True Man and True Woman Have The Spirit of God Living in Them

~ When two people a True Man and a True Woman are married and are in Christ Jesus, then the two are one. Why? Because they have the mind of Christ Jesus living in them. The Holy Spirit is alive in both of them and He is constantly renewing our mind. However, when two people are married, and one is in Christ and the other is not, then they are unequally yoked together. Now that may have happened at the beginning of the relationship, or it may have happened sometime in the middle of being married. But do not lose heart, and the word of God speaks to this also. If you can hang in there, hang in there for the one in Christ. Because you never know if your spouse may eventually come to know the Lord and become born again of the Spirit of God.

And this is so important to understand, that without both being in Christ, you may find situations where the husband or the wife is listening to their mom or dad for things related to marriage, that should not be given because their mom or dad may not know the Lord either and is essentially giving unsolicited and unbiblical advice. And when a marriage occurs, the husband and wife are to be of one flesh. They are to focus on each other. And only when a person has Jesus, alive living in them, can they allow the Love of God to flow through them. Because otherwise, the person cannot Love as Christ loves the church.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 gives the definition of Christ’s Love for us. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” So hang in there with a spouse that is not in Christ, if you can, in as much as if they are willing to live with you. And allow the Love of God to flow through you. Because God is not willing that any should perish.

And 1 Corinthians 7:12-16 explains why the two should try and remain together in detail. “To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If a brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. And if a woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his believing wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. But if the unbeliever leaves, let him go. The believing brother or sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace. How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?”

“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” Ephesians 5:31

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Genesis 2:24

Consider having a Bible study yourself and teaching one or two others the Truth of the word of God. Those with ears, they will want to hear. We have many excellent Bible study books that are very easy to use that involve simply reading the word of God and answering the questions provided. The answers themselves are right there in the word of God.

~ “Well, Vicki, it isn’t your problem. That’s your husband’s problem, and he needs to, if he knows. And obviously he does that his mom is causing problems within the marriage. That’s his responsibility to take the bull by the horn and to say, Mom, I’m sorry, but this isn’t working, that if you’re going to live with us and you’re going to live under our house rules, because this is our house, it’s not yours, and if you don’t want to do that, why? My suggestion for you is, is to move out, because I’m not going to destroy my marriage over you. So it’s, it’s one of those things that is very hard many times. But the Bible does say, which you’ve already quoted, that a man is to leave his father and mother. And I think there’s a reason it says a man, instead of a woman, to leave his father and mother and to cleave to his wife, so the two of them will become as one. And so he’s the head of the home, and it’s his responsibility to take care of it. And if he doesn’t, why, then you’ve got to got a wimp on your hands, and he, you know, he might need to hear that.

Okay, well then you’re unequally yoked. So your problem isn’t your in law living with you. It’s the fact that he doesn’t have the person living in him that God means for him to do, and that’s to be indwelt by Christ, Jesus. So you’re you’ve got a lot of concentration who’s living with you instead of who’s not living in you. And so you’ve got a situation there being unequally yoked, then Vicky, and that’s a different problem, because you cannot if you’re unequally yoked, how can you go to Christ Jesus for advice? How can you go to the Bible for advice? You see, a marriage is made up of a man and a woman. We’re opposite of each other. A woman thinks things one way, probably more emotional. A man thinks another way, in most cases, more of a logical whether it be logical or illogical, it’s that’s the way we think. And those two have to come to a point of saying it doesn’t make any difference whether this is a woman thing or a man thing. The issue is, what does Jesus say about it? What does the word of God say about it? And if you don’t have someone that has any appreciation for the Word of God, then you are left with trying to figure things on your own, leaning on your own understanding, not acknowledging him. And instead of God directing your Paths, you’re trying to direct your own paths and to fix your own problems, and that isn’t going to work, period. So your problem is that if you’re unequally yoked, then you have no place to go to except your own understanding. And that is not going to work. So the whole issue that you have to deal with there, Vicky is number one I would want to be dealing with. The issue is husband. Why? Why are you rebelling against Christ? That’s the only place that we can go to get advice that is greater than ours. Is to the Lord Himself. And if you’re not willing to go to the Lord to have your mind renewed, and I’m not willing to go to the Lord to have my mind renewed, then we’re never going to make it in this marriage. That’s just as simple as you can get. Are we together? Vicky, yes, yeah. So there’s your problem, and you can’t solve that problem of him not being in Christ. That’s something he has to deal with, right? And so if she is sitting around quoting scripture to you, why she at least has some religion, I guess, unless she’s just using it as a whipping block.” ~ Bob George
