Classic Christianity – Bob George – Chosen in Him Part 2 (04-29-25)

Bob George Presents: Chosen in Him Part 2

~ We Live in Very Strange and Deceptive Times
~ How many of you can relate to the sharing of Truth, and it goes in one ear and out the other with those you are sharing it with? For example, when we tell people, Jesus did it all at the cross, it is Finished! He forgave ALL your sins and is no longer counting any of your sins against you. Most people hear that and do absolutely nothing with it. They do not exercise Faith. For if they did, they would quit doing the whole aspect of playing church and going back to God and asking over and over again for what He said, “is finished.” It seems very strange today, that we can tell people Truth, and still they ignore us. And understand this, they are not ignoring us, but they are ignoring the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of TRUTH.

Deception is running rampant in the world today. More so than people can even grasp and imagine. Nothing is as it seems. We have been taught lies since birth. So it is time to start wising up in the Holy Spirit, and allow the Spirit of God to teach us ALL TRUTH. For TRUTH only comes from God Himself. He cannot lie. And lean not on our own understanding of anything today, but in EVERYTHING take it to God in prayer.

Most of the people that think they are saved, are likely NOT saved. For if they were saved, the Holy Spirit would be teaching them Truth from the inside that matches up to the word of God. And so, don’t assume anyone is saved today. Ask them what their understanding of salvation really is? And then get down to the details. No one is saved by having their sins forgiven. And that will typically be a shock to most people, because after all they grew up in a religious setting where they believed the lies of ongoing forgiveness by God or by going to the confession booth to get right with God. And folks, it is NOT wrong to question a person’s salvation. For the spiritual man judges ALL things. “The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment.” 1 Corinthians 2:15 The lie that was taught to us all, and many passed it on down to others, was not to judge people with a verse of scripture taken way out of context about not judging others. Satan doesn’t want you sharing TRUTH with people, so he attempts to place a muzzle over our mouth. And a reminder, just because someone says they are saved, does not mean they are saved. And you will recognize them by their fruit. They may even have the proper lingo, but when it comes right down to it, they give lip service to the word of God, and they do not know God, nor does God know them, for He does not live in them. So heed the warnings for today, and reach out to folks, and find out if they are saved or not. For that is the work of the ministry, to share TRUTH with the lost, and to believe in Jesus, the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE.

Matthew 7:15-22
Jesus said, “Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’

Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’”

…..

And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.

~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12

~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26

Pray to God:

Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”

~ “We live in a very strange world. We have taken a look at the truth of the Word of God and said we don’t need the Word of God to determine truth. We’ll determine it on our own. I think many times, folks and I hate to hammer this, but I’m going to tell you something If you cannot, by faith, finalize the cross, don’t tell me you are finalizing the resurrected life. Please don’t tell me that, that’s nonsense. You’re just playing church. I know because I played church. If you cannot believe Jesus when He said, It is finished. You can’t believe him when he says, I came to live in you. Don’t tell me you do. When Christ, Jesus cried out from the cross, It is finished. He cried out, paid in what? Part or paid in full? Paid in full. And we have lived in denial of that in the Christian world, and we have concentrated on getting keeping your sins forgiven by going to the priests, or keeping your sins forgiven by going direct, and God is up in heaven saying, When are you people going to get it that it is finished? If the Bible tells us that God was in Christ, reconciling the whole world unto Himself, not counting their sins against him that is either true or that is false, and if it is true, we need to start resting and walking by faith in that truth. Instead of continually asking God to do what he’s already done, what is wrong with thanking God for what He has done? That’s truth. Instead of asking God to do, what if he did, he’d have to hang on a cross and die again to do, because without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. Oh God, please forgive me. And say, Where’s your sacrifice?” ~ Bob George

Your Sins Have Been Forgiven by God

Announcer 0:13
Welcome to Classic Christianity Radio with Bob George as we enter into Easter season, we are reminded how much we are loved and accepted by God. Jesus willingly died on the cross so that we could have complete forgiveness for our sins. So many people say that they were saved because their sins were forgiven, but that is only half of the gospel. Man is not merely saved by the death of Christ, but by the life of Christ. Romans 5:30 says that, For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his son, how much more having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life? Jesus came to give us life. He came to this earth to identify with us in our death, so that we could identify with him in his resurrection, join Bob George as he teaches us about the true meaning of the resurrection. Jesus Christ gave His life for us so that he could give his life to us so that he could live his life through us.

Bob George 0:27
You ever stop to wonder why you have responded to the truth of the gospel and some people live in rebellion toward it? Have you ever thought about the four soils? You know, you have people who would rather be a Baptist and it would be a Christian, or rather be a Presbyterian than it would be a Christian, or rather be a J@@ than it would be a Christian. God didn’t come to say Baptists and Presbyterians and and HEBREWS and he came to save who? People. And we put our confidence in our denominations instead of confidence in the Word of God. Folks, we live in a strange day and age. We have compromised truth at every angle of society. We kill babies by the millions and don’t think a thing of it. And our politicians don’t think anything of it. I hear statements, and it’s not political, guys. I’m not being political here today, but I hear statements out of a person that I want to teach my kids morality. But if my daughter got pregnant, I wouldn’t punish at her by having her, making her to have a baby, punish her? Have you ever thought of punishing it for having sex? Have you ever figured out that’s where babies come from? I don’t understand it. These are people that you’re going to elect President of the United States of America. We live in a very strange world. We have taken a look at the truth of the Word of God and said we don’t need the Word of God to determine truth. We’ll determine it on our own. I think many times, folks and I hate to hammer this, but I’m going to tell you something If you cannot, by faith, finalize the cross. Don’t tell me you are finalizing the resurrected life. Please don’t tell me that that’s nonsense. And say, Where’s your sacrifice?

We have perverted the foundation of Christianity, and now we’re talking about the fact we got some people then to come up and say, well, you’re just chosen a whole theology out there that is permeating through Christianity, and many times, unfortunately, permeating into good evangelical teaching denominations, hyper Calvinism. You’re predestined for salvation. You didn’t have anything to do with your salvation. Brother, I chose you, and you’re saved, whether you want to be saved or not. Well, I say that’s good. I won’t have to go witness again anymore. Sure, won’t have share Christ anymore, if that’s the case. Where did all of that begin? And the reason we’re talking about, that’s what this is talking about. Where did all that begin? It began with thinking that you’re saved by getting your sins forgiven. Folks think in your own mind. Do you think you were saved by getting your sins forgiven? Because if you do, you’re not saved. You’re saved by the life of Christ, not by the death of Christ. While we were yet enemies, we were, that’s past tense, reconciled to God. When were you reconciled to God through the death of his Son? You were born reconciled. Oh, Bob, you tell people that they’re going to go out and live like the devil. They’re living like the devil anyway.

When we were yet enemies. We were lost, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son. How much more now, having been reconciled that being an accomplished fact, shall we be saved by His life? You’re not saved by the death of Christ. You’re saved by the life of Christ. Did you come forward to get forgiveness? If you did, you came forward to get what you already got, and you can’t get what you already got. Have you ever tried to get what you have already got? I’m going to get married. I’m not already got now I’m already married. If you’re going to send people down an aisle, send them down to get what they don’t have, LIFE. Forgiveness does not give life to the dead. Life gives life to the dead, and the only life available to the dead is the resurrected Christ’s life. There, He who knew no sin became sin for you and me, so that we could become the righteousness of God, where? In him, in him, you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. It does not say in him, you get redemption and the forgiveness of sins. It says, You have redemption. The forgiveness of sins. When we come to Christ, that which was provided for us is received in the resurrected life. It’s like I said to you, Leroy, I just put ten million dollars in your bank, and you say, good news, where is it? In the Bank of Dallas. I don’t like that bank. I like that bank. I like my bank. Well, I’m sorry, Leroy, but that’s where your money is. Well, I ain’t going to go to that bank. Well, then you ain’t going to get your money. And if you refuse to go to that bank to get what’s in that bank, you will die in your sins and die broke. Not you, Leroy, but some people would. If you’re going to receive what has been provided for you, you’re going to have to go to where the money is and where the life is and where the life is is in Jesus. That’s why in him is where you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Now, so this predestination was to the HEBREWS. Did all the HEBREWS receive? No Paul said, I’ll give up my salvation if they just come to him. So not all of them are coming. They were predestined. I am going to, first of all, send my salvation to the HEBREW nation, to the people of HEBREWS, of a HEBREW background. That’s where my gospel is going first. We don’t know if there may have been someone before Cornelius, the Gentile that was saved. There may have been someone, but the Bible doesn’t record it. That was 18 years later, before the first Gentile came in. The Gospel, first went to the HEBREWS and then to the Gentiles. So the predestination was to the HEBREW world, and they were predestined to be adopted as sons through Christ Jesus, in accordance to the pleasure of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace to which he has freely given us in the one he loves, in Him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins. Where is that forgiveness received? In him. In accordance with the riches of your confession? Is that what it says? In accordance with the riches of God’s grace, folks, there are no conditions with God’s grace. God’s grace is like the unconditional love of God, the Agape love. No condition to it. I don’t love you because I don’t love you if I just plain love you, the unconditional love of God, the grace of God, one of the same. This Grace has no conditions through it. It’s just I forgave you, period. I. Did we deserve it? Can you earn it? Can you get it? You just receive it. Just receive it. That’s all you can do, is to receive the One in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

How many people are out there trying to keep their sins forgiven? I did for years. I was weaned on that. Weaned on a theory called spiritual breathing. Used to teach it had great illustrations. Hate to give them up. Every time you sin, First John, one nine, and you get your sins forgiven. We call it spiritual breathing, so you exhale and confess your sins and get them forgiven. You know what that means? They weren’t forgiven before you confessed. You know what that means? You’re denying the cross. I didn’t know it, but that’s what I was doing. Whether I knew it or not, is not the issue. That’s what I was taught, but I was in violation of the cross. You exhale, you ask God to forgive you, and then you inhale and appropriate the power of the Holy Spirit. I was taught that. It didn’t work, but I was taught that, and for the first seven years, I spiritually breathed and I spiritually panicked and I hyperventilated, until I came to the point to say, there’s something wrong with this. There is something wrong with this picture. Grace has no conditions on it. I asked one of the founders of that theology one time, do you honestly believe that your confession is what brings about God’s forgiveness? Oh, no. I said, That’s what your book says. That’s what First John one nine says, If you don’t interpret it properly, if I confess, he’ll forgive. Means if I don’t, he won’t, I don’t believe that at all. I believe that your sins have been taken at the cross. But well, then what is this? Well it keeps you in fellowship. Said, we’re in a place in the Bible. Are you bouncing in and out of fellowship? There isn’t any place in the Bible about bouncing in and out of fellowship.

Jesus said that He came that we might have life and have it abundantly. John, 10:10, yet the average professional Christian often says that there is nothing abundant about my life. I know that my sins are forgiven and that I am going to heaven, but I still experience doubts, fears, frustrations and defeat. Surely, there must be more to this Christian life. Bob George 14:15
In the Bible, you’re either in the fellowship saved or out of the fellowship, lost. There’s no bouncing in and out. There isn’t any place in the Bible, it says that when you sin, God turns his back. Or everything that has ever happened to you that is wrong is because you have unconfessed sin in your life. It’s okay to have sin, just not unconfessed. Folks, we made a religion out of this. We made a tradition out of this. And folks, it’s not easy to go up against tradition, but I want to tell you something. If God reveals truth to you, you better be willing to go up against tradition and anything else you need to go up against, unless you want to be a hypocrite. I teach what I teach because I believe this with all of my heart, and the reason I believe it is because of the totality of the teaching of the Word of God. There is not one place in the Bible that tells a believer that confess his sins for forgiveness in the New Covenant, even First John one nine. We use a verse as a hobby horse. We use, call it the Christian bar of soap. And in so doing, using one verse of scripture because there isn’t any other, there’s James that says, confess your sins, one to another, that’s what we ought to be doing. And outside of that, you’re going to have to depend on First John one nine, use that one verse to negate the totality of forgiveness that was given to you by Jesus. Grace had no condition, Bob, I’m not going to consult with you. I’m just going to take away your sins from the eyes of God, and there’s only going to be one sin attributable to man, and that’s the rejection of my Son that I sent to this earth to do this for you. Why did I do it for you? Because I love you. I love you so much. I’m willing to come and die for you. Any of you willing to do that for most people? I don’t think so. I came to die for you so that raised from the dead I can come and live in you. I want you to come to me for your life. I want you to enter into what’s called in the Bible a Sabbath rest. What is the Sabbath rest? Resting from your works, just as he did from his. What do you mean resting? I mean resting in the fact that I am a forgiven person. Are you? Are you? Are you? Are you resting in the fact that I am a forgiven person? People say, Well, what about suicide? If you’re asking that question, you’re not resting. If you’re asking those kind of questions, you haven’t come to rest yet. You’re still thinking, There’s got to be a condition, there’s got to be something that I have to do. How many sins did Jesus die for when he died at the cross? I mean, the most vile things that people have ever done? Yeah. Folks, do we ever get into our minds what Jesus had to go through at that cross, when He sweat, as it were, great drops of blood, it wasn’t because he was going to have to come and be crucified. It’s because he had to come and to take upon himself the sins of the whole world, every sloppy, dirty, rotten thought that you and I have ever had, had to be placed upon Jesus at that cross, and that’s what caused him to sweat great drops of blood. Any of you feel that you could get into heaven in your own merits? And why do we act like it? Why do we act like it? I’m not as bad as him. I’m not as bad as her. I only do these sins. He does some other ones. She does some other ones.

You know, guys. What makes God sick of his stomach is self righteousness. Two kinds of righteousness in the world, God’s and yours and yours, makes him sick. He is not interested at all in how righteous you think you are. He’s only interested in your resting in the righteousness that has been imputed to you by Christ, Jesus. So that’s the gospel, guys. This is the gospel that went first to the HEBREW and then to the Gentile. And this is that. These are the things that were argued over. To the HEBREW, It says, We pursued righteousness. And it says, but you didn’t get it. The Gentile didn’t pursue it, and the Bible says they did get it. And the question is asked on there, are you telling me that we the HEBREWS, who. pursued righteousness did not achieve it, and the Gentiles who did not pursue it did. He said, Yep, you got it. Well, why? Doesn’t seem right. It seems like if I’m trying hard to get righteous, that God ought honor that, especially over these Gentile slobs that aren’t pursuing it. Doesn’t that make sense? They’re not pursuing it, and we are. And here you got a congregation like that, Gentiles and HEBREWS, and the HEBREWS saying, look, we’ve pursued this righteous the Gentiles said, Well, we didn’t pursue it, but we got it. He said, No, you couldn’t have it. You’ve never pursued it. But the Bible says, Well, why is that so? And it says, Because you pursued your righteousness, not by faith, but by works. You tried to work your way. You thought there was something you could do. You thought someplace down the line that you were in this equation of salvation.

And, folks, I got news for you there. You’re not in the equation. We have people that put baptism in the equation. You got to be baptized to be saved. People put tongues in the equation. You got to speak in tongues to be saved. People believe that. The evidence of being saved is a babel. You got to go to church to be saved. We have come up with every Tom Dick and Harry thing that you can imagine to put into this equation. And God says, the minute you put something else besides me into the equation, you’ve taken me out of the equation. Folks, it is all Him. It is none of me.

So he’s saying here that He predestined in Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins in accordance with the riches of his grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. This is God’s wisdom. God’s wisdom is what looked down on us and said, there is no hope for Bud. He’s a goner. A Garner, a Garner. Goner, it, and not only him, but all the rest of us. And yet I love him, and because I love him, I’ve given him in the past law, and said, Here’s my law. Obey it, and if you obey it, you go to heaven. Couldn’t obey it, not only him. Nobody else could either. I’ve gone for 1000s of years giving Bud and people just like him a chance. Can’t do it, failed every step of the way. But I love him, but I love him, and because I love him, I’m going to develop a plan whereby he’s out of the equation, because the minute I put him in the equation, he’s going to screw it up. And I love him, and I want him saved, so I’m going to take him out of the equation, and I’m going to say to him, Bud, the only thing that I’m asking of you is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, And you’ll be saved, period. Bud’s heart’s looking for truth. Not everybody’s heart is looking for truth. People looking for tradition. People don’t like truth. That’s why you that’s why you reject it. Bud is looking for truth. So when he heard truth, what’d he do? Responded to it. And what happened? Born Again, the wisdom of God was accomplished. My wisdom is I love you, and I’m going to do something for you that you can’t do for yourself. And all I’m going to ask of you is to accept it and believe it the wisdom of God. Why? Because there was no other way to save anybody. And Man has come in, as we usually do, and screw up everything God said and did and put ourselves into the equation.

So it says that with all wisdom and understanding and he has made known to us this mystery. Now there’s a mystery that was held in the heart of God to only be revealed in God’s timing. This mystery was that to the Gentiles, that they too would come to Christ the same way the HEBREW did, and that Christ in their hearts is their only hope of glory. That’s a mystery. Now, it says, And he has made known to us. Now it’s time for him to reveal this mystery, this mystery of his will according to His good pleasure, not ours, his which He purposed in Christ to be put into effect when the times have reached their fulfillment. Here’s part of the mystery, to bring all things in heaven and earth together under one head, that is Christ, to bring everything on this earth under one headship. And that’s Christ, Jesus. In Him, we were also now, who is the also, the Gentiles. He’s speaking to the HEBREWS. He’s speaking to the Gentiles. He just spoke to the HEBREWS. This is what God did for you, but we, also the Gentiles, were also chosen. Having been predestined, you were also predestined. Does that mean predestined? And I chose you, Thomas, but I didn’t choose your wife? No, the Gentile world, just like he went to the HEBREW world. But did all HEBREWS respond? People say the unresistable will of God, nonsense. You can resist the will of God. The whole Old Testament is man resisting the will of God. Don’t tell me. It was God’s will for his Son to have to hang on a cross and die for the sins of the world. He would have preferred that not to have taken place, but he had to, if he was going to save people. Irresistible Grace, nonsense. That’s why you got the soils. Some soils are going to receive, some are going to reject.
