Without Faith, it is Impossible to Please God

~ Many people came to Jesus thinking they were getting their sins forgiven. It’s placing the wrong emphasis on themselves (and asking for forgiveness of God) instead of placing trust in Jesus and what he did on the cross for them. They don’t understand that they were physically born forgiven by God, but in need of life through the Holy Spirit coming to live in them when they place faith in Jesus. So what happens many times, is a person thinks in their mind that something is a sin (whether it really is or not), but they think it is a sin, that God is somehow up there with a clipboard keeping track of everyone’s sins and is going to cause them to lose their salvation. Yet even there, they don’t understand that salvation is Eternal life. Once a person has the Holy Spirit living in them, there is nothing that can kick out the Holy Spirit. They have the Holy Spirit forever for eternal life. Our faith needs to be in Jesus, NOT ourselves.

~ “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” ^{Hebrews 11:6}.

Bob George:
Scott, the mere fact you see, the Scripture says that which is not a faith is sin, and you’re not exercising faith, it’s, the beer is not the problem. The problem is you’re not exercising faith and probably maybe you don’t know what you’re supposed to be putting your faith in. But the salvation that you say you received is called eternal life. It isn’t called temporal life. It’s called Eternal. And, and that’s what salvation is. God is life. It isn’t forgiveness, it’s life. That there’s a consequence to sin, All have sinned, and all have fallen short of the glory of God. And the wages of sin is death. Now, the only solution to death is life. And the only life available to us is the resurrected life of Christ Jesus. And so when we come to Him for what He came to give us life I came at you might have life and have it abundantly, instead of coming to him to just get your sins forgiven, which is not salvation. Why then you realize that the reason that I have eternal life is because of the eternal consequence of the cross. The cross is what took away the cause of spiritual death, sin and had sin not been taken away and he gave you life, the next time you sinned, you die again. And the reason that you have eternal life is because of the eternal consequence of this of the cross, where he took away eternally the cause of spiritual death, so that he can offer you eternal life. So all of your sins have been placed behind the back of God you were born a forgiven person Scott. You didn’t get forgiven when you came to Christ. You were you were forgiven when you were born, but…

Scott:
because we were predestine

Bob George:
no, no, that no that predestination has nothing to do with us and me’s it has to do with Hebrews and Gentiles, it has to do with the fact Ah, yeah, has to do with the fact that when you were born into this world, you were born under what Jesus said that God was in Christ reconciling the whole world unto Himself, not counting their sins against them. And so in essence, that forgiveness that was provided for you then, is only received, however, in the resurrection of Christ Jesus, and that’s why it says in the Bible in him, you have redemption, that forgiveness of sins, so where do you get redemption and where do you get forgiveness in Him in His resurrected life? So you don’t come to Christ for forgiveness? You thank Him for what He provided for you, but to come to Him for the solution to the wages of sin being death, which is life. That’s why it says when you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave all your sin. So, if you’ve come to him for life, there is no way you can lose life. Because the only thing could cause your life to be lost his sin, and that’s all been put behind the back of God never to see it again.
