All People Are Law Breakers

Thanksgiving Law & Grace P1 – Bob George (11-25-20)

Synopsis

When we think of what Jesus did for us at the cross, we have much to be thankful for. We were born spiritually dead, born under the law of sin and death in weakened flesh. Unless we are out from under that law of sin that caused our death, then we will remain in a state of eternal death, forever separated from the Lord, miserable, wretched and without hope. But God in the person of Jesus Christ rescued us, reconciled us to Himself, having paid the just requirements of the law for us. Our sins were judged. The verdict was guilty. The punishment was death and Jesus took it all.

Jesus’ shed blood on a cross is what prepared the way for life to be given. Now that sin and death is out of the way, and He has risen from the dead. He offers the same life that raised Him from the dead to you and me. As great as it is for our sins to be forgiven, how much greater is being made alive in Christ Jesus. For if Jesus was not raised from the dead then I would still be dead in my trespasses and sins, and so would you.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Salvation - Eternal Life in Jesus

Thanksgiving P3 – Bob George (11-24-20)

Synopsis

As the Thanksgiving season is here, consider how much we have been freely given. If you are in Christ, you are free. You are free from the law. You are no longer under the law of sin and death, the law with it’s demands that you could never keep. Sin was your master and owner. In Christ, you are no longer a prisoner of the law. You were once locked up until faith should be revealed. Has faith been revealed to you? Can you now call God your Father because you have become a child of God, a new creation in Christ?

Even before the law was given, sin was in the world. All of us were born dead spiritually. The law was powerless to save you nor could it. We were already weak in our natural selves, being dead already. We keep doing what we know we ought not do and we do not do what we know we should. And when we fail, there is guilt under the law. Then why was the law given? The law was added so that man may see his condition of spiritual death and seek a Savior.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Salvation is Life in Jesus

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P13 (11-02-20)

Synopsis

If you have not already, get a copy of A Closer Look at Jesus Christ. We have studied the person of Jesus Christ, Who Did Jesus Christ Claim to Be?, A Madman or God in the Flesh. We read from the scriptures what Jesus claimed about Himself, that He is God. Then the question was asked, Who Do You Say that I Am?. If you have concluded that Jesus is God, and came to offer you eternal life, then an explanation was given of what it means to be Receiving the Offer of Life. Now we are studying What Others Claimed About Jesus Christ. So today we read what John the apostle said concerning Jesus Christ.

In summary, God sent Jesus into this world to save that which is lost. When someone is lost, it is good to know someone is looking for him. The person who is lost is mankind, each and every person born into this world. All of us were born into this world spiritually dead, and in need of new life, God’s life. What is lost is our relationship with the living God due to sin, which caused our death.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

A Closer Look at Jesus Christ - Study

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P11 (10-27-20)

Synopsis

Jesus Christ is the criteria for truth, for He even identified Himself as the way, the truth and the life. And the most reliable information we have of what He said has been written down for us through those who were eyewitnesses, who walked and talked with Him when Jesus walked this earth. This is the bible, composed of 66 individual books, that we can hold in our hands. As you ponder the pages of scripture, relying on the Spirit to teach you, that is how you come to know what truth is.

But if you want to know what truth is, you first need to know who Jesus Christ is, not just about Him, but receive what He came to give. He came to give you the Holy Spirit, who He is, to come to live inside you. Who can understand the things of God, the things Jesus said that only He would know about since He came from heaven? Unless you are born again you cannot discern the things of God. The Holy Spirit has come to make Christ Jesus known to you. Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P8 (10-20-20)

Synopsis

Growing in grace is growing to understand all that God has freely given you, to know the inheritance you have in Christ Jesus, and to learn to rest in Him. It is maturing in your knowledge of the grace of God that has been extended to you in Christ Jesus. It is maturing as you hit life’s problems, trials and tribulations. We have an option to either walk by faith in Jesus who said “I am the way, the truth and the life”, or to go out and try to solve them on our own.

As we learned yesterday, God is the great I Am. But knowing that God is our creator God, what does that practically mean to you and me today? Jesus explained what that meant when He identified Himself as the I Am and illustrated with additional I Am statements, amplifying in physical terms that you and I can relate to. We know what bread and water means to our physical existence. We experience light and darkness whenever day turns to night, and see the contrast as we lay our head on a pillow at night.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is The Bread of Life

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P6 (10-14-20)

Synopsis

God has made Himself known to all men through His Son, in how He lived and in what He has done. The Spirit has gone into all the world. There is nowhere His voice has not been heard. God the Father sent His only Son into this world and the Holy Spirit revealed the Son to men, as the one whom He claimed to be, God, and God is Spirit. Those who worship God must worship Him in Spirit and in truth.

Jesus came to proclaim truth into the hearts of men, truth about themselves, their sinful condition, their condition of spiritual death, and about their need of life and that life is the life that is in Christ, who is eternal life. If you have the Son, you have that life. So He is not far from any one of you. His Spirit is drawing all men unto Himself. Will you believe the message and receive new life in Christ Jesus?

Wise men will seek to know God. They will look intently into the words of Christ, and have a heart open to hear and receive truth. But once you are found by God, there is nothing more to seek.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
