Repent And Believe Jesus is God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P827 (04-20-23)

What Does Repentance Mean in the Scriptures?

~ We repent of our unbelief in Jesus and believe in Him for salvation. When we change our mind (repent), the Holy Spirit gives us eternal life at that very moment in time.

~ “The world’s sin is unbelief in me; there is righteousness available because I go to the Father and you shall see me no more; there is deliverance from judgment because the prince of this world has already been judged.” John 16:9-11 ~ Living Bible

~ Bob George
“Repentance in the Bible, as we’ve kind of mentioned before, is a very strong word. We have watered it down like we do the word Christian and everything else would then have a meaning to it. And so repentance is the same way. It’s a very, very strong word. It is used in the Scriptures only as it relates to salvation, because you’re talking about a total change of identity, you’re not talking about I’m smoking but I’m going to repent and quit smoking, because you could start again. And that would mean you never repented. So repentance in the Scripture means a … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

The New Covenant of Jesus Christ

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P817 (03-16-23)

Jesus Taught Under the Old Covenant to Bury Us

~ “In the case of a will, it is necessary to prove the death of the one who made it, because a will is in force only when somebody has died; it never takes effect while the one who made it is living.” Hebrews 9:16,17

~ Bob George
“The New Covenant is like a will or a testament, you got an Old Testament, you have a New Testament, a will or a testament does not go into effect until the one who made it dies. And that’s why in Hebrews, it talks about the fact that a will does not go into effect until the one who made it dies. It never goes into effect, while the one who made it is living. So the New Covenant went into effect at the death of Jesus. Now, if that’s the case, which indeed it is, because he fulfilled the old, by walking in perfect love and love is the fulfillment of the law. And then he ushered in a New Covenant of grace that went into effect at the death of Christ Jesus, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Gave Us New Commands of Belief and Love

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Law & Grace P50 (02-01-23)

It’s All of Christ Jesus and none of me

~ “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:4,5

~ “Every command that Jesus gave us is an impossibility for us to carry out in the energy of our own flesh, as we just talked about, it is something that is produced by the life of the vine, not by the branch. And so Jesus gave us the illustration of how this Christian life is lived. In other words, it is not lived by us, it’s no longer I who live Paul said, It’s Christ living in us. Now, when we don’t understand that, the best that we can do, as I said, is to go out and produce something that looks like the real thing, but is not the real thing. And Satan’s greatest … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Understand What the Bible Means

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Law & Grace P49 (01-31-23)

Without The Spirit of God Living In You You Cannot Understand What The Word of God Means

~ for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16

~ “So today, we’re told that the spiritual man has the Spirit of God living inside of him with the ability now to understand what the Word of God means. That’s irregardless of your education. As a matter of fact, the Scripture says that he’ll take the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. So it’s not something of an educational deal, you don’t have to be a highly educated person in order to understand the meaning of the word of God. And in the final analysis, if we had the old and the new, totally memorized, and quite frankly, computers have that. That’s all memorized. And, and if we knew what it meant, but we don’t apply what it meant, in other words, there’s an application, I know what this says, I know what this means. Now I’m going to act upon it. … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Loved Us First

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Law & Grace P48 (01-30-23)

It’s Not That We Love God, But God, Jesus First Loved Us!

~ The only thing that counts is Love. And His Love for us is the most important thing to remember.

~ “We Love because He first Loved Us!” 1 John 4:19

~ “Now first Corinthians 13. You want to know how I (Jesus) love you? God is always patient with you. God is always kind to you. God is never easily angered with you. God never keeps records of your wrongs. Now, isn’t that now, I wonder if God never keeps records of the wrongs only if you confess and ask him to forgive you. I wonder if that’s what that means. I don’t quite think so. If that’s the case, and God ignored the kind to me when I asked him and he’d only be patient with me when I asked him and he would only not be angered with me when I asked him and he had not keep records of my wrongs only if I cleared the deck. It seems like don’t you think after a while people want to catch this? Man … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
