just their own ego, or whatever you want to call it, that suddenly decides that they’re a prophet of some kind. But prophets and people, people who are called themselves an apostle, were apostles named by God, and there aren’t any more apostles. An apostle in the Bible times had to be a person who had been with Christ, Jesus from his his baptism and witnessing his death, burial and resurrection, and there isn’t anybody around that old. And so that is an impossibility for people who want to claim themselves to be apostles, to be apostles.

They were the ones who were able to write the New Testament. The New Testament had to be written in the language of Greek, which was the most explicit language still to this day on the face of the earth. And it had to be written by an apostle or an amanuensis of an apostle. In other words, someone had had personal contact with the living Christ. Otherwise, whatever was written is not in a canon. There are 1000s of pieces of literature that are written by people that want it to be in Scripture, but is not considered scripture, never by the early fathers or by Christ Himself. And so that is kind of a background of apostleship.” ~ Bob George

Welcome to Classic Christianity Radio with Bob George as we enter into Easter season, we are reminded how much we are loved and accepted by God. Jesus willingly died on the cross so that we could have complete forgiveness for our sins. So many people say that they were saved because their sins were forgiven, but that is only half of the gospel. Man is not merely saved by the death of Christ, but by the life of Christ. Romans 5:30 says that, For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his son, how much more having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life? Jesus came to give us life. He came to this earth to identify with us in our death, so that we could identify with him in his resurrection, join Bob George as he teaches us about the true meaning of the resurrection. Jesus Christ gave His life for us so that he could give his life to us so that he could live his life through us.

Bob George 0:27
Well, let’s turn to the book of Ephesians. This book was written by the Apostle Paul somewhere in between 60 and 62 AD when he was a prisoner in Rome. If you go back to the 19th chapter of the book of Acts, you don’t need to turn there, but you’ll see there that how Paul opened up the ministry in the book of Ephesus and to the people in Ephesus, and in that city of Ephesus was a large contingency of both HEBREWS and Gentiles, and because of this, there was controversy. That’s the reason these books are written is to either cure a controversy or to encourage people. And in the book of Ephesians, it’s a bit of both, but basically it’s for the purpose of clearing up the difference, if there is one, between the HEBREW and the Gentile. And so he starts out by saying, Paul an apostle of Christ, Jesus, by the will of God, in other words, establishing himself with the fact that he was an apostle of Christ, Jesus, not by human means.

We have people today who will claim to be prophets.

And so that is kind of a background of apostleship.

He said to the saints of Ephesus, the faithful in Jesus Christ, Grace and Peace be to you from God, our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. And again, we talked about last night, guys. And it is so important for us to understand the truth of this, that tradition, even to this day in J@@aism, is when you greet someone, is to greet them with the term shalom, meaning peace. And you would think that that’s the way Paul would address his people, but he always addressed them as Grace and peace be unto you. And all through the Scripture, there’s never just peace, it’s grace and peace. Why Paul knew that there was no such thing as peace? Because true peace has to come from God, and there is no such thing as being the recipient of the peace of God that passes all understanding apart from the grace of God, and until you are basking in the grace of God, you are never going to have peace in your heart. You can talk about it, but it’s just empty talk, kind of like our politicians, just empty talk, but there’s no reality. There’s no reality. And God doesn’t want us to live with empty talk. He wants us to live with a reality, not to just talk about Jesus, but to know Jesus and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, so that we can be controlled and filled with the Spirit. And so he says Grace and peace to you from God, our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. US praise to the God and Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing. And we talked about last week how the fact that we have already been blessed in the heavenly realms, God is dealing with us, folks on a spiritual level, all of these things that he did have been done spiritually for you and me. And so he says he chose us in him, before the creation of the world, to be holy and blameless in his sight, and He predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Christ Jesus, in accordance with the pleasure of His will. Now I want to stop there for just a moment, because when you’re talking about being adopted, we say, who is God talking to here? Now here you’ve got a group of people who are HEBREWS and a group of people who are Gentiles. To the HEBREW, they’re saying we are God’s chosen people, Gentiles. You are not. You’re Johnny come latelys. And to the Gentiles are saying, Who do you think you are? We’re just as saved as you are. And they’re saying, No, you’re not. You haven’t been circumcised, you haven’t been brought up with the law, you haven’t been brought up with the prophets, you haven’t been brought up with all these things we’ve been in God for years, and you’re just now Johnny Come Lately, and they’re saying, No, I’m as saved as you are. So there was a conflict that’s there that Paul had to solve.

Now, if you turn back with me to Romans nine, go back to Romans nine with me. Tell me when you got it. Group. Uh, verse four, well, let’s just start with the with uh, chapter nine, I speak the truth in Christ. I’m not lying, and my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit. Now I’m going to tell you something, folks. This takes a lot for somebody like the apostle Paul to say, Listen what he’s saying. I have great sorrow and increasing anguish in my heart, for I wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race, the people of Israel. Paul was saying, I would give up my salvation if my people would just respond to the gospel. Now, guys, that kind of annihilates this stupid thought that you are predestined, but you’re not. He is saying that I would give up my own salvation for the sake of my people. Now, if he thought that God chose who was going to be saved and who wasn’t. How could you say that? He’s saying I’d give up. I want my people to know, Christ. What a statement I want to ask you a question, because I can certainly answer this for me. Would any of you make that statement? Lord, I’d give up my salvation if these Gentiles would just come to Christ. My feeling is I got mine. How are you doing? But I want to tell you something. Paul was such a tenacious human being, and I think had such a deep understanding of what salvation was, and such a deep understanding that if you don’t have Christ, you do not have anything. And if you do not have Christ, Jesus, you are not going to go to heaven. You’re going to go into eternal punishment in hell. We gloss over that. We say, I believe that, but in our hearts is all of this thing. How could God do that? Well, God didn’t do that. God just established heaven. And when he established heaven, anything that’s not heaven is hell. And he gave man the choice that you can either choose to live eternally in the presence of God, or you can choose to live eternally in the presence of Satan. It’s your choice. God doesn’t condemn anyone to hell. We condemn ourselves to hell by refusing to come to Christ for life. Paul understood that with all of his heart, not just the head knowledge, but it was so deep in there that he would be able to make that statement. There is no way in the world that a man could make that statement, if this was not so that the truth of what he writes in this book is so deep, much deeper than I think I will ever attain. It’s so deep that he was able to say, I’d give up my own salvation for the sake of my people. Felt sorry for them.

Theirs is the adoption as sons. Now there’s where you come up with Ephesians. When they talk about we are to be adopted, he’s talking to the HEBREWS. Theirs is the adoption. Theirs is the divine glory the HEBREWS. Theirs is the covenant to the HEBREW is the receiving of the law, not the Gentiles, the HEBREWS. To the HEBREW is temple worship and the promises. To the HEBREW were the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all and forever praised, amen. So to he’s saying here to a group of HEBREWS and Gentiles that we as HEBREWS because Paul included himself in that he was a HEBREW. We were predestined to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the pleasure of His will. Now what is he saying, Thomas, you’re predestined, but, but, but Ellen, you’re not? That’s why you got to go to these seminars, is try to get in. Is that what he said? How to think about it, folks that he’s talking about the fact that in love, He predestined us to be adopted as sons. And then he’s saying, I’d give up my salvation for the sake of the HEBREWS. He’s saying that there is a resistance to the gospel, that there is a blindness in people’s hearts.

To this day, when you talk about Jesus, it’s like a wall goes down. When we go someplace and all of a sudden says Bob, George is a pastor. There’s a wall, you may as well just build a wall and it’s around you. Here’s something unusual. To the world today, unlike back then, but today we’re we live in today, you say, what? How does the lost world perceive Christians? I don’t necessarily go to church, but I do watch television occasionally. Now, wouldn’t you like to get a real good glimpse of what Christians are like by watching television? See some of them rolling around on the floor. Have you seen the ones where they march around the room? Have you ever seen that one room, marching around the room and the women there, they’re twirling around. That’s the whole program, a television program. Watch it for a half an hour, walking around the room, and then one guy that goes right down the middle, and they sing songs. You say, that’s a Christian world. Another world is positive thinking. Just think positive folks think good thoughts, and that attracts 20 and 30 and 40,000 people. We can’t get 300 in this room ever stop to wonder why?

Jesus said that He came that we might have life and have it abundantly. John, 10:10, yet the average professional Christian often says that there is nothing abundant about my life. Bob George 14:13
You ever stop to wonder why you have responded to the truth of the gospel and some people live in rebellion toward it? Have you ever thought about the four soils? You know, you have people who would rather be a Baptist and it would be a Christian, or rather be a Presbyterian than it would be a Christian, or rather be a J@@ than it would be a Christian. God didn’t come to say Baptists and Presbyterians and and HEBREWS and he came to save who people, and we put our confidence in our denominations instead of confidence in the Word of God. Folks, we live in a strange day and age. We have compromised truth at every angle of society. We kill babies by the millions and don’t think a thing of it. And our politicians don’t think anything of it. I hear statements, and it’s not political, guys. I’m not being political here today, but I hear statements out of a person that I want to teach my kids morality. But if my daughter got pregnant, I wouldn’t punish at her by having her, making her to have a baby, punish her? Have you ever thought of punishing it for having sex? Have you ever figured out that’s where babies come from? I don’t understand it. These are people that you’re going to elect President of the United States of America. We live in a very strange world. We have taken a look at the truth of the Word of God and said we don’t need the Word of God to determine truth. We’ll determine it on our own. I think many times, folks and I hate to hammer this, but I’m going to tell you something If you cannot, by faith, finalize the cross. Don’t tell me you are finalizing the resurrected life. Please don’t tell me that that’s nonsense. You’re just playing church. I know because I played church. If you cannot believe Jesus when He said, It is finished. You can’t believe him when he says, I came to live in you. Don’t tell me you do. When Christ, Jesus cried out from the cross, It is finished. He cried out, paid in what? Part or paid in full? Paid in full. And we have lived in denial of that in the Christian world, and we have concentrated on getting keeping your sins forgiven by going to the priests, or keeping your sins forgiven by going direct, and God is up in heaven saying, When are you people going to get it that it is finished? If the Bible tells us that God was in Christ, reconciling the whole world unto Himself, not counting their sins against him that is either true or that is false, and if it is true, we need to start resting and walking by faith in that truth. Instead of continually asking God to do what he’s already done, what is wrong with thanking God for what He has done? That’s truth. Instead of asking God to do, what if he did, he’d have to hang on a cross and die again to do, because without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. Oh God, please forgive me. And say, Where’s your sacrifice?

We have perverted the foundation of Christianity, and now we’re talking about the fact we got one some people then to come up and say, well, you’re just chosen a whole theology out there that is permeating through Christianity, and many times, unfortunately, permeating into good evangelical teaching denominations, hyper Calvinism. You’re predestined for salvation. You didn’t have anything to do with your salvation. Brother, I chose you, and you’re saved, whether you want to be saved or not. Well, I say that’s good. I won’t have to go witness again anymore. Sure, won’t have share Christ anymore, if that’s the case. Where did all of that begin? And the reason we’re talking about, that’s what this is talking about. Where did all that begin? It began with thinking that you’re saved by getting your sins forgiven. Folks think in your own mind. Do you think you were saved by getting your sins forgiven? Because if you do, you’re not saved. You’re saved by the life of Christ, not by the death of Christ. While we were yet enemies, we were, that’s past tense, reconciled to God. When were you reconciled to God through the death of his Son? You were born reconciled. Oh, Bob, you tell people that they’re going to go out and live like the devil. They’re living like the devil anyway.

When we were yet enemies. We were lost, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son. How much more now, having been reconciled that being an accomplished fact, shall we be saved by His life? You’re not saved by the death of Christ. You’re saved by the life of Christ. Did you come forward to get forgiveness? If you did, you came forward to get what you already got, and you can’t get what you already got. Have you ever tried to get what you have already got? I’m going to get married. I’m not already got now I’m already married. If you’re going to send people down an aisle, send them down to get what they don’t have, LIFE. Forgiveness does not give life to the dead. Life gives life to the dead, and the only life available to the dead is the resurrected Christ’s life. There, He who knew no sin became sin for you and me, so that we could become the righteousness of God, where? In him, in him, you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. It does not say in him, you get redemption and the forgiveness of sins. It says, You have redemption. The forgiveness of sins. When we come to Christ, that which was provided for us is received in the resurrected life. It’s like I said to you, Leroy, I just put ten million dollars in your bank, and you say, good news, where is it? In the Bank of Dallas. I don’t like that bank. I like that bank. I like my bank. Well, I’m sorry, Leroy, but that’s where your money is. Well, I ain’t going to go to that bank. Well, then you ain’t going to get your money. And if you refuse to go to that bank to get what’s in that bank, you will die in your sins and die broke. Not you, Leroy, but some people would. If you’re going to receive what has been provided for you, you’re going to have to go to where the money is and where the life is and where the life is is in Jesus. That’s why in him is where you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Now, so this predestination was to the HEBREWS. Did all the HEBREWS receive? No Paul said, I’ll give up my salvation if they just come to him. So not all of them are coming. They were predestined. I am going to, first of all, send my salvation to the HEBREW nation, to the people of HEBREWS, of a HEBREW background. That’s where my gospel is going first. We don’t know if there may have been someone before Cornelius, the Gentile that was saved. There may have been someone, but the Bible doesn’t record it. That was 18 years later, before the first Gentile came in. The Gospel, first went to the HEBREWS and then to the Gentiles. So the predestination was to the HEBREW world, and they were predestined to be adopted as sons through Christ Jesus, in accordance to the pleasure of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace to which he has freely given us in the one he loves, in Him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins. Where is that forgiveness received? In him. In accordance with the riches of your confession? Is that what it says? In accordance with the riches of God’s grace, folks, there are no conditions with God’s grace. God’s grace is like the unconditional love of God, the Agape love. No condition to it. I don’t love you because I don’t love you if I just plain love you, the unconditional love of God, the grace of God, one of the same. This Grace has no conditions through it. It’s just I forgave you, period. I. Did we deserve it? Can you earn it? Can you get it? You just receive it. Just receive it. That’s all you can do, is to receive the One in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

How many people are out there trying to keep their sins forgiven? I did for years. I was weaned on that. Weaned on a theory called spiritual breathing. Used to teach it had great illustrations. Hate to give them up. Every time you sin, First John, one nine, and you get your sins forgiven. We call it spiritual breathing, so you exhale and confess your sins and get them forgiven. You know what that means? They weren’t forgiven before you confessed. You know what that means? You’re denying the cross. I didn’t know it, but that’s what I was doing. Whether I knew it or not, is not the issue. That’s what I was taught, but I was in violation of the cross. You exhale, you ask God to forgive you, and then you inhale and appropriate the power of the Holy Spirit. I was taught that. It didn’t work, but I was taught that, and for the first seven years, I spiritually breathed and I spiritually panicked and I hyperventilated, until I came to the point to say, there’s something wrong with this. There is something wrong with this picture. Grace has no conditions on it. I asked one of the founders of that theology one time, do you honestly believe that your confession is what brings about God’s forgiveness? Oh, no. I said, That’s what your book says. That’s what First John one nine says, If you don’t interpret it properly, if I confess, he’ll forgive. Means if I don’t, he won’t, I don’t believe that at all. I believe that your sins have been taken at the cross. But well, then what is this? Well it keeps you in fellowship. Said, we’re in a place in the Bible. Are you bouncing in and out of fellowship? There isn’t any place in the Bible about bouncing in and out of fellowship.
