Synopsis

Jesus told us that the gospel will go out into all the world and then the end will come. So we are busy about doing what God has called us to do, to make God known. The reason we are here is to proclaim Him. Make the most of every opportunity, for the days are evil.

Jesus Christ is the solution to the world’s problems. It will not be solved by peace treaties and doing good to others. The problem goes deeper than that. It is a problem in the human heart, of mankind being born dead to God. We are born dead spiritually, that is, without the Spirit of God living in us. Unless a man is born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. The only life available to mankind is the resurrected life of Christ Jesus.

Many people experience depression. It seems it comes upon people because of injury, insult or rejection. There is often fear and anger associated with that. You do not want to experience that again. There is fear that you will. You have experienced those same patterns again and again. The truth to that matter, that is part of what Jesus said, that in this world you shall have tribulation. The key to overcoming depression is not by trying to alleviate the problem but by getting to know the perfect, unconditional love of God. For God Himself said that since He has overcome the world, and He lives in you and will never leave you or forsake you, that in Him, you too can overcome the world. He said that perfect love casts out fear.

This renewing of your mind will not happen overnight, but as you listen to the Lord and let Him speak to you through His word, you will begin to see your life transformed in your thinking. Oh, the depths of the wisdom of God. The Jews are bound in disobedience for now, because they did not recognize the Messiah. The Gentiles, who did not pursue God, were found by God, and received mercy, because they believed the message of Christ Jesus. A day is coming when the last Gentile will come in. In God“s dealing with the Gentiles, the Jews, seeing how God saved us in our disobedience, and had mercy on us all, they will be those among the Jews who will turn to Christ Jesus in faith and be saved. Untold thousands have already. But there is a day when the prince of peace will come, and they shall see the one they had pierced. All eyes shall see Him on that glorious day.

Jessie asked advice on whether it was okay to ask God for forgiveness. He never knew his earthly father and so was trying to discern how to relate to his heavenly Father. Bob George graciously shared that asking God for forgiveness is not exercising faith because Jesus already forgave us all our sins when he died 2000 years ago in our place.
