Do Not Mix The Old With The New

~ “So the former commandment is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.” Hebrews 7:18,19

~ Many today are living in both the old covenant and the new covenant. They promote law keeping and tithing on one hand, and then on the other hand they talk about grace. It’s very strange when you think about it, especially in regards to tithing, because those that promote tithing have no clue what tithing was used for in the old covenant. Tithing was used to support the Leviitcal priesthood. So in essence, they are believing that they are supporting the Levitical priesthood today. They in essence deny the Temple was completely destroyed and with it, all the aspects of the Law. This is key to remember for today. The Old Covenant Temple was destroyed for a reason. It was no longer vailed. We are not to try and keep rebuilding the Old Covenant Temple. We are to live in our New Temple of God, our bodies are the temple of God. The old priesthood has been eliminated. The old is gone, the new is here right now. Each of us in Christ Jesus have the Holy Spirit living in us, and so we can go directly to Jesus for anything. And furthermore there is no sacrafice for sins left. Jesus did it all at the cross. He took away the sins of the whole world. Rest in Truth.

Bible Study Books

Bob George discusses the concept of “cafeteria Christianity,” emphasizing that believers should not cherry-pick scriptures but live under the New Covenant. He criticizes TV preachers for misunderstanding the New Covenant and promoting unbiblical teachings. Bob explains that tithing is obsolete under the New Covenant, advocating for free will giving. He addresses a caller’s concern about an elderly woman stealing, clarifying that her sin is unbelief, not theft. Bob also refutes the Catholic doctrine of Peter as the first pope, stressing that the New Covenant abolishes the need for sacrifices and that salvation is assured through faith in Christ’s finished work.

“Nick, when God let the Israelites out of Egypt, they went into the desert for 40 years. Do you know how many people entered into the Sabbath rest? Two out of 1,100,000 people, two entered into the Sabbath rest. And so, if you don’t think that there’s a remnant of people that are going to ultimately get out of the desert and enter into the Sabbath rest, that is always going to be a remnant of people. Whenever you see masses like that, I want to tell you something. You’re going to find people who are still living in the desert, but I call it a Las Vegas religion. They build nice buildings, big buildings, big programs, big cafeterias, big all kinds of things draw 1000s of people who have settled for the desert instead of entering into a rest where you’re resting from your works, just as God did from His. So that’s always going to be the case. So don’t ever look at Christianity as a popularity contest or an election, it’s a remnant of people that are not only going to enter into the Sabbath rest, but ultimately are going to enter into heaven, and scripture talks about that many are called but few are chosen, and so we have to understand the truth of that, and so you have people that are prone to believe anything except the truth. And you can tell a person about the grace of God, and they say it’s too good to be true, but you can have someone say that I have a hankie, it’s been dicked and dipped in the Jordan, and you can send me $100 and I’ll send you the hanky, and all your prayers are answered, and you say, lead me to the hanky, so it’s why people are so dumb, I don’t know, but the fact of the matter is that very few literally respond to the totality of the truth of God.” ~ Bob George
