Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Law & Grace P14 (10-18-22)

There is More Than One Type of Death in the Bible. The Law Produces Death in Me. Jesus Brings Life to The Dead.

~ “I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.” Romans 7:10

~ So what does that mean? “You see, you can’t serve two masters, you can’t serve the risen Christ and the law at the same time, because you’re serving one thing that produces death, and another produces life. So which one are you going to serve and if I start serving the other, I’m dead. When I serve the other, I’m alive. You can’t serve two masters. That’s what quite frankly, this scripture talking about that a double minded man is unstable in all ways. That is a man who has got one foot in the law and one foot in the grace of God. It is the condition of the Galatians, the Galatianism, you foolish, idiotic Galatians, who has hypnotized you cast an evil spell upon you? How Am I Going to Be Righteous in The Sight of God? Only Through Faith in Jesus.

~ “We know that whatever the law says, and all of course, all of this teaching in this particular lesson is what is the purpose of the law? In other words, why did God give us the law? Well, it says, Well, you know, that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced, and the whole world held accountable to God. So if you want to be under the law, you’re going to have to be accountable to God, not to one another, but accountable to God, and what the accountability to God is, have you violated the least of these my commandments in your entire lifetime? Because if you have, you’d better hope you’re not under the law, because the wages of sin is death. And it says, later on, you’re under a curse. But he’s saying this, folks, to those of you who are under the law, you’ve been taught under the law, you’re under legalism. How Can We Be Righteous Before God? Only By Faith in Jesus, the One Who is Righteous.

~ “But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 6:21-23

~ “And God says, Wait a minute, you missed the purpose. I showed you these things in order to show you your total inability to ever live up to that law. And also to tell you very clearly, that even if you did, you’d never be declared righteous in my sight through obedience to the law, that righteousness is going to have to be imputed to you declared to you.

Now it says in verse 21, but now a righteousness from God, apart from the law has been made known to which the law and the prophets testify. When We Are In Christ, Christ is In Us, Giving Us His Eternal Life!

~ When a believer in Christ Jesus dies, they are absent from the body and present with the Lord. We live by faith from first to last. As we grow in the grace of God, we learn more and more about Him. Eternal life begins the very moment you accept Jesus. Salvation is Life, His life coming to live in you for ever and ever. The cross took away all of our sins. He did not cover sins, he took it away. Because sin is no longer being counted against us, nothing can separate His eternal life from us when we have received Him. God wants you to know you have Eternal Life!

“Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:6-9

A Child of God Has Repented of Unbelief and Placed Belief in Jesus, God in the Flesh

~ When a person places faith in Jesus, God in the flesh, for what He did on the cross for them personally, God’s Holy Spirit comes to live inside the new believer in Christ. We are told that we are now a child of God. “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” John 1:12,13 We repent of our unbelief in Him and come to faith in Him. Salvation is Life. Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven. Salvation is the Life of God coming to live in you. That happens immediately upon placing faith in Him.

Most people don’t have a clue what salvation or repentance really is.
