Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 11 (04-23-19)

Bob resumes the study of the gospel of John. He is currently teaching from John 3 where Nicodemus meets Jesus at night and Jesus explains to him what it means to be born again of the Spirit of God. This is one of the most important chapters because it teaches us how to enter a brand new relationship with Christ Jesus. We not only come to him to be our Lord and Savior but also to be our teacher.

Bob shares again how man is already dead in sin, born in the nature of Adam. Man cannot give spiritual life to man because he does not have spiritual life in himself. But a man was sent from heaven to explain heavenly things to man. God sent Jesus to redeem man from the consequences of sin, which is death. Satan deceived man and man chose to believe the lie. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy but God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, not to condemn the world, but to save man through him. Man was condemned already. Man is dead and in need of life.

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 10 (04-22-19)

Bob resumes the study of the gospel of John. He is currently teaching from John chapter 3 where Nicodemus meets Jesus at night and Jesus explains to him what it means to be born again of the Spirit of God. Bob interviewed with Jim Armstrong when he was graduating from college. They made an offer and Bob accepted their offer to be trained by them. He was not trained by Ford Motor company but by Jim Armstrong. There was an agreement to be trained by them. Bob came to be trained by them. The same thing is true with Jesus. You and I, born again in Christ Jesus, have come to be trained and equipped by Jesus to have our minds renewed and for Jesus to be our source of everything we do. You and I have come to be trained.

Bob George shares about the peace of God that surpasses understanding. There is no peace for the wicked. If you are enslaved in sin you do not have peace. Come to Christ to get his peace. Let His peace reign in your heart by faith. As a child of God, if you are choosing to live in sin, then you are not experiencing His peace. Put your faith in the one who died for you to take all your sins away, never to be seen again in the eyes of God. Put your faith in Christ to receive his resurrected life. When you do, you can walk in the life of the Holy Spirit living in you, who is your counselor and comforter. Therefore, keep your eyes on Him. Do not let yourself be anxious but talk to him along life’s way for you will certainly experience tribulation. As you trust Him, your life will be changed as your mind is renewed. Get to know Him by reading His word. In an attitude of thanksgiving and prayer, making your requests known to Him, He will guide your heart and your mind. Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 8 (04-16-19)

Bob George shared a message titled, “Are you prepared or are you scared?” Christianity is not a crisis relationship, but is a relationship based on preparation. Then Bob explains the armor of God, from Ephesians 6, the training equipment of a believer to stand in faith in the power of God and the strength of his might against the evil schemes of the god of this world, who is Satan. A believer is someone born again of the Spirit of God. From John 3, Bob shares what it means to be born again from above, as he continues sharing from the gospel of John. He will be sharing from John 3, where Nicodemus comes to meet Jesus at night.

Bob George continues sharing truth from the gospel of John. Bob titled this message, “Are you prepared or are you scared?”

John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but fear not [or be of good cheer] ; I have overcome the world.

It is not if you will have tribulation but when you will have tribulation. Each of us will face one or two or more tribulations. But rapture or death will come to all men. To many of us, death will come first. You will be absent from the Lord or separated from Him forever. If separated from God in death, then you will be in a place of eternal damnation along with Satan and his demons.

In this world you are going to have tribulation. Many people spend much time preparing for the things of this world. As you get older, there are those who prepare for retirement? Bob George shares from John 2 about the miracle of water turned to wine. This was Jesus first miracle when he started his public ministry at age 30. Many have heard what John had spoken concerning Jesus as the Messiah. They heard him say, “behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.” When they saw this miracle there were those who believed in him. For no one can do what he did.

Bob also shared several passages in the synoptic gospels showing that Jesus had brothers and sisters. John 2:12, Matthew 13:55-56, Mark 3:31-32, John 7:1-6, and Mark 3:20-21 all record that Jesus had brothers or sisters. How important it is to stand firm in the word of God for truth and not rely on the traditions of men. When people deny what is so clearly stated and obvious in the scriptures, then what other errors are people willing to believe. That is the case with Catholic teaching that claims Mary was always a virgin and also that Mary is a co-redeemer with Jesus. That is heretical teaching.
