He explains spiritual truth, applying such truth so men can walk in freedom in Christ for which Christ has set them free. Sometimes callers simply thank Bob for helping them understand truth and are deeply grateful. Other callers are bogged down in error from things they have heard or been taught in religion. Beth calls to ask Bob if it is a sin to not go to church. Bob tells her it is not a sin and explains what the church really is and explains the role of pastors and elders and the role of Jesus Christ as the head of the true church, which is His body. Lisa asked if under a New Covenant if man can have more than one wife. Bob answered from scripture that the answer is clearly no. And even under the Old Covenant and even from the beginning of creation, in Genesis God’s design has always been one man and one woman in what is rightly called marriage. Classic Christianity – Book of John P25 (12-05-18)

Bob George continues teaching from the book of John. He is currently in John 7 where the religious leaders are trying to turn the crowd against Jesus and many of the Jews are not understanding and are divided concerning Jesus. Some say Jesus is the prophet. Others say Jesus is the Messiah. Some Jews who knew some facts from scripture lacked full understanding and so doubted Jesus being the Messiah. Jesus clearly explained who he was, that he came from Heaven. Jesus had a message to shared concerning his death, burial and resurrection. But more than than that. He also told them that he will return to His Father so that he can send the Holy Spirit to dwell in men. Bob explains more thoroughly with other supporting scriptures to explain the significance of the Holy Spirit taking residence in the lives of men. The religious leaders, as well as others, could only think in the natural realm. The religious leaders wondered what he meant by saying he is going away. Is he going away to a far away country? Classic Christianity – Book of John P24 (12-04-18)

Bob George shares from the book of John beginning at John 7:25. What do people do to understand the bible? Do they rely on their own understanding, as the Jews did when Jesus spoke truth from heaven. So many people are confused about truth. The age old question people have asked is “What is truth?”. So do we need to study Greek to understand the bible but yet cannot find Christians in Greece. Do we need understand Hebrews but not all Hebrews are Christian. So do we need to go to seminary to learn hermeneutics or some system of theology? Why is there so much division of who Jesus is?

John 7:25-27
25 At that point some of the people of Jerusalem began to ask, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill? 26 Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Messiah? 27 But we know where this man is from; when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from.”

Welcome to Classic Christianity radio with Bob George. Bob George continues teaching from the book of John. From John 7, Bob encourages people to seek to do God’s will and to seek Christ first. Yet so many in the world today stay focused only on the natural things of the world and many still today argue about Jesus. Why do people fail to come to Christ for life today? What spiritual message did Jesus speak? What does he want people to know concerning himself? Do you come to Jesus for what he can do for you, such as healing, physical need of food or water, forgiveness, or do you come to Jesus because of who he is, eternal life, and to receive that life? Have you recognized that you are spiritually dead and in need of life, not physical life but spiritual life? Is this the time for you to come to have life in His name?

Jesus, the man from heaven, came to bring life to man. But man is born spiritually dead because of sin. The cause of death is sin. Bob George RadioWelcome to Classic Christianity radio, where for over 30 years Bob George has answered common questions by various callers with clear instruction and application from understanding the meaning of God’s word. The first caller, Eli, asked Bob advise on what translation are good translations and for any recommendations. The second caller, Steve, simply brought up a strange teaching he heard and wanted to bring it to Bob’s attention for further clarity although he clearly knew how false it was. The third caller, John, asked a question in regards to a specific passage of scripture and if those people referenced were saved. David asked a question in regards to what was lacking in Apollos in the book of Acts that he needed Priscilla and Aquila to explain truth more accurately. Eddie asked what it means to be led by the Holy Spirit in reference to teaching he heard from Pentecostal churches. The last caller asked Bob in regards to why there are lots of differences in teaching out there, such as what he has heard from Hank Haanagraf and Bob George.

Julie, the first caller, is a believer, but is walking according to the flesh, in obvious and blatant sin, because she has a faulty belief system and had made the same wrong choices. Therefore, she was not experiencing God’s love, joy, peace, patience, the fruit of the Spirit, that God wants for her. The second caller, Chip, called simply to thank Bob, recounting the early years, when he approached memorizing scriptures but without understanding its meaning, and so was bound up living in error. He was very grateful to Bob for his teaching of the New Covenant that helped transform his thinking and manner of living. The third caller, Katie, was experiencing anxiety and understandably so since her husband walked away from her marriage after 2 years. Bob gives her practical advise, basic insight into the root cause of marital problems, the encouragement to think truthfully, and take one day at a time.
