Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 22 (05-20-19)

Bob George continues teaching from the book of John, teaching from John 5. Bob explains what religion does, how nonsensical it is, keeping men blind and enslaved in sin and death, in contrast to the attitude of Jesus. Jesus resisted the religious and proud and extended mercy to the humble, who listened to truth and were saved unto new life.

Bob explained the complexity of the Trinity and the functioning of the godhead through the parable of the vine and the branches in John 15. Jesus came to explain the work of the Father and how he and His Father are one. Jesus showed us the working of the Trinity and his total dependence on God the Father as a way of showing us a new way to live just as he did, in total dependence on God. Jesus had the Holy Spirit living in him and listened to the voice of the Father and did only what he saw his Father doing and what His Father told him to do.

Bob explains the nature of all men, spiritually dead, devoid of the Spirit life in Jesus. Jesus came so man can recognize his condition of spiritual death.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Wisdom From God

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 19 (05-13-19)

Bob George is teaching from the gospel of John. Currently we are reading the account in John 4 of the Samaritan woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did”. Bob explains what discipleship really is, teaching others about Jesus, the person you came to know. Bob said it this way, “I am not discipling a person to be like me but discipling a person to think like Jesus.” As you share your testimony, you are getting someone’s attention about what God did for you and that God can do something for him too. Bob also exhorts the believer to share the truth of the gospel message. It is vitally important to also share the words of God, the gospel that gave you new spiritual life. The “Born Free” booklet is useful for that purpose. From there, you then disciple a believer, by continuing to share from out of that relationship you have with the living God, the truth that has been revealed to you by the Spirit of God. You are encouraging them to study to know God intimately. You are pointing them to Christ not yourself as you also are learning to let God live in you and through you.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
