Choose Jesus For Life

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P61 (03-30-20)

Synopsis

We are in the book of Romans where Paul said he was going to Jerusalem. Paul was determined to finish the race God had set out for him. He would not be hindered or set off course by the warnings of men in regards to danger and his safety. Whatever God has called him to say and do or where to go, that is what he will do and go. Do we have that same resolve, of single-minded focus on Christ, on our real purpose on this earth God has called us to, knowing that this life on earth is temporary. Do people realize that they will all die one day, and we will either wake up in the presence of God, living with Him forever, or live eternally separated from God in a place called hell?

Listen along as Bob George retells what has transpired in Paul’s decision to go Jerusalem, highlighting the attitude of his heart, that to live is Christ and to die is gain. Follow along in Romans 15, and also the end of Acts 20, providing more detail. Acts 21 also provides more detail of his arrival in Jerusalem, meeting up with the Jewish believers under the leadership of James, another apostle and half-brother of Jesus.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Salvation - Eternal Life in Jesus
Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P524 (03-27-20)

Synopsis

Listen as Bob George answers practical questions in the world today, about Christian psychology, excuses of men, and turning your back on God, false converts, false teachers, denominational creeds or persuasions rather than the truth of the word of God, and what is it that Jesus spoke about in the sermon on the mount. Bob addressed in more detail why Jesus came to earth, what his mission was, and why Jesus taught what he taught as someone born of a virgin, under the law, to fulfill the law and to uphold the law for us. I thought this was worth repeating so I will quote what Bob had shared. Bob: Most people do not understand the purpose of why Jesus taught on this earth. He taught because he was headed to a cross to bring salvation. His teaching prior to salvation did not bring salvation. It identified the condition of man and therefore prepared them for salvation. His goal was the cross and the resurrection. He went to the cross to take away the sins of the world and then the resurrection to bring life from the dead, to bring the solution to the wages of sin, which is death, by the resurrected life of Christ Jesus.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is the Only Righteous One
Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P523 (03-26-20)

Synopsis

Listen as Bob counsels with a person who is on the verge of divorce. The focus is really on a heart problem, not a marriage problem. The goal is not to get back married but to find out what truth is so reconciliation can take place. That is the counsel Bob gave. Listen as Bob explains several passages of scripture in detail. Another issue he also addressed was law and grace. What was the attitudes in the scriptures for? Was it so we can live up to those standards? No. That is impossible for man to do. The key to living is to first become born again and then learn to allow the Lord to teach you what it means to let Him live His life in you and through you. When you are born again, you are a child of God. The attitude of your heart is to love God, to know what the Lord desires. When you know experience the love of God, you are not seeking to destroy one another. Bob speaks with another caller to address what repentance means. Unfortunately, most words in common use today have been watered down and really have no meaning to it at all.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Be Grace Sanctified

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P60 (03-25-20)

Synopsis

As believers, we are being sanctified even as we are sanctified. Sanctified means that you are set apart for the purpose God created you. God made you into a new creation, a child of God, with His Spirit living in you. We have the mind of Christ so in our thinking we are to think differently than the world, who knows not God nor has the Spirit. So we are already sanctified. We are to walk by faith in accordance with who you are, a child of God.

God also wants us to grow, to allow ourselves to become sanctified in this world we live in. God wants to renew your mind so you live in accordance with His good purposes for you. So we are to think soberly and guard our minds.

Romans 12:1-2
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Jesus is The Grace of God

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P59 (03-24-20)

Synopsis

We have much to be grateful for, for Jesus, the Jew, the born again Jew, and to the apostle Paul, a Jew, through whom we came to know the truth of the gospel and how to live in the new life God has given us. Paul provided much instruction to the believers in Christ so they may grow to maturity. He not only delighted in sharing the gospel with them, but his life with them as well.

Recall in Romans 8 how he shared about the proper functioning of the body of Christ, each individual with unique spiritual gifts from God, so the body may be encouraged and learn from each other, so they too may learn how to operate in that gift even if they were not specifically given that spiritual gift. It truly is more blessed to give than to receive.

So Paul delighted in being with other believers, and his heart attitude was so that we may be mutually encouraged by one another’s faith. He was not a lone ranger Christian. He asked for prayer, that he may boldly proclaim the gospel as clearly as he ought. He was commissioned by God as an apostle to the Gentiles, and he served in that capacity whole-heartedly.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is True Righteousness

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P58 (03-23-20)

Synopsis

We are in Romans 15. Bob George provides further background information in our study of Romans. He discusses how Jesus was a Jew, and so were all the apostles and prophets He raised up to bring he message of good news, the gospel, to all mankind. Just as today, you have religion in conflict or in contradiction to a real genuine relationship with the living God, through Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh. You had orthodox Jews and you had the conservative Jew, and you had the born again Jew. So too today. You have the religious people, the secular people, and the born again people, who came out from among all nations, peoples, and tongues. The gospel went to the Jew first, and then to the Gentile. That is why the Jew has a special place in the heart of a born again Gentile. It was through the apostle Paul, a Jew, that we have the scriptures in our own language today, so we might know God and His Son Jesus Christ, and come to know we have eternal life. With eternal life, we are made into a new creation, and this grace of God, this Spirit of Christ Jesus, as it work within us, renewing our minds, so we learn to live in accordance with the Spirit’s desires.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
