Classic Christianity – An Unpopular Truth – 9-09-26
~ The Apostle Paul stood on the firm foundation, Jesus Himself that He already knew. He pressed on to the goal based on the things He already knew, and He trusted in the Holy Spirit to reveal the entirety of understanding at some point in time. We stand today, precept upon precept, as has been shown to us. We do fall back from the Truth that is already established. We walk in that Truth. We hold on to it. We live in that Truth, because He Lives in us. Do not let anyone turn you around from Truth. Press on. Keep striving forward. Keep asking for Wisdom from God to show you ALL TRUTH. Because that is His promise for us who have the Holy Spirit Living in us. He has much to show each of us. The secrets of God are for those who want to know Truth and know Him completely. He wants you depending totally on Him for ALL TRUTH. Proverbs 25:2: “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.”
~ Phillipians 3:12-16
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly calling in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us who are mature should embrace this point of view. And if you think differently about some issue, God will reveal this to you as well. 16 Nevertheless, we must live up to what we have already attained.
Life is Found Exclusively in Jesus
- John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
- 1 John 5:11-12 “And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
- John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die.”
- 1 John 5:20 “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”
Salvation from Death to Eternal Life
- Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
- John 3:36 “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
- John 10:27-28 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”
- John 5:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Revelation 21:1,2

Pray to God:
Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?
Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”
~ Bob George discusses the concept of righteousness through faith in Christ, emphasizing that man cannot achieve righteousness through the law but must rely on Christ’s imputed righteousness. He criticizes the modern relativistic view, arguing that without absolute truths, life becomes unstable. Bob highlights a case in Dallas where a judge imprisoned a man for quoting scripture, illustrating the suppression of absolute truths. He stresses the importance of living up to one’s faith, forgiving others, and standing firm in biblical doctrine, particularly the finished work of Christ on the cross.
“My friends. We live in a very dangerous age. We live in an extremely dangerous age, not just because of politics, not just because of world conditions, but we live in a very dangerous age because people have lost this terrific dynamic understanding that this book is the Word of God, and to have confidence in it. Paul didn’t say if you think differently, no big deal. He says if you think differently, God will ultimately make it clear to you. That’s a promise. If you and I think differently about something, and we’re wrong. He says God will make it clear to you sooner or later. Let’s just hope you don’t do too much damage in the meantime. Only let us live up to what we have already attained. If we’ve already gained what we have gained, let us live up to that. That’s what he’s saying. If you have salvation and your sins have been taken away at the cross, let’s live up to that truth. Let’s at least be willing to stand up to the world and say that to the world. My sins have been taken away from the eyes of God. My righteousness has come from God. Outside of that, I don’t have any. That’s living up to what you’ve already attained. I have eternal life. It’s not the fact I get eternal life. I have eternal life. Why? Well, because I’m so wonderful. No, because He’s so wonderful. I have eternal life because of Him, not because of anything I’ve done. I don’t have eternal life because I was dunked in water. I don’t have eternal life because I spoke in tongues. I don’t have eternal life because I went to church. I don’t have eternal life because I tithe. I have eternal life because of Jesus. Period. There is nothing that I have done to enter into that equation. I am saved because of the death of Jesus, the burial of Jesus, and the resurrected life of Jesus. Period. I can say that, can’t you? Openly and boldly, and quite frankly. I don’t give a flip whether people like that or not, and you know why I don’t give a flip is because I don’t like what they believe either. So what do you want to do? Have an arm wrestling contest or shoot each other? But the issue is I’m not going to back down on what I know to be true just because it’s politically not correct, because there isn’t much correct in politics anyway. I hope that politics is not our standard of truth. We have got to realize, my friends, we’re in a battle. That’s why it talks about in the scripture. Put on the full armor of God. What do you need armor for if we’re not in a battle?” ~ Bob George

Bob George 0:28
Well, good morning to all of you. Glad you’re here, and let’s see what the Lord has to teach us today. Let’s start in chapter three, verse 12, where Paul again says that I have not yet obtained all of these things or been made perfect. He had said just earlier that what he is wanting us to know is that he found in Christ Jesus himself not having a righteousness of his own, but of that comes from the law, but a righteousness that is by faith in Christ Jesus. That is so vitally important for us to understand that man sets out to try to find righteousness in his own works or in his own deeds, and Paul said, as far as that concept, I was without exception. He said I couldn’t be topped, and he explains that in in the scripture there. But the fact of the matter is, he said that I had to come to the point of realizing that no man will ever be be declared righteous in the sight of God through obedience to the law. That the only thing that the law can do for us is to show us that we’re sinful, and that there’s a consequence to sin called death, and that we’re dead. Until we come to understand our condition, we’re not ready for His provision. Very simple.
And so Paul says that I, I’m, I’m grateful to God that some time in my life I came to this point where I realized that I stand before God not with a righteousness of my own, that comes from the law, but from righteousness that has been imputed to me by Christ Jesus. You and I are clothed, we’re told, in the righteousness of Christ Jesus. We do not stand, and nor will we stand before God ever in our own righteousness. We will stand in our self righteousness if we’re not clothed in His, and we’ll get an opportunity, I believe, before God in that nakedness, not clothed in His righteousness, to explain to God why we think we’re worthy to go into His presence, and I think it’ll take God about two seconds to show us that that ain’t going to work. Now, guys, we live in a world today where everything is being taught to counteract the truth of the Word of God. We live in a generation today where we have been conned into this concept that everything is relative, haven’t we? Nothing is constant, folks. You cannot do a an experiment. You can’t do a the most simple of a chemistry experiment apart from a constant. If all you have is variables, you can’t make an experiment work. You have to have a constant in order to bounce the variables off of. And to to fill our heads with the idea that there is no constant is to say there’s nothing in this experiment called life that’s going to work because that’s true. If there’s no constant, nothing is going to work, and yet we have a constant.
It tells us that we are to come to truth, and as as it deals with verse 14. He said, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. And all of us who are mature should take such a view of these things. And if some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. He didn’t say that if some of you think differently, that’s okay. That’s okay. If it’s good for you, that’s all that matters. I heard today, and and I I heard it secondhand, that I believe in Dallas that a judge has ruled and sent a person to prison in a public forum for preaching and in the name of Jesus for using in his prayer in Jesus’ name. Not allowed to do that. And his his his justification was that this man quoted scripture, and you can’t quote scripture. You can quote books, but you can’t quote scripture. Now, guys, does anyone understand that? I mean, I don’t think there’s anyone in here that couldn’t say something’s wrong with that judge. But again, again, have we heard anything about that? I have heard anything about it. I wouldn’t have heard about it had I not heard about it. But I didn’t hear about it from the media because the world doesn’t care about that.
The world is if it’s good for you, that’s okay. You tell a person I’m a Christian, fine, that’s good. If that works for you, that’s okay. But I’m ______, and if it works for me, that’s okay. And I’m _______, and if it works for me, that’s okay. You go out in the world today and you make statements like, Jesus is the only way to God, and you’re going to be looked upon as a biased, hypocritical person without intelligence by the world. Is that right or wrong, guys? Why? Because that is a constant that Jesus said, “I’m the only way to God. There’s no other name under heaven given among men whereby you must be saved. What’s wrong with that statement? It is a constant, and I’ve been taught that there are no constants. That everything’s a variable. So how am I going to buy this Christian book that says that Jesus is the only way to God? How am I going to deal with this book? And that’s why a person who say you’re going to jail because you’re quartered out of this book is because this book is a constant. Even the judge knows that. This book doesn’t say any old way will do, and I’m not going to put up with any book that doesn’t say any old way will do. I’m not going to put up with a book like that, so I’m going to keep the book away from you.
My friends. What do you need armor for if we’re not in a battle?
We’re in a battle for the minds of man, and brethren, I tell you, the enemy’s strong, and the enemy is plentiful, and the enemy has one goal-that’s to destroy you, if they can. If they destroy us, they got it all done, and so we’re in a battle, and these people back there, there’s the beginning of the battle from Christ Jesus on. The battle started. Christ Jesus said, “I didn’t come to bring peace to this world. Isn’t that the Prince of Peace said, “I didn’t come to bring peace? I came to bring a sword. I came to draw a line, and on one side is truth, and the other side is error, and never will the two meet. There is a line between truth and error, and he said, “I came to draw that line. I didn’t come to compromise it. I didn’t come to say any old truth will do. I came to say this is truth, and that came from God. We didn’t manufacture that, folks. Man does not manufacture truth; that has to come from God. Has to be revealed. Truth to be truth has to be revealed. We can’t manufacture it.
That’s what he was saying to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. You could eat of all these trees. You know, it always kills me. How God said to Adam and Eve, Adam and Eve, look, there’s all these kind of trees out there. You can eat of anything that you want to, except from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. You cannot determine right from wrong and good from evil on your own, that has to be revealed from God. Now, all this other stuff that I created for you down here, have at it. What do we spend the most of our lives praying about? Lord what should I eat today? Anything you want to. What job should I take? Anyone that hires you. Where should I go to school? Wherever you want to, because wherever you are, I’ll be there, and we’ll be there together. And we sit there thinking, “Oh God, He wants me to go to his school, and he wants. Listen, God said, “There’s trees out there. Eat from any of them. The only one you’re not going to eat from is sitting there determining what’s right and wrong and good from evil. Don’t ever try to eat from that tree because the day you do, you’ll die. Are we together?

So, in this world in which we live, we have to realize again that there is a battlefield out there, and it’s a battle for our minds. It’s a it’s a battle for our character, really. There isn’t much in character in any of us when we talk out of both sides of our mouth. That’s why he says in the scripture to put these things into practice, because it doesn’t do me any good to talk about something but not put it into practice. And many times, guys, until we hit the crunch of life, we really don’t know how we’re going to put something into practice, do we? I don’t believe a ____ _______, as an example, could have sat back and free thought how he was going to respond in the event that he ever got shot down. That had to be a moment by moment decision. Is how I’m going to respond. How he responded, you have to look back with great admiration on a man that responded in that way. But I don’t believe he pre thought it. We don’t know how we’re going to respond. We don’t know how we’re going to respond when someone rips you off until you get ripped off, then you’ll find out how you respond, and then you’ll find out: Am I responding according to the Word of God, or am I responding according to my flesh? When someone has done something that is evil to you or to your loved ones. What did it say our response should be when someone’s ripped you off? What’s it say? What was Christ’s response when they ripped him off? Father, what? Forgive them. What’s yours when someone ripped you off, or ripped off one of your loved ones? And we say, “Oh, you’re just be this forgiveness stuff. That’s just a bunch of garbage. You know how you forgive someone who’s lied to you and deceived you and cheated you. I don’t know how did Jesus do that, but He told me to do that. I want to tell you when you’re thinking with the world’s mind instead of Christ’s mind, and you say that they’re going to think you’re nuts. You got a false motive. That’s how satan does, he’s got a false motive. No, God says to forgive. Now, that doesn’t mean that God does not want us to be as wise as a serpent and as gentle as a dove. That doesn’t mean that if you rip me off in business, that I’m going to invite you in to be my vice president. That doesn’t mean that I’m even going to want to do business with you anymore. But I am going to say, as a person, I have forgiven you for what you did. But you got some proving to do before I trust you totally. Before I totally trust you, you got some convincing to do. But you see, our minds say, “Don’t think like that. Don’t think like that. You’re supposed to just go after them. See if you can annihilate them. Well, folks, that’s the very opposite of what God says, and so the issue is: Are you going to think and act and put into practice what God says, or are we going to think and act and put into practice what we think is right? Because that’s what the that’s what the thinking of of the people who said there are no absolutes, everything is relative. It’s just if it’s right for you, why do it. So if that’s what’s right for you is to be bitter and everything, go do it. But you see, that’s eliminating the idea of absolutes.
So he says, “Join with others in verse 17 in following my example, brothers, and take note of those who live according to the pattern that we gave you. For as I have often told you before, and I say again with many tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Now Paul is saying that with many tears. That is something that broke Paul’s heart to see people living as an enemy of the cross. It is not easy, my friends, being a Christian who speaks his piece, whether you’re in a standpoint of a business person or a lay person, or whether you’re in a ministry. It is not easy for me, who’ve been on the radio for more years than what I’d like to think, that many times being a live program, you sometimes say something, not to me, I always say something that displeases somebody. Because if you’re going to teach what this Bible says, you’re going to be stepping on somebody’s toes every day of your life in regard to biblical understanding, if you’re going to teach it for what it says to the people that dip down and say, “Oh, you got to be baptized to be saved, I’m going to step on your toes. To a person who thinks you got to speak in tongues, I’m going to step on your tongue. To a person who thinks that you’re good because you go to church, I’m going to step on that. There is no way if you’re going to teach the truth without denominational persuasion that you’re not going to step on somebody’s toes.
And so the issue many times is, I had a situation not too long ago where someone brought up the fact of, of how a minister or somebody had been talking about the fact that we become like little gods when we become Christian. We’re just little god, and really anything we say is of God. And I think, brother, if that’s true of me, we are in some trouble. There are people who teach that. If you’re born again, you’re just a little god. And why do you teach that? Because they teach the name it and claim it. That God is obligated to do what I ask him to do. Why? Because I have become a somebody, somebody, and that’s the way you act. And anything I ask God, He’s got to do it. In other words, I now am the initiator; He is the responder. That makes me greater than God. If I’m the initiator and He’s the responder, then all I have to do is to walk around and tell Him what to do. That makes me greater than God, doesn’t it? Now, that to me, folks, is a disgrace to Jesus. I don’t know what it is to you, but that’s an enemy of the cross of Christ Jesus. I’m just saying that many times we have to sit back as people and think about what are we upset about. Why don’t we get upset over people who are enemies of the cross of Christ? Who is an enemy of the cross of God? A false teacher. A false teacher, a person teaching that every time you sin you got to go back to God and get forgiveness. I want to tell you, folks, that’s a false teacher because that’s not true. And in teaching that, you’re teaching that Jesus did not complete the work when he cried out from the cross. It is what? Almost finished, or did he say paid in part, or did he say paid in full? Why don’t we put the proper therefores to that? That’s what doctrine is, folks. Teaching is teaching you what it says. Doctrine is putting the therefore to it. If Jesus took away the sins of the world, and I’m in the world, I don’t think you have to be a genius to figure out that my sins must have been taken away from the eyes of God. I don’t think you have to be a genius to figure that out. Do you? And if indeed that is true, then what should my doctrine be in regard to forgiveness? It’s finished. That’s what it ought to be. It’s finished. And when something is finished, it is finished. That means that that one act of Jesus at the cross 2000 years ago provided a way by which the sins of the entire world, back to Adam and forward to eternity, were taken away, not covered like atonement, taken away from the eyes of God, never to see them again, and the only unpardonable sin is the sin of the rejection of the Son of God who provided that for us. That sin is not going to be forgiven.
That sin has to be repented of, which is precisely what of repentance is in the New Testament: repenting from your condition of unbelief to become a believer in the total sufficiency of Christ Jesus, not the partial sufficiency of Christ Jesus. You do not come to Jesus believing He died for some of my sins. That Jesus didn’t exist. He is not in existence, and he never has been in existence. So you’ve got your faith in a Jesus that did not exist. The Jesus of the Bible is the Bible is the Jesus who went to a cross, saying, “Father, forgive them. These are to the people who just beat him half to death and nailed him to a cross. Father, forgive them; they know not what they’re doing. And there, he who knew no sin became sin. For who? You and me. How come? So that we could become the righteousness of God. Where? In Him, not in me. In Him, that’s the Jesus of the Bible, not the Jesus who died for some of our sins, or who died for your sins up to the point you’re saved, and then from that point on you’re on your own. And now, I got to develop, got to develop confession booths. I got to develop First John one nines and misquote that. I’ve got to I got to develop that you that you got to get baptized again. I got to develop all these man made things because I refuse to believe that Jesus meant what He said. What He said, it is finished. When something is finished, folks, it is finished. Especially when God says it’s finished. I may say something’s finished, and go back and try to improve it. When God says something’s finished. It’s done. Been did. Are we together? Now that’s what he’s dealing with here. That will you please become mature and come to a point where you think alike, and if you don’t, we do have a promise. God will make it clear to you. Now that’s a good promise. If you’ll let Him, God will make it clear to you, and therefore, when He does, we’ll have unity in this body, and that’s important to have unity in the body of Christ, but he said only in the meantime live up to what you’ve already obtained. In other words, what you do know, live up to it. I may not know all of the different ramifications of end times, but on what I do know, he says, live up to it. Live up to it.
