Classic Christianity – Bob George (12-18-18)

Bob George shares from the synoptic gospels, helping people have confidence in God’s word for truth, for the things written down for us were through eyewitnesses of Jesus Christ. The writers of the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, were men who have been with and have seen Jesus. When someone ponders over God’s word, great news is made known to man through the work of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ did something for man he could never do for himself. Amazingly, man must simply believe in what Jesus said he came to do and has now been accomplished. Jesus came to save mankind from his sins and man must simply believe in what God said he came to do and did. From reading the account from Luke, what can we learn about simple faith, comparing and contrasting the response of Zechariah to an angel’s announcement of the birth of John the Baptist with the response of Mary to an angel’s announcement of the birth of Jesus Christ? What implication can be drawn to Mary’s faith to us today in regards to the gospel message of salvation in Jesus completed work? What role does man play in regard to salvation?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Bob George (12-17-18) Synoptic Gospels

Bob George shares from the synoptic gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to provide insight into the greatest story ever told about the greatest man who ever lived. He shares insight from what God has revealed to men through eyewitnesses, those who walked and talked with Jesus. Indeed, Jesus is more than a man and a good teacher. He indeed is God in the flesh. He is three parts in one, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This concept, or doctrine, is often referred to as the Trinity. Bob shares an illustration in order to help explain the Trinity. There is so much information concerning Jesus. Not only do we have the reports of eyewitnesses but we have the writings of the prophets of the Old Testament. Did you know there are over 600 prophecies concerning the coming of the Messiah, and those prophecies were all fulfilled in Jesus Christ? It would be wise for people to look into these things more closely. Have you ever heard in a Christmas carol these words: “Oh come Emmanuel”? Do you know what that means? Emmanuel means God with us. Have you thought about the meaning of such words?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Ephesians 4:22-28

22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26 “In your anger do not sin”[d]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Bob George (12-11-18) Continuation of Message from Monday

Bob George shares insight from the book of Ephesians, particularly the first four chapters.

The first four chapters of Ephesians explains what Christ means to us. Jesus Christ completed the work that he began in us. He did it all. He created the universe, recreated you and me, those born again spiritually, into a new creation. He has given us his life and became life for us. He has not just given us his life but he is our life. That is why the Apostle Paul could say:

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Prior to the day of Pentecost nobody is indwelt with the Spirit of God. The Spirit came on men for divine service and then could leave. That is why David prayed this prayer in the Psalms.

Psalm 51:11
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.

Why David prayed that the Spirit not be taken from him is because in the time period he lived, long before Jesus even walked the earth, before he died to take away sin, the Holy Spirit did not take permanent residence in men.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John P25 (12-05-18)

Bob George continues teaching from the book of John. He is currently in John 7 where the religious leaders are trying to turn the crowd against Jesus and many of the Jews are not understanding and are divided concerning Jesus. Some say Jesus is the prophet. Others say Jesus is the Messiah. Some Jews who knew some facts from scripture lacked full understanding and so doubted Jesus being the Messiah. Jesus clearly explained who he was, that he came from Heaven. Jesus had a message to shared concerning his death, burial and resurrection. But more than than that. He also told them that he will return to His Father so that he can send the Holy Spirit to dwell in men. Bob explains more thoroughly with other supporting scriptures to explain the significance of the Holy Spirit taking residence in the lives of men. The religious leaders, as well as others, could only think in the natural realm. The religious leaders wondered what he meant by saying he is going away. Is he going away to a far away country? Jesus is going to die, be raised again, and return to His Father in heaven.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
