Classic Christianity – How To Understand Truth – Part 2 – 6-03-26

~ God wants to reveal the deeper things of God directly to you. And all those who are in Christ Jesus have the Spirit living in them, to renew their mind with Truth. And once you begin to abide in His Spirit, to trust in Him to reveal ALL Truth to you, you will never ever be the same again. For there is much in the world that needs to be set straignt in our understanding of things, and to have our mind’s renewed. Because the things we have been taught of the world are ALL lies. Nothing in the world is as it seems to be. And there is so much more that can be told, but it must be revealed by the Spirit who lives in you. Ask Him to give you wisdom and understanding to understand the deeper things of God. The answers are there for the asking. Simply ask Him to do that for you, and Truth will flow through you like you have never understood it before. Trust in Him to do that for you. Don’t lean on your own understanding of anything. Become mature in Christ. Now is the time to grow up. For He has much to show each of us.

1 Corinthians 2:5-16

~ Among the mature, however, we speak a message of wisdom—but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we speak of the mysterious and hidden wisdom of God,a which He destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it. For if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. Rather, as it is written:

“No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no heart has imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
But God has revealed it to us by the Spirit.

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of man except his own spirit within him? So too, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. And this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.

The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment. “For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?”d But we have the mind of Christ.

And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone. Luke 18:18,19

Jesus is God in flesh: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1

Pray to God:

Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?

Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”

~ Bob George emphasizes the simplicity and accessibility of the gospel, stressing that understanding spiritual truths requires the Spirit of God. He criticizes the overcomplication of biblical studies and the reliance on human intellect, presenting that true comprehension comes through the Spirit. Bob highlights the importance of grace over the law, noting that the law is for the unrighteous, while grace is for believers. He encourages a focus on the joy of giving rather than the obligation to tithe. Bob also discusses the internal conflict between flesh and Spirit, advocating for the transformation of minds through the Spirit’s teachings.

~ “You don’t have to talk about the book of Revelation. I don’t even understand the book of Revelation. Spirit’s missed me on that, understanding that one. I keep asking him all the time, Lord, is your Spirit in this? Certainly doesn’t seem to be doing much for me. And you know what the Lord says on those things, in essence, with all, whenever I get confused on biblical interpretation, it’s always that verse to go back, my little children. There’s so much more I want to tell you. You’re not ready for it. I say, “Well, thank you, Lord, and put a check there, and I’ll get back to it when I am. I’m not having trouble with those things I don’t understand. I’m having trouble with things I do understand. And so we sit there and say, “I want to understand everything, and God says, “You can’t understand everything all at once. Give it time, a baby doesn’t understand everything, you have to mature, but maturity is going to come only as we allow the Spirit of God to teach us.

Now, folks, the problem that we run in today, especially in Christendom, is that we have used the seminaries and we’ve used biblical teaching to substitute and say, in essence, saying, don’t tell me my eye can’t see, and my ear can’t hear, and my mind cannot conceive. You don’t understand, I’ve studied Greek. Well, I got news for you, the Greeks also studied Greek. How much good has it done the nation of Greece? Folks, I want to tell you something. You can hardly find an evangelical church in Greece. Well, maybe they need to learn Hebrew. It seems to me that the people that understood Hebrew were the ones who encouraged the Romans to hang Jesus on a cross, doesn’t it? And so, what’s happened, folks is we’ve substituted, we’ve said, oh well, if you just could understand the Greek, and if you could just understand the Hebrew. Oh, you would really understand these things. I’m sorry, folks. There’s only one way to understand the word of God. Let’s allow the Spirit to reveal it to you. As you study the Word of God, all of a sudden you know what it means. How many have seen that happen to you? I hope all of you.” ~ Bob George

Bob George 0:28
As children of God, if we know the Lord and have been taught by the Lord, speak a foreign language to the world, and that’s why folks, you can’t go out to a lost person, and teach all kinds of high theology. They don’t know what you’re talking about. The only thing they know what you’re talking about is Jesus, the simplicity that is in Christ Jesus. And there’s not a soul alive that is not capable of understanding the gospel of Jesus Christ. Understanding the deeper truths, said they can’t do it, they can’t do it, they can’t understand it. Why? Natural man cannot understand spiritual things. It’s foolish to you, folks. Do we understand this? That one of the signs that you’re in Christ is being able to understand spiritual truth, and if you’re having trouble understanding spiritual truth, it may be because the Spirit of God isn’t there to teach you, and if that’s not the case, that isn’t something to sit there and beat you up, it’s something to clear, something to rectify, because there’s no reason not to be in Christ, there’s no reason to reject the unconditional love that’s in Christ Jesus, no reason at all for that. Reject religion, Amen, I reject that too, but to reject Christ, no. But you cannot understand spiritual things until you’re born again. And when the Spirit teaches you something, you’ve been taught. When a man teaches you something, another man can teach you something else, and then another one can teach you something else, and you fly around, just flying over here, all over the place, going from one to another to another to another, because the Spirit has never taught you. Trust Him to teach you. And so, what do we do to the world that’s lost? Go tell them about Jesus.

You don’t have to talk about the book of Revelation.

I hope all of you.

It says the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? And in the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now, folks, again, no one knows what you’re thinking except you. And isn’t that a good thing? Oh. Amy said many times, I’m sure glad God didn’t make me of the bubble head that people could see in what I’m thinking. Isn’t that true? Wouldn’t you hate it if everybody knew what you were thinking? None of you would be here today. Is that true or not? Just in a day’s time, the things that you and I can think, just in a day’s time. I just have to say, thank you, Jesus, that nobody knows what I’m thinking except the Spirit that lives within me. Now it says, in identically the same way, no one knows what God is thinking except His Spirit. Now I can look back at that without reading, and say there’s a problem, because if no one knows what I’m thinking except my spirit, then you can’t know what I’m thinking, and if no one knows what God is thinking except His Spirit, then how am I going to know what God’s thinking? And God says, “Keep reading.” Here’s what it says: We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. Is that good news? God said, ‘No one knows what I’m thinking except my Spirit, that at my Spirit. So, what I’m going to do, Bob, I’m going to give you my Spirit, so you know what I’m thinking. Now, I’m glad God does. I wouldn’t do that. I wouldn’t give you my spirit, so that you would know what I’m thinking. Believe me, but God said I’m going to. That’s how we understand the word of God, folks. God said, I’m going to give you my Spirit, so that you can understand what I’m thinking, and so that you can understand those things that God has freely given us. In other words, understand my grace.

Do you need to have the Spirit of God living in you to understand His law? No, because who was the law given to? The lost, those who are under the law? I at the law was given to those under the law, so that I may shut their mouth. Silence every person, and every person held accountable to God under the law. Say, the law is not given for the righteous, but the unrighteous. Well, I’m not righteous because of what I do. I’m righteous because God has imputed to me His righteousness. So, the law is not for me. The law is for the unrighteous, those who have not come to Christ by faith. So I don’t need the Spirit of God living in me to understand the law at all, but do I need the spirit of God living in me to understand grace now? If my understanding of grace is whoopee, I don’t have to do anything anymore. Do I understand grace? Has grace been revealed to you by the Spirit? No, it’s been revealed to us by our heads, and there are a lot of people who have a head knowledge of grace, and the only thing that they are concerned about on grace is what it don’t have to do, and you’ll hear people, they’ll go back and say, “Hey, I don’t have to confess my sins anymore, and they’ll tell every pastor in the United States, “I say that, and I’m about as popular as a Titanic with most of them, because of that, because that’s the first thing they go back. Poor old Major Thomas, every place he speaks, somebody goes up, says, “What do you think, First John one nine? They knows exactly if they’ve been in our seminars. Why? Because all they can think about is what I don’t have to do. That’s not the issue, folks. I am not rejoicing in the fact that I don’t have to tithe. I’m rejoicing in the fact that I get to give, but in order to get to give, I had to be free from a law of giving. And when people preach tithing, they put people under the power of sin, which is in the law and makes you not want to. And I don’t want to give because I have to, I want to give because I want to, but in order to do that, have to be free from the have to, so I’m not going to rejoice in the fact that I don’t have to tithe, I’m going to rejoice in the fact that I get to give joyfully and generously, but not under compulsion it says. I don’t rejoice in the fact that I don’t have to ask God to forgive my sins, that’s nothing to rejoice over. What is I rejoice over is the fact that I get to thank him for the fact that it’s done, and to have that knowledge in my mind that’s been revealed by the Spirit of God, that when Jesus said it’s finished, he meant it is finished, and in the Greek that means it is finished. I do not have to rejoice in what I don’t do. I rejoice in what I get to do.

Are you happy by faith with the truth that your sins are put behind the back of God, never to see them again? Are you happy about that? I am. Are we happy about the fact that the scripture says in Him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Where do you have redemption? In Him. Where do you have forgiveness? In Him. How many of you are in Him? How many of you have redemption? How many of you ask God to redeem you every day. Why? Because you have redemption. What else do you have in Him? Forgiveness. How many of you ask God to forgive you every day? Good. Why don’t you? I mean, can’t you hear somebody say, what’s wrong with you? It, and then they say, if your kid goes out and does something wrong, he’s, he’s got to come back and ask for forgiveness. So, you must live around different families than I did, because I’ve never had a kid ever come to ask me to forgive him. I mean, think about folks, that’s all a kid would be talking, he’d know nothing else in language, just have, please forgive me. We are so shallow in our thinking, and, and that line of thinking is well, if that’s, if that’s the way I deal with it, certainly that’s God is. In other words, that’s how I do it. So I’m going to bring God down to my level. God never intended to bring him down to our level. He said, “I’m going to raise you up to mine. I’ve seated you in the heavenlies with Christ Jesus, not down here. So quit thinking what you would do and start thinking what I did, and then elevate yourself to my level instead of dragging me down to yours. Jesus said it’s over. He said it’s finished. It’s done. In Him I have something – redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Now that means then I am not a person who gets redeemed. It means I am a redeemed person, does it not? It also means I am not a person who gets forgiven, but I am a forgiven person. Now, if I am indeed a forgiven person, then do I ask for what I have or do I thank for what I have? And we’re streaming people down aisles every Sunday in evangelical churches to get their sins forgiven, and they go back to their pews as empty as they came to the altar, and then wondering why our lives are messed up, and coming back to say, gee, I accepted Jesus, I was nine years old, but boy. Say, what was your understanding of the gospel? Jesus died for my sins. That’s not the gospel, it’s only half the gospel. You’re not saved by the death of Christ. We’re told you’re saved by the life of Christ. Which are you saved from? The wages of sin, which is what? Death by the gift of God, which is what? Life. Now, folks. For God to give you an eternal life, He had to deal eternally with what caused death. He didn’t deal temporarily, eternally; that cross had to be an eternal function in order to give you eternal life. And that’s why it was finished. It’s eternally finished. God is not dealing with you on the basis of sin today. He’s dealing with us on the basis of what? A new life in Christ Jesus. Is that good news? And so, folks, you don’t need the Spirit of God living in you to understand the law, but you do to understand grace.

Bob George 13:20
You and I have spiritual truths that communicate in spiritual words. Are we on this earth? Is the earth natural? Is the earth spiritual? The earth is natural. You are spiritual, and that’s why I say you speak in a different language. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, they’re foolish to him, and he cannot understand them, because they spiritual things are spiritually discerned. Now, the spiritual man, on the other hand, it says, makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to man’s judgment. For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Now guys. That’s mind-boggling, isn’t it? And we can sit here, and we may have never gotten out of grade school, and yet you got the wisdom of the God of this universe living in you. Or you can be the biggest intellect that ever walked down the pike. Do you hear that God called in there tonight? The scientist, did you hear him? I thought he was speaking in tongues, too. I know he’s talking about. Brilliant, and his understanding of facts and figures, now the world, and all this type of thing. But he knew the Lord, knew the Lord. I, at first, he was talking about, in fact, you know, I say this respectfully, said, but Jesus was kind of an alien. I thought, ooh, we’re in trouble, but I don’t think he meant that, but the fact is that you can have that kind of a brilliant mind, but the Spirit of God still has to reveal these truths to you. You can’t go to school and get educated enough to understand these things. Isn’t that wonderful? The least to the greatest can understand these truths. I don’t know about you, but that boggles my mind, and it just makes me say, Thank you, Lord Jesus, because I tell you, when you got my mind, you better be glad you got his. Isn’t that true? Can you think what you’re capable of thinking? Aren’t you glad you got His in there to counteract that? And, guys, our responses to things are normally what? What’s normally your first response to anything? Natural, and then the spiritual, and it says that first came the natural, then the spiritual. Somebody cuts in front of you on the freeway, what’s your first response? Oh, thank you, Jesus. Go down and buy a brand new car and park in the parking lot, and the guy opens the door and bangs the car, and you say, “Thank you so much. Our first response is always natural, isn’t it. Then God gets a hold of you, and then spiritual can come out, and we have to understand that. Is that’s a conflict between the flesh and the Spirit, how long will that be in existence? Until we die. Until we die. So, a person say, “Boy, I sure wish that I could get rid of this flesh of mine. You’re just wishing to die, go commit suicide, like Job’s wife said, “Curse God and commit suicide, you’ll get rid of those things in a hurry.

You see, folks, we are privileged above all people. We have the mind of Christ living in us now. What is the issue? Are we going to access it? Remember, we have been talking about things like the fruit of the Spirit. Where does the fruit of the Spirit live in us? That’s why it’s not called the fruits of the Spirit. Now, most people think the fruit of the spirit, they call it the fruits of the spirit, and look like a heavenly vending machine that I got a little patient, but I need some kindness, so I’ll put my quarter of faith in and jerk the kindness deal and get a little kindness. It’s called singular, the fruit of the Spirit, which means when God lives in you, all of the fruit of His spirit lives in you. It isn’t something you go get, it’s there. Love is there, patience is there, kindness is there, forgiveness is there, all of those things already are living in you, his mind is in you, he is in you, the fruit of his Spirit is living in you. The issue is, am I going to access it in my flesh ae the very opposite of those things. See, we don’t have a problem, do we? Understanding those things in our flesh, do we? When someone says jealousy erupted or mad or whatever it is, what do we say if we’re Christians? Well, that’s my flesh. Well, where’d it come from? Well, it lives in me, isn’t that right? It’s there. We don’t have to go get that, do we? Oh, Lord, please give me a little anger. Help me, Lord, to be more jealous. It’s there, don’t we understand that? Why don’t we understand that his love and his joy and his peace and patience and kindness and goodness and long suffering is there. It’s there in all of it. Is there not some of it, all of it. So, again, it’s like this wisdom of God is in you now it says the only issue is, are you going to draw upon it? It’s there, willing to teach us, willing to take our minds to teach our minds, control our emotions, and direct our will, and that’s why it says, “Do not be conformed with the world, but be transformed. How? By the renewing of our minds. It’s there. What’s the renewing of our mind? Accessing the mind of God that lives in you and letting that mind be transformed to yours. It’s there, we can draw on it, but our flesh is also there, and we can draw on that, can’t we? And the choice is, which 1am I going to draw on? I got my flesh crying out.

We talked, we’ve talked about that over the last couple of weeks, that what the definition of love is, because First Corinthians 13, I can’t do that. That’s a spiritual thing. It has to be brought about by Him. So we redefine love as those are anything that makes me feel good. I love candy, I love shortcake, I love cars, I love clothes. What is all that we say that don’t we? I love these things. Love them. Why do you love them? Make me feel good, isn’t that true? Anything makes me feel good. That’s why I got married. Make me feel good. When she doesn’t feel, make feel good anymore, get rid of her. How comes? To make me feel good. People adopt a kid, well, made me feel good. After a while, get them back. How come they don’t make me feel good, they cry, have reversible stomachs, all kinds of stuff, they’re a pain. Get rid of if I could. Why don’t make me feel good? So you see that that is flesh, and we’ve got those, those, those two things worrying. Against each other every day of our lives is wanting to give in to those things that make me feel good, and to give in to the fruit of the Spirit of God. And our choice is which one we go in. They’re both available. If you’re in Christ, both are totally available. If you’re not in Christ, you don’t understand the word of God, you might know what it says, but so does Chaldon Heston. So does an actor that can go out and quote it and act it, but they may not know what it means. So, folks, if you’re in Christ, you got the ability to know what the word of God means. If you’re out of Christ, you don’t have any ability at all to know what it means. You can study your little hearts out, you can go through all your science, scientific, biblical science, and scientific interpretations, but you’re not going to have a clue what it means until the Spirit reveals it to you.

If the Spirit of God has not been revealing truth to you, ask yourself the question, could it be that I’m not in Christ? And if you’re not in Christ, we have to ask ourselves, why not? You know, folks, there’s no more evidence in a world that people have studied people who are actual authorities on the examination of evidence that have studied the empty tomb and the resurrection to say there’s there’s no doubt of that, there wasn’t any doubt back in Israel. They’ve now found reports, other than biblical writings, newspaper writings about this Jesus of Nazareth and his death in the empty tomb, and we have to look at that empty tomb and say how to get that way? Because there’s no doubt in the fact that Jesus was died. Now people will say, well, maybe they hid his body. Well, I want to tell you something. The resurrection of Christ was not exactly good news to the Pharisees, and I would tell you, if that body was hidden, they’d have found it. People will search for 40 years to find a war criminal. Believe me, they would have found that body. You say, well, the apostles hid it. What, what benefit would the apostles do in hiding the body, and then die as a scam of some kind? About the first time someone tried to hang me upside down on a cross, and I’d hid the body, I’d say, ‘Hold on, the gig’s up, man. No motivation at all on the part of the apostles to hide the body. Well, Jesus just got people, so the swoon theory, he just kind of was knocked out a little bit in there, and then he came to with a man with spikes through his legs, through his arms, beaten half to death, get up and move, 1000 pound stone, 2000 pound stone, without guards hearing it. Come on, guys, any, any, anything that you come up with just falls far short. The fact of the matter is that Jesus was raised from the dead. He was the Messiah that was prophesied, but he was not the Messiah that the leaders were looking for. They were looking for a reigning Messiah, but the fact is Jesus was raised from the dead, and Jesus is that Messiah. And in the scriptures, in the Old Testament, it says you will call his name Emmanuel, which means God with us. We have to understand these things, guys, that what your people are rejecting is Jesus, the truth and the love of God that’s been manifested to us in Christ Jesus, we’re rejecting love, and many times we don’t want love, but deep down we do want love, and what He’s saying is, “Come unto me.”

I was talking one time to a young man a number of years ago, it had difficulty with alcohol all of his life, and we were talking and talking and talking. He just said he could, just couldn’t believe. I said, I want you to look at it this way. I said, if you were had been raised on an island, you’d never really seen anything, and I came up to you with a big bottle of gin, and there was no label on it, just looked like a bottle of gin. To you it looked like a bottle of water. And I said, my friend, if you drink this, you’re going to get goofy as a bed bug, you’re going to get dizzy, you’re going to stumble around, you’re going to slur your words, you’re probably going to think you’re Burt Reynolds and everybody else all rolled up into one. All those things are going to happen to you, and he’d look at me and say that to make any sense at all. I’ve drunk water all my life, never did anything like that to me. And I said, well, I’ll tell you, I know what this is, and I’ve done this, and I can tell you that’s what’s going to happen to you. Said, I don’t believe that. And I said, we could sit there and argue for the rest of our lives as to whether that would happen or not, but the only way you’re going to know is if you drink of it, and you drink that bottle, and you’re going to find out what I’m saying to you is true, but you’re never going to know apart from drinking of it. Now I said, here’s your options: if Jesus Christ is not God, the only thing you’re going to do, and I. Asking you to do is pray, and you’re just going to be praying to air. If Jesus is not God, all you’re going to be doing is just praying to air. You have nothing to lose, but if He is God, you’re going to be indwelt by the God of this universe. And as a man said, is what I am saying is false. It does doesn’t matter, but if what I’m saying is true, nothing else does matter. And so the issue is, are we willing by faith, and that’s enough faith, Lord. I don’t know, but if you are the Messiah, and if you are God, and you are willing to come to live in me and to change me. I am willing by faith to ask you to do that with the full knowledge that if this is just a scam of some kind, all I’m going to do is pray to heirs, that’s not a big deal, but if you’re really God, I want to know you. And you’ll have the spirit of God living in you and the mind of God to enable you to understand the mind of the God of this universe.

Let’s pray together, Father. Many times are we get stumbling over our intellect and we want proof, and more proof, and more proof, but really the only proof there is is to try it by faith, and I ask if there is anyone in the sound of my voice, whether it’s here in this room or by tapes, that has never really by faith accepted you for what you did for them. You died for their sins, and we can say, you died for my sins. You took them away and never see them again. You were raised from the dead for me, as if I was the only person on the face of the earth. And you were raised from the dead, having entered into my death with me, so that I could enter into your life with you. And if you’re standing at the door of my heart and knocking, then I want you to come in to be my Lord, my Savior, my God, and my best friend, for us in our finite form to be indwelt by the living God, to have your mind, to have your wisdom available to us. Let us know the truth of this, the dynamic of this, the marvel of it, and instead of continually yielding to the demands of the flesh to yield to the wisdom that is ours in Christ Jesus.

Jesus Came to Save Sinners

Listen to the Salvation message today!

Stand on the firmness of truth. Don’t keep going back and forth. Thank Him that the forgiveness issue is settled.

Let’s pray together:

  • Lord Jesus,
  • I thank you for taking away my sins on the cross,
  • never ever to see them again.
  • Having done that, I now thank you for giving me eternal life,
  • through your resurrection.
  • I now receive that life.
  • And I am going stand in the fact that I am a child of the living God.
  • In Jesus Holy name I pray.
  • Amen

All believers are now brothers and sisters in Christ.
