God Did Not Give us a Spirit of Fear, But One of Sound Mind

~ God gave us a mind, and He expects us to use it. And if you are in Christ Jesus, it says He gave you a Sound Mind. Most people run to their pastor or teacher, to find out what the word of God means, instead of having it revealed directly to them by God Himself. When a person is born again of the Spirit, they have the Spirit of God living in them. They are not to be dependent on some pill to take away fear or worry, but learn to trust in God who is the faithful One. They are not to zone out on movies or listening to the teaching of the world on tell-a-vision, but take it to God for understanding and wisdom directly from Him. They are not to run to a local pastor or teacher, that quite frankly most likely doesn’t know God and is probably not even born again of the Spirit themselves, because a lost person will definitely teach a person the lies of Satan and the world. Perfect Love Drives Out Fear

Jesus Said, “Fear Not, I Have Overcome the World.”

~ Perfect love casts away ALL fear. Jesus is the perfect Love of God. We have nothing to fear about anything. Yet what have we seen in the past number of years. Fear. Fear spreading on TV. Fear when shopping. Fear of being too close to others. Fear of everything. Fear of getting sick. Fear of dying. Fear comes from the evil one. Fear is trumped up by Satan and the fallen angels. Fear also has to do with punishment. People fear God is going to get them for the bad things they have done in life. Fear of thinking that God is going to grade on the curve, and that God is going to be somehow pleased with them if they do more good works than bad works, all the while never knowing for sure if they have done enough good things to outweigh the bad. But God does not grade on the curve. Only perfection will do. And perfection is only found in Christ Jesus. The only thing that will do is faith expressing itself in Love. The Peace of God

The Life of Jesus is Our Comfort and Peace

~ Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit, the one that would teach us all things and our advocate, and the very Life of Jesus. And that happened on the day of Pentecost, and on the very day that we placed faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit came to indwell us too. He is our Comforter. He is our Advocate. He is our Peace that lives inside of us. He is our Eternal Life. We tend to forget that God is living in His temple today (the body of every believer is the temple of God). He is always there to comfort us no matter what we are going through. He will be right there with us through the storms of life. So stand firm on Jesus, who is our everything. Point people to Jesus, not to a particular verse of the bible. Many times people will camp out in the Old Covenant, and will forget which side of the cross they are actually living on today.

Thank Jesus For Everything

~ Our confession of faith means to thank Jesus for everything that he has done for us and for giving us life in Him too. Confession in Greek means to offer thanksgiving to God. When you are offering thanksgiving to God, you are agreeing with Him. You have accepted the fact that he forgave ALL your sins at the cross. You are accepting the fact that he rose from the dead. You are accepting the fact that the same Holy Spirit that gave Jesus life is the same Holy Spirit that gives you life. You are accepting the fact that Jesus now lives in you if you are in Christ Jesus and he is in you. You are accepting the fact that he wants to live his life in and through you. You are accepting the fact that you are the temple of God. You are accepting the fact that he has made you holy. You are accepting the fact that he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do Not Be Anxious About Anything for Jesus is Our Thanksgiving

~ Jesus is indeed our thanksgiving. Everything we have to be thankful for is found in Him. So spend this day and all the days of our lives thanking Him for what he has done for us. Share that with others. Trust in Him to lead you in all understanding. Trust in Him to lead you in all Truth. Trust in Him to live His life in and through you. Don’t fret about anything. For He is alive living in each and every true believer today. So give thanks to Jesus our Lord and Savior. Share his Love with others.

~ Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6,7

Thanksgiving P1 – Bob George (11-22-23)

Jesus is Our Thanksgiving

~ We have much to be thankful for today, but the biggest thing to be thankful for if you are in Christ Jesus is the fact that the Holy Spirit lives in you, gave you eternal life, and will never leave you. We are to focus on him, and his righteousness, and his life living in and through us. We cannot live his life, and he never expected us to. Satan wants you to think that you personally can live the Christian life. Satan will go out of his way to show you how to clean up your flesh. He will induce pride in you based on you thinking that God is pleased with you when you get this sin or that sin “taken care of” yet that is when you are the most vulnerable. Because there are people that go around pretending that they have repented of ALL of their sins when in reality they don’t have a clue what repentance really means. They have trusted in the teaching of man instead of the teaching of God.
