Man Has a Human Spirit That Needs Life

Man is not an animal. Man has a human spirit. It doesn’t have the Spirit of God living in there by default. Man still is alive to the things of the world, yet it is dead to God’s Spirit. Man still wonders about all things. Man is trying to find meaning and purpose to life. We look at money to find happiness. Yet that doesn’t bring satisfaction to life. Solomon said it is all vanity. Solomon had everything yet he realized it was all vanity.

Once you come to Christ Jesus, He becomes our source of contentment. Jesus becomes our peace.

John 14:14
¹⁴ but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John 14:27
²⁷ Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Give Thanks to God in Everything

It is so easy to forget. Paul reminds us again and again to be joyful always. How can we be joyful? First of all, do you have the Spirit of the living God living in you? Yes, you say. Then you are given the privilege of participating in the divine nature, the nature to be joyful. Why? What trust did you have for Christ to do for you? What was the biggest thing God did for you? He died for your sins, and indeed the sins of the entire world. Before you were even born, he demonstrated his love for mankind. He also had you in mind, in that while you were yet his enemy, a sinner, he died for you. He died so that the punishment of death required for sin was paid in full. He would bear the full consequence of that sin, and the sins of the entire world, upon himself, a price too great for you to pay. He did this so that when you came to see your condition of death you would look to him for new life. Faith in the Jesus of the Bible is Key to Salvation

Jesus lives inside the person immediately when they place faith in Jesus. Jesus will never leave a person no matter what. Nothing can separate a person from God. People think that people have to repent of all of their sins before God will give them eternal life. But the truth of the matter is that no one has ever repented of all of their sins. Repentance is such a strong word that people don’t even understand what it means. Repentance is coming to a totally change of mind in our belief system of Jesus.

When people “change their mind” God gives a person a new heart. They are a new creature in Christ Jesus.

Let’s join Bob as he answers questions from listeners all over the country.

1 John 5: 16-17
¹⁶ If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death.

The Fullness of the Gospel in all its Truth.

Many people have grown in some sort of religious upbringing, whether Muslim, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, or whatever it may be. But even if you have not, the celebration of the birth of Christ is a well known holiday throughout the world. You have probably heard about a man named Jesus of Nazareth who died, was buried and rose again. Even on our calendars is written B.C., meaning before Christ was born, and A.D., meaning the day of our Lord. So, the fact that he was born into this world is a well known indisputable fact. And, there is evidence that he lived, died and was buried. There are even eyewitnesses who testified of his resurrection from the dead. But do you know why a person named Jesus came into this world? If you were asked, “What is the meaning of the cross?”, how would you respond? If you were asked, “What is the meaning of the resurrection?”, what would you say?

Colossians 1:6-8
⁶ In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world – just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all of its fullness.

Have You Understood the Complete Gospel in All Its Fullness?

Many times people have heard a gospel as merely getting your sins forgiven. To have your sins forgiven is a necessary part of the gospel to be given, but it is at best a partial gospel. Yes, it is good news to know that your sins are forgiven. But as good as that is, to know your sins are forgiven and that there is no more sacrifice for sins (Hebrews 10:16-18, 1 John 2:2 NASB), the full and complete gospel is that God sent Jesus to die for your sins in order to give you new life through His resurrection, to live His life in and through you. True salvation is not merely getting your sins forgiven but the receiving of new spiritual life in you, God’s life.

Romans 5:10
¹⁰ For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
