Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P36 (07-08-20)

Synopsis

You are growing in grace, but you sense in your Spirit that you are not really experiencing all that God wants for you. You read about the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-24, and you ask yourself, “Am I really experiencing those things in my life?” If you are not, you ask yourself, “Why not? What is preventing me from experiencing what is truly life; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self control?”

Could it be you are looking in the wrong places? Could it be that you are still thinking like the world thinks, that money will buy you happiness? Why is it that the world seems to value people who are rich and famous, successful people, who are influential in the eyes of the world. In 1923, Bob George read from the Be Born Free gospel tract about the lives of nine successful men, and what happened in their lives 20 years later. They learned how to make money but they never learned how to live.

Now, you know that Christ is your life, and you know that this fruit of the Spirit is something only God can produce.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

This blessed hope is that what we hold onto, the truth we have heard from God and have put our faith in. This faith and love spring from the hope that is stored up for you. When you know someone who loves you deeply and perfectly, then you trust what He says is true. God has made known to us that He has taken away all our sins, that He has prepared a place for us and that He has already seated us in the heavenly places with Him. There is this hope, a certainty, a fulfilled promised, of being made complete in Christ. Christ will never leave you or forsake you. He has made every provision for you, both now and in a new permanent residence of heaven where there is no more sorrow, sickness, pain, sin or death. We have everything when we are in Christ. That is the blessed hope.

This body of ours we live in today is a tent, a temporary dwelling place for the Spirit of God living in us. We will get a new body some day. This world we live in is temporary.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P34 (07-06-20)

Synopsis

Jesus Christ truly is our only hope. No one can live the Christian life. We were never designed to lean on our own understanding. That is how denominations start, with all its various ideas made up by men. We were designed to acknowledge Him, to have the Holy Spirit of God living in us. Yet, we were born without the Spirit of God living in us. That is why God sent His Son to rescue us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. We were without hope, without God in our lives. We could not function as God intended. We were bound up in sin and death, to forever be separated from God if we remain in the state we are in, dead spiritually.

God sent Jesus to die on a cross to take the punishment of death for us. Only He was without sin. Only He had a life to lay down. Only He could be raised from the dead, for He had no sin of His own. Only He can offer life to mankind, for only He existed eternally, with no beginning and no end.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

Listen as others call in and thank or encourage Bob for what he is doing. Listen as another gives a gift of teaching materials on Victory over Depression to help his mother walk free from depression. Truth from the word of God through the Spirit of God shall truly set a person free. There is no boast but in Christ alone, for we all live by the grace of God. We all started out lost. We all have a continual need for our mind to be renewed. Praise be to God through our Lord, Jesus Christ. There is no hero. One person plants, another waters, but God makes it grow.

Depression can really have a grip on a person, where he or she is on medication or in a psychiatric hospital for even as long as 10 years. Many times, the real need is understanding the truth about depression, what it is, an emotion, and how our emotions predictably respond to what you are thinking.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P549 (07-02-20)

Synopsis

When you teach or serve or give or encourage, with whatever gift God has given you, you are serving the body of Christ. When you know the love of God for you, that while you were yet a sinner, God died for you, and grab a hold of that, that if it were not for the grace of God, there goes I, and realize God lives in you, you see changes done in you and through you. You learn tenderness and mercy and kindness toward others. You learn to serve one another in love with all sincerity, and that comes from God.

So when you see a talented singer on stage, and he has a weak moment and he stumbles on a stage, drunk, what is your heart attitude? Are you thinking of the reputation of your band or group? Are you thinking about how hurt and broken that person must be?

To help someone, it is good to be careful not to attack anything, what a certain program, such as Alcoholic Anonymous, may be doing that is not perfectly scriptural but is at least helping a person break a habit.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P33 (07-01-20)

Synopsis

This gospel of God’s grace, of Christ in you and you in Christ, your only hope, is nothing new. It has been preached by the apostles, and by men from generations past. Bob happened to find a book written by a missionary to India around 1929, that his wife Amy found, where the same truth he has been preaching has been preached. It is so encouraging to hear. God raises up men to proclaim truth, teachers na evangelists and missionaries, so that people may know God and His Son, Jesus Christ, to know eternal life.

2 Timothy 2:15
¹⁵ Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

When the apostle Paul says that Christ is your only hope of glory, what does he mean? When he is saying Christ is our only hope of glory, he is saying there is no hope for you. There is no way for you and me to have a relationship with the living God apart from coming alive to a living God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
