Classic Christianity – Book of John P24 (12-04-18)

Bob George shares from the book of John beginning at John 7:25. What do people do to understand the bible? Do they rely on their own understanding, as the Jews did when Jesus spoke truth from heaven. So many people are confused about truth. The age old question people have asked is “What is truth?”. So do we need to study Greek to understand the bible but yet cannot find Christians in Greece. Do we need understand Hebrews but not all Hebrews are Christian. So do we need to go to seminary to learn hermeneutics or some system of theology? Why is there so much division of who Jesus is?

John 7:25-27
25 At that point some of the people of Jerusalem began to ask, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill? 26 Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Messiah? 27 But we know where this man is from; when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from.”

Halfway through the Tabernacle Feast, Jesus made himself known. Before that people were confused about him, some saying he was a good man and others saying he deceives the people.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John P23 (12-03-18)

Welcome to Classic Christianity radio with Bob George. Bob George continues teaching from the book of John. From John 7, Bob encourages people to seek to do God’s will and to seek Christ first. Yet so many in the world today stay focused only on the natural things of the world and many still today argue about Jesus. Why do people fail to come to Christ for life today? What spiritual message did Jesus speak? What does he want people to know concerning himself? Do you come to Jesus for what he can do for you, such as healing, physical need of food or water, forgiveness, or do you come to Jesus because of who he is, eternal life, and to receive that life? Have you recognized that you are spiritually dead and in need of life, not physical life but spiritual life? Is this the time for you to come to have life in His name?

Jesus, the man from heaven, came to bring life to man. But man is born spiritually dead because of sin. The cause of death is sin. Jesus came to die to take care of the sin problem of all men by dying on the cross to pay the price of death for sin, which no man could pay.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John P22 (11-28-18)

Bob George TeachingBob George highlights some of the things Jesus did that identifies him as God. Yet many among his own family and own town did not believe in him. How can that be? Have you ever heard a lie and held onto that lie as if it was true? Think of a little lie about Mary being an ever virgin? What other things would you be willing to believe once you believe that? Would you believe in Mary being worshiped as a co-redeemer? That is an example of false teaching today that leads people away from the new life available in Christ Jesus. There is another reason people could not understand spiritual things. All of us were born spiritually dead. That is why Jesus used illustrations from the physical world to explain spiritual truth men know nothing about nor could they. Not until Pentecost, after Jesus finished the work he came to do, was the Holy Spirit given to men, to permanently indwell men, to never leave or forsake them, to those who believe, to be their counselor and guide them into all truth.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John P21 (11-27-18)

Bob George TeachingBob George continues sharing from the book of John about what the life of Jesus Christ is all about. He reiterates some points he spoke yesterday, comparing and contrasting the natural man with the the spiritual man. Bob shares about a strange-sounding teaching, eating flesh and drinking blood, that Jesus spoke. Very strange sounding stuff to the natural man. Bob closes out teaching from John 6 and then continues into John 7, introducing the Jewish feast of tabernacles, Jesus relationship with his physical brothers and sisters, who did not believe in Him. Bob explains what believing in Jesus really means, not an intellectual assent to facts, but really knowing Jesus personally as God in the flesh, whom you can come to know as a person to whom you can communicate with in spiritual understanding. The main point he emphasized was that all people should look to the word of God for truth, and if one has the proper attitude, to want to know God, rather than gain honor for himself, one can be led to come to Christ and receive eternal life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John P20 (11-26-18)

Bob George TeachingAfter a Thanksgiving message last several days, Bob George continues teaching from the book of John. In John 6, many were following Jesus to watch him heal the sick. Jesus later miraculously fed over 5000 people with five loaves and two fish, many more followed him. But why did they follow him? In previous lessons, Bob explained from scriptures that Jesus did none of these of these things on his own initiative. For Jesus purpose was much greater than the miracles. The message of eternal life is the message he came to bring, and there was work he had to complete for eternal life to be offered to men.

John 5:35-38

35 John shone brightly for a while, and you benefited and rejoiced, 36 but I have a greater witness than John. I refer to the miracles I do; these have been assigned me by the Father, and they prove that the Father has sent me. 37 And the Father himself has also testified about me, though not appearing to you personally, or speaking to you directly. 38 But you are not listening to him, for you refuse to believe me—the one sent to you with God’s message.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Bob George Thanksgiving p3 (11-23-18)

Bob George TeachingWelcome to Bob George Classic Christianity radio with Bob George, the clear and timeless teaching on the complete forgiveness and unconditional love of Jesus Christ as you learn about God’s amazing love. Bob shares from Romans 5 starting in verse 12. From there he teaches about law and grace, how the law is for the lost to recognize their condition of spiritual death in sin so that they may come to Christ by faith. When someone is born again, a spiritual new birth, then they are no longer under law but under grace. Bob explains what salvation is by first explaining what so many erroneously teach. Salvation is not just that you sinned and need your sins forgiven. No, the lost man is dead spiritually and in need of new life, God’s life. He may seem to you to be a nice guy but if he is lost he is still dead. Bob exposes erroneous thinking or practices; the law as a standard of holiness, the false hope offered in religion in the world today, legalism, the mixing of law and grace, the false notion that someone can be in and out of fellowship with God determined by sin and confession, and the false concept of progressive sanctification, where eventually the believer can eventually stop sinning.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
