Jessie asked advice on whether it was okay to ask God for forgiveness. He never knew his earthly father and so was trying to discern how to relate to his heavenly Father. Bob George graciously shared that asking God for forgiveness is not exercising faith because Jesus already forgave us all our sins when he died 2000 years ago in our place.
