Classic Christianity – Born in Adam, Raised in Christ – Part 2 – 9-30-26
~ For we know that if our earthly house, the tent, should be torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For also in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling that is from heaven, If indeed also having been clothed, we will not be found naked. For indeed, being in the tent we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that the mortal should be swallowed up by life. 2 Corinthians 5:1-4
Folks, let’s not lose sight of the fact that Jesus is a physical person after His resurrection. He can be seen, carry on a conversation with, have a fish fry and touch and hold onto Him. He is flesh and bone. And someday will shall be just like He is, clothed in our new glorified bodies that come down directly from heaven to clothe us. And that is what we look forward to happening someday. And someday, there will be a new heaven and a NEW EARTH. Scriptures tell us that directly in Revelation 21:1,2. And part of our misunderstanding of this, is that we look at this current world—with all its corruption, sickness, pain, loss, and evil—and our hearts naturally cry out, “I just want to leave all of this behind and be with Jesus.” We crave an escape from the heaviness of this life. But Jesus restores heaven on Earth in the form of a new created Earth out of this current Earth that is in a state of decay, just like our physical bodies are in a state of decay. We are linked to the clay of the Earth. He redeemed us, and He redeems the Earth also! So ultimately, we are clothed from above with our glorified bodies, and the New Jerusalem comes down out of heaven directly above from God also. This is not some figurative language, but it is what it EXACTLY says it is. God couldn’t make any clear than this.
Reminder, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.” Timothy 3:16,17 For the New Jerusalem comes down from heaven above, onto a New Earth!
“Then I saw a new heaven (οὐρανός / ouranos) and a new earth, for the first heaven (οὐρανός / ouranos) and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven (οὐρανός / ouranos) from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” — Revelation 21:1–2
The Details and Forensic Meaning of Ouranos (οὐρανός)
The Greek word used by John in Revelation 21:1–2 is οὐρανός (ouranos, Strong’s #3772):
- Lexical Definition: οὐρανός refers to the vaulted expanse of the sky, the atmospheric air, the visible starry realm, and the celestial abode of God.
- The Three-Tiered Spatial Architecture: In Hebrew and Koine Greek cosmology, ouranos spans three distinct vertical realms:
- The First Heaven (Ouranos): The physical atmosphere, air, and weather envelope in which birds fly and clouds reside (Genesis 1:20).
- The Second Heaven (Ouranos / Stereōma): The vaulted, crystalline firmament canopy and starry expanse spanning above the stationary Earth plane (Genesis 1:6–8, Job 37:18).
- The Third Heaven (Ouranos): The uncreated, eternal throne room of God above the firmament pavement (2 Corinthians 12:2, Ezekiel 1:26).
Why the “First Heaven” Passes Away for Physical Renewal
- The Physical Canopy Under Decay: The “first heaven” that passes away in Revelation 21:1 is not God’s uncreated Third Heaven throne room (which never fell into sin and never requires renewal). It refers strictly to the first and second heavens—our enclosed atmosphere and crystalline firmament canopy.
- The Enclosed Terrarium: Because Adam’s treason in Genesis 3 dragged both human biology (CLAY) and the physical estate (LAND) under entropic decay (nekros), the enclosed atmospheric sky and firmament dome absorbed that sentence (Romans 8:20–22).
- The Thermal Renovation (2 Peter 3:10): Under the Law of the Goel (Kinsman-Redeemer), King Jesus bought back the entire physical estate. At Count Zero day, the old, curse-touched atmospheric elements (stoicheia) are thermal-purged and re-crystallized into a pristine, uncursed New Heaven (Ouranos Kainos) extending level and infinitely over the Renewed Earth!

Pray to God:
Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?
Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”
~ Bob George teaches that Jesus’ death on the cross provided forgiveness for everyone, and that Christ’s resurrected life is what brings salvation—salvation is life. He presents salvation as grounded entirely in Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, and says that no amount of human effort, religious ritual, law-keeping, church attendance, baptism, tongues, giving, or moral self-improvement can be added to the gospel, because eternal life is received by faith in Jesus alone. He also points to the assurance believers have when they trust His finished work, the promise of a future heavenly or spiritual body from God, and the daily call to live by faith and dependence on Christ rather than by physical sight or self-righteous striving.
“Meanwhile, we groan, longing to be clothed of their heavenly dwelling, because because when we are clothed, we’re not naked. And while we are in this tent, this body down here on this earth, we groan and are burdened because we do not wish to be unclothed to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling. In other words, is there not inside of each and every Christian a person who is truly in Jesus a thought of wanting to be with God? You know, I say the world comes out and they say, “Man, I’m so discouraged. I won’t commit suicide. And we Christians just say, “Wish Lord, hurry up and come back. Same thing. We just want to get out of here. There is a desire to have our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal-that’s this body down here, it’s mortal, may be swallowed up by life. What kind of life? Spiritual life. Now it is God who makes us for this very purpose, and He gives us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. So we know this is going to come. We know that one of these days, that we will be absent from the body and present with the Lord, and that happens simultaneous. And I believe that we get our glorified bodies at that moment. It doesn’t say we will get our bodies. It said we have one waiting for us, and we’ll learn in a moment how He brought that about. Therefore, we’re always confident, and we know that as long as we are home in the body, we’re away from the Lord. What does it mean to that? He said, “We live by faith and not by sight. What do you mean, away from the Lord? Away from the physical presence of God. In other words, we don’t live by sight. We don’t see Him.
And so, as long as we’re in this body of ours, then we don’t see God with our with our eyes, we walk by faith, don’t we? That’s that’s how we walk is by faith, and without faith, it’s what impossible to please God. So we walk by faith. We’re confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make our goal to please Him, and again, guys, what is it that pleases God? What does it say? Without what? Without faith, it’s impossible to please God. What does God want us to do on this earth? The same thing that the Son did: walk in dependency upon the Father to tell us what to do, and what to say, and how to say it. To walk by faith, to walk in dependency. It’s like a vine and a branch. He gave us the greatest illustration in the world, guys. The vine and the branch. I’m the vine; you’re the branch. And he who abides in me, and I in him, he it is that will do what? Bear much fruit. And apart from me, you can do how much? Nothing.” ~ Bob George

Bob George 0:28
Because for me to be saved, I have to agree with God first and foremost what He said about me. He said I’m dead, and He said I’m a sinner. And then, and now, if I agree with him, well, how big of a sinner? All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. There’s none righteous, no, not one. That pretty well takes care of it. And an unrighteous person will never go into the presence of God. So now I know my condition. Now I’m ready to hear about his provision. If I got a brain. If if that’s true, now is there a provision for this, or do I just pull myself up by my bootstraps and work harder? Said no, there’s a provision, and it’s Me. That’s what I came to do: was to give you life. I took away what caused your death at the cross, every sin that anyone has ever committed was taken away at the cross. Do you believe that or don’t you? How many sins did Jesus die for at the cross, guys? Had a lady call the other night, and she said, “said Well, if you come to Christ, yeah, what was your understanding? Well, Jesus died for my sins. Well, how many of them? How many of them did he die for? Well, all that I had done up to the day I came to Christ. In other words, all of my past sins. And I said, how many of your sins were future sins when Jesus died for you 2000 years ago? I don’t think you’re that old. How many of your sins did Jesus die for 2000 years ago, guys? And how many of them are in the future? Seems to me all of them. He lied for the sins of the whole world back to Adam and forwards to eternity, and there he who knew no sin became sin for you and me, so that we could become the righteousness of God. Where? In Him, in Him. What’s that mean? In His resurrection. You see, many times we’re we’re just satisfied. We’re walking down the aisles and saying, “Oh Lord, please forgive my sins, and take walk back to the pews as dead as you walk down the aisle. See, that’s why they call them pews. There’s so many dead people sitting in them. Guys, you’re not saved by getting your sins forgiven. I want us to understand that you couldn’t have one without the other, but please don’t mistake one for the other. The forgiveness of sin was what prepared you for salvation, and you couldn’t have salvation apart from that preparation. But please do not believe that salvation is getting your sins forgiven.
You’re saved by His life, Romans five eight. While we were yet enemies, that means what? Lost. We were. That’s past tense. Reconciled to God through the death of His Son. So when were you reconciled? You were born reconciled. How much more, having been reconciled, shall you be saved by His what? His life. You’re not saved by the death of Christ. You’re saved by the life of Christ. Now you could not be saved with eternal life, had it not been for the eternal consequence of the cross. Do we understand that? So when you’re denying the assurance of your salvation, you’re denying that you’re saved eternally. What you’re doing is denying the cross. You’re spitting in the face of Jesus and saying you didn’t you didn’t get them all, God? You forgot one. The assurance of salvation, eternal life, eternal salvation is not to me even a theological issue. It’s an issue of are you going to believe Jesus did what He said or aren’t you? Because if Jesus took away forever the sins of the whole world, and what is it that caused spiritual death? Sin. What do you do with your sin? Took it away eternally. Had it not been for that act, you and I wouldn’t have eternal life today. Well, I see. Now you tell somebody that, and they’re going to go out, and you’re just giving them a license to sin. I tell people I don’t need a license to sin. I sin quite well without a license, and so do you. I haven’t noticed that people under the law have been less sinners.
As a matter of fact, does not the Bible say that the power of sin is in the law? And if you want to keep a guy sinning, just keep him under the power of sin, and you’ll keep him under the law. Under the law, and you’ll keep him under the power of sin, and then beat him up next Sunday, and then say, “Y’all come back and beat you up again. Now, guys, that’s salvation. It can only be accomplished by one person, not being narrow-minded. That’s God’s way. God had a way to save you and me. He loved you so much that He says, “I’m going to have to. I want to save you. I want to save you from your condition of spiritual death, and the only way I can do that is through my resurrected life. And in order for me to be resurrected, I got to die. In order to die, I’m going to have to pay the price for their sins. So I’m going to have to suffer. That’s the suffering Messiah. So he came to this earth. He fulfilled the law in its entirety by walking in perfect love. And the Scripture tells us that perfect love is the fulfillment of the law. So he fulfilled the law by walking in perfect love, and having fulfilled the law, he then died. In the gospel, remember two weeks ago we were studying what is the gospel: death, burial, and resurrection. Why did he put burial in there? It’s a proof of death. What’s important about that? Because in Hebrews, it talks about a will. How many of you have a will? Okay, and when will that will go into effect? When you die. Now you’ve made it now, haven’t you? And you could make a bunch of them along the way, but the only one that will go into effect is the last one that you made prior to death. So, and and your death has to be proven before the will goes into effect. And so that’s the it’s the meaning of of he he walked on this earth, and he and he died. He was he went to the cross and he died, and then he’s raised to life.
Now, what was the purpose of raising him to life? If you and I are going to come alive, how are we going to have to? What’s going to have to happen to us? We have to be raised, aren’t we? We’re going to be raised from the dead. That’s the first resurrection, really, for you and me. When we were born again, we were raised from our condition of spiritual death. All of us were born dead. There’s your problem, guys. It’s not how again. It’s not how bad you’ve been or how good you’ve been. How are you going to measure that? How are you going to judge someone by how bad you’ve been? What if what if you measured it? If you were 51% you’re okay, and you say, “Well, I got the 50 and a half. Lord, please. I mean, you’re not going to get me for just that little half percent, are you? You can’t measure someone that way by how good. How good would you have to be? I’ve asked rabbis before. You believe in a Messiah? Absolutely, I believe in a Messiah. Just how much greater is he going to have to be than Jesus? How many more miracles is he going to have to do than Jesus did? Just how much more loving is your Messiah going to have to be than Jesus was? How many more miracles is he going to have to perform than Jesus did? It’s a never-ending question, and so he neutralized the entire world. He took the law away at the cross. Remember, it was nailed to the cross. You know, you’re never going to be saved by the law. No man will ever be declared righteous in the sight of God through what? Obedience to the law. Why? Because you can’t do it. And James says, if you’ve obeyed the whole law and just violated one. You violated all of them. Is that right or wrong? Do you want to go stand before God, saying I was a law keeper? Not me, you? Say, Lord, did you see how good I was? Said, Yeah, I sure did. That’s why you’re going to hell.
You’re not gaged by how good you are. You’re gaged by how dead you are. That’s the whole issue. No man will ever go to hell because of his sins. Do you believe that? Only one sin. Jesus said the world’s sin is what? Unbelief in me is only one sin, only one question God will ever ask you. What did you do with my Son? So I ask you, what did you do with the Son of God? Ignored him, passively indifferent toward him, belligerent toward him, or accept him, because if you’ve accepted him, you have eternal life. You say, “Well, man, I don’t deserve this. None of us did. If we got what we deserved, we’d all go to hell, wouldn’t we? Aren’t you glad you don’t get what you deserve from God? And so the whole issue is that when you get absent from the body, and you go into the presence of God. The question that’s going to be asked is, “What’d you do in the Son? Now, obviously, He already knows the answer to that. Or, what did you do to deserve to be in my heaven? What if God asked you that question right now? Let’s say you got just kind of went up there. What did you do to deserve to get up here? Well, Lord, didn’t you see stained glass windows that I bought, and didn’t you see that I went to church, and did you see that I tithed occasionally? I told people I tithe all the time, but since occasion, I’ll be honest with you, Lord. Just a white lie, though. It’s not. That’s not like a lie. It’s just a little white one. I was good. Oh, I was good. Is that what you’re going to say to him? Are you going to say, Lord, I didn’t do anything except accept your Son? There’s only one reason that I deserve to be in your presence, and that’s your reason that I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, and I became born again.
Now, guys, is that good news or is it bad news? You see, if you’re all puffed up with legalism and you’re all puffed up in self righteousness, and believe me, that is very prevalent. Puffed up in self righteousness. You don’t like that message. That’s why people want to add to the gospel. Now remember what he said saved you: death, burial, and resurrection. Do you see anything in there about baptism? Anybody see anything about baptism and death, burial, and resurrection? I don’t see anything. Do you? Well, then why do people teach that you got to be baptized to be saved? Because they’ve added to the gospel. And you know what Paul says about anyone who adds to the gospel? Let him forever be accursed. Why? Because he’s telling lies that can send people to hell. Because if I believed that all I had to do to be saved was go in that place and get dunked up there, then that dunking is what saved me. Am I right or wrong? And guys, let me tell you something. Any time that you add to the gospel, whatever you add becomes the focal point of everything that you do. That’s what you talk to people about. That’s what you tell them they need to do to be saved. Church of Christ, Baptismal regeneration-that’s how you’re saved, dunked in our waters, and don’t have any musical instruments. Where that came from, I don’t know. Can be nice people, decent people, but not good people. And God says you’re not saved if you believe there’s anything that can save you except Jesus, nothing you do can save you. Do you believe that? And you have people add tongues. If you don’t speak in tongues, you’re not saved. Where do you find that? Where do you find death, burial, resurrection in tongues? And just how important would that be, guys? If you didn’t have a tongue, what if you got your tongue cut out when you were over as a GI in Japan and was in those concentration camps? Would sometimes they cut the tongue the tongues out of people? What do you do? A second-rate citizen from that point on lost your salvation? You see, anything we do can be taken away. It’s irrelevant. It’s only what he did. So whenever you add anything to the gospel, you’ve diminished the gospel.
Amy and I were with some people on a vacation type deal, and all the ladies said, “Nice lady. They’re from from over in France or someplace, but all she would say is, “I’m a good person. I’m a good person, and and I’ll tell you, you know, it’s not easy to say, “No, you’re not. But I said, “No, you’re not, because if you don’t agree with God, what He says about you, how are you going to agree with Him, what He says about Himself?

And writers of Scripture say, “Let them be forever accursed. Why? Because you’re telling people something that’s going to send them to hell, because they’re going to believe something besides what the Bible says. Well, now in our remaining time, let’s turn to the Scripture. Now, where do we go? Where do we go now? We’re in Christ Jesus. All of us are going to die someday. So, what do we know about that? It’s been revealed to us by Christ. Now we know that if the earthly tent that we live in is destroyed, so He calls this body of ours a tent. What is a tent? It’s a temporary dwelling, isn’t it? Didn’t call it a hotel or a building. He called it a tent. Just just a tent that’s dispensable. When that tent of ours is destroyed, we have a building from God. Now you’ll notice it doesn’t say that we will get. He says that we know that when this tent of ours is destroyed, that we have waiting for us a building from God. And what is that building? Your body, and what kind of a body is it? Well, the Bible will tell us. We’ll get to that if not today, next week. You got two types. You got a spiritual body. You got a natural body. Your mom and dad gave you your natural body, and God’s going to give you your spiritual body. So He says you got two of those. We have a building from God, an eternal house or a body in heaven, not built with human hands. Meanwhile, we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, with this new body of ours, because when we’re clothed, we will not be found naked.
Now, again, guys, when you’re young, you know, and you got good abs, and I I like what I heard on some program there. They were _____ ________, and they had these guys that were these acrobats, and man, they had these abs out there. And he said, in all of my life, I’ve never looked like that, and I thought me either. They may have them. I don’t even remember ever even coming close to looking like that. Well, you got these good bodies, and you think, well, you know, this is going to last forever. No, it isn’t. You’re going to get old and sagging bag someday, just like the rest of us, if you make it that long. But you’re going to get a new body, and that new body is indestructible. This down here is temporal; that’s a tent.
Meanwhile, we groan, longing to be clothed of their heavenly dwelling, because because when we are clothed, we’re not naked. Same thing. What do you mean, away from the Lord? Away from the physical presence of God. In other words, we don’t live by sight. We don’t see Him.
And so, as long as we’re in this body of ours, then we don’t see God with our with our eyes, we walk by faith, don’t we? The same thing that the Son did: walk in dependency upon the Father to tell us what to do, and what to say, and how to say it. To walk by faith, to walk in dependency. It’s like a vine and a branch. He gave us the greatest illustration in the world, guys. The vine and the branch. I’m the vine; you’re the branch. And he who abides in me, and I in him, he it is that will do what? Bear much fruit. And apart from me, you can do how much? Nothing.
My Australian brother who came, and I tell you guys that was a that was a wonderful thrill for me to have this pastor coming over to just a visit, and then to know that back in Australia, there’s a church there proclaiming this good news and reaching hundreds of people with it, but he was explaining to me something that I didn’t know. Maybe, maybe you do. But he says that when you graft in a branch into a vine, that the vine never rejects the branch; the branch rejects the vine, and that’s something. And you stop to think. That’s just our picture. Jesus doesn’t reject you and me. He wishes that all should come to repentance. Did he not? It’s my will that all should come to repentance. So I’m not going to reject you. You may reject me, but I’m not going to reject you. You may reject my plan because my plan is Jesus only, and you’re saying I don’t want that. I want to add to it. I don’t want to spend the rest of my life thanking Jesus for His forgiveness. I want to be asking Him for it. I want a part of this action. I want for someplace down the line, even though He died and took away the sins of the world. I want someplace down the line to believe that there’s a little black mark up there when I sin that I have the ability to get it erased. So don’t tell me that I don’t have anything to do with it. I just say I’m going to tell you you don’t have anything to do with it. You didn’t have anything to do with salvation anymore, and you had to do with creation, and you have nothing to do with your forgiveness that was provided for you. The person said, “What do you do when you sin? I thank God. That’s what I do when I sin. I thank God for the provision that He made for me 2000 years ago at a cross, where He who knew no sin became sin for me, so that I could become the righteousness of God in Him. And I recognize the truth that every time I sin, I’m dealing with the fruit, not the root, because the root of why I sinned was I wasn’t trusting Jesus. Any time you sin, I don’t care what you’re doing. Everything that you do that’s all messed up is because you’re not trusting Jesus. Am I right or wrong? That’s the root of it. So why sit around messing with the fruit when you can get to the root, and I’m going to get down to the root and ask God to let Him know that I know that the root of my problem is that I’m not trusting Jesus. I’m listening to the lie of satan that lives in you. The satan lives around you to lie to you. Isn’t that something? He continually lies to you, and you have God, Holy Spirit, continually giving truth to you. You got an option. Who you going to listen to, Lord? I listened to Satan. I wasn’t listening to you. Now I’ve got to the root of the problem.
That’s what you do when you sin. People say, No, no, no. You keep short accounts with God. Keep your slate clean. Oh, really? Where do you find that in the Bible? Well, now Bob, you don’t understand. I realize because I’m a Baptist, and I realize that you don’t lose your salvation because we we believe in eternal security, but you lose your fellowship. Oh really? Where do you find that in the Bible? Where do you find you lose your fellowship in the Bible? Fellowship in the Bible is two fellows in the same ship. He said, “You were called into fellowship with God. You don’t bounce in out of fellowship. I was taught that. I grew up with that. Every time you sinned, you’re out of fellowship. How many of you ever heard that one? There’s only one problem. It’s not in the Bible. And we have people. You know, I’ve had pastors sit there like this until they read the Bible, it’s a strange, it’s amazing what’ll happen when you read the Scripture. It’s not there. Or that God can’t look on sin. Well, then how did Jesus get here? If God can’t look on sin, what was Jesus doing here in the midst of sin? So we got him on our chair. We got a little swivel chair that God’s on, and and then remember that he can’t look at it. So every time you sin, well, round he goes, and then you First John one nine back he comes again, and so he’s up there twirling around, dizzy as could be, but I did it. I kept my slate clean.
Guys, that is ego. That is pride. That is saying I’m going to get involved in this equation. And God says, No, you’re not. I love you too much to let you get involved in this equation. It’s me, or it’s nothing. You either accept totally what I have done, and nothing of what you’ve done, or you come up with your own plan, and that ain’t going to work. When you come into my presence, you’re going to be clothed in my righteousness, not in yours. Remember the story: the guy went in, he’s old and clothes, got kicked out. You’re going to come clothed in my righteousness, and if you don’t come clothed in my righteousness, you’re not going to enter into the wedding feast. And so, what is this, guys? What’s the conclusion to all this? It’s all Jesus, and none of us. And so, what is our role in this whole area, young people, girl at your age or mine-opposite ends of life. The newly wed and the nearly dead. What’s the solution to this? Faith. So when it pleases God, faith. You come the Lord empty-handed. It’s not Lord here I am and I’ll do this. It’s Lord empty-handed, without one plea, except Jesus, my Savior, died for me. That’s it. Empty-handed. You can do so as a young person, old person, whatever it might be. But for goodness’ sakes, if you haven’t done that, if you haven’t accepted that, what are you waiting on? You may not be here tomorrow. You know, again, that’s that 200-year plan. You don’t know what’s going to happen to you on your way home today, but the issue is you can know from this day forth that whenever that occurs, and it is going to occur, this thing called death, that I’m going to be absent from the body and present with the Lord. Now, guys, that’s thinking ahead. That’s using your mind to think ahead, because we’re all going to die. And the issue is, where do I want to spend eternity? In God’s presence, or in satan’s? Those are the only two options available to us. And so, as we close today, to those in this room as well as listening on the internet, if that decision has not been made, regardless of your age, will you make it today and invite the loving, living, gentle Jesus to come into your heart and to be your Lord and Savior, and to guide you through this life ahead.
