The Holy Spirit Was Sent to ALWAYS Teach us Truth

~ “But when He the, Spirit of truth, shall come, He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak from Himself, but whatever He may hear, He will speak. And He will declare to you the things coming.” John 16:13

– When a person receives the Holy Spirit, the very day they place Faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit is given to them to live by faith from first to last. We are not to focus on ourselves, but on the Spirit of God who lives in us, to teach us ALL Truth. And today, the deceptions of the world are immense, and we get sucked into them, hook, line and sinker. Why? Because we do not depend upon the Spirit of God to show us the Truth. We lean on our own understanding of things, and think we have it all figured out. The Holy Spirit is also given for the body of Christ, to teach and build up the church in Truth. And many times, the Truth is a hard lesson we don’t want to face at times. Yet the Spirit of God is there to teach us ALL Truth, and this is also on a moment by moment basis (Faith from first to last), when we are controlled by the Spirit of God, by abiding in Him and allow Him to do the work in and through us.

“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in various tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, who apportions them to each one as He determines.

The body is a unit, though it is composed of many parts. And although its parts are many, they all form one body. So it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether HEBREWS or Greeks, slave or free, and we were all given one Spirit to drink.” 1 Corinthians 12:7-13

“Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to reckless indiscretion. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” Ephesians 5:15-21

Bob George discusses the difference between being indwelt by the Holy Spirit (essential for spiritual birth) and being filled with the Holy Spirit (controlled by the Spirit’s love). He emphasizes that being filled means being controlled by the love of God, as described in Ephesians 3. Nicole questions the necessity of specific baptism practices, and Bob clarifies that salvation includes receiving the Holy Spirit. Charlene expresses concern about a relative joining the Mormon church, and Bob advises focusing on sharing the truth of Jesus. Dana struggles with faith and daily prayers, and Bob encourages her to trust in God’s will and provision. Larry questions forgiveness, and Bob explains that Jesus’ death took away sin and the law, and the Holy Spirit guides believers to live consistently with their new identity in Christ.

“Good question Nicole, yes, to be indwelt by the Holy Spirit is what happens at spiritual birth. That’s why it says, If the Spirit of God does not live in you, you do not belong to Him. So there is no way in the world to be born again unless the Holy Spirit of God has come to live within you. It just said, If the Spirit doesn’t live in you, you don’t belong to him. You’re born again of the Spirit. So there’s no such thing as being born again today and receiving the Spirit tomorrow, you can’t be born again apart from the Holy Spirit of God taking up residence. That’s what it means to be indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Now to be filled means to be controlled by that Greek word. To be filled means to be controlled by and we have Ephesians, five that everybody hangs on to, but they don’t know the meaning of it, Be not drunk with wine where it is excess, but be filled with the Spirit. And of course, if you don’t look at that passage Nicole in context, then it means whatever you want it to mean. And to one group, it might mean rolling around on the floor and barking like a dog to another group. It means that you’re speaking in tongues to another group. It means, no, no, you’re sitting piously with your hands folded, and Ephesians three tells you exactly what it means. Ephesians five says, Be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians three tells you exactly what it means. And here’s what Ephesians three says. It talks about the fact, in Ephesians three, that we are to be controlled by the love of God. It talks about that in Ephesians three that the love of God is what we are to be filled with. And it talks about until we are filled to the measure with the fullness of God. And this is what it means to be controlled, or filled with the Spirit to be controlled, filled to the measure, with the love of God. And there is where people just absolutely leave truth of the Word of God, Nicole, because we say, well, I can’t do that. And say, I know you can’t. That’s why you have to depend on Christ, which is what it means, of course, to to be filled means to be controlled by the life of Christ, who lives in you. And the only way that you can do that is by abiding in the vine of Christ, Jesus. And so that’s what it means to be filled with the spirit it means to be controlled by love. Again. What is it that controlled the Apostle Paul love? What controlled Jesus love? What does it control you and me? Love? And told about, the only thing that matters is faith expressing itself through love. And the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. You can speak in the tongues of men and angels. If you don’t have love, you’re nothing but a noisy gong and a LAN and a clanging symbol. All of those things that we do are absolutely nothing compared to what God wants him to do in and through us. And what God wants to do in and through you and me is to produce the fruit of the Spirit. And the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, all of those qualities that you cannot conjure up through self effort or. As it says, through the law. Okay, does that help you?” – Bob George
