And wherever you are right now, we all start out the same way, without the Spirit of God living in you. That is we are born dead spiritually and are in need of new life.

When you are reading the gospels, you are reading a record of the life of Christ while he was here on earth. What was his destiny? He came to die on the cross and give you and me eternal life in Himself. In order to do that, He had to prepare us and show us what our condition was. He had to show us we are sinners. If we do not see ourselves as sinners, what would the cross mean to me? He had to show us we are dead. If I did not know I was dead, why would I need life? We are to walk by faith in truth. We are to walk by faith in Christ, who gave his life for you so he could give his life to you so he could live his life in you and through you. Indeed, it is by faith in what Christ alone has done, by his death, burial and resurrection that we have become a child of God. As a child of God you have been given the choice to walk in the newness of life, to choose to participate in the divine nature, who lives in you. As a child of God, Christ lives in you. Everything that is a characteristic of God; compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, is in you. You do not have to go get compassion or pray for patience. You already have all of that, who is Christ Jesus, living in you. You access Him. He is already there, in you. You clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. You put it on.

Synopsis

So we allow Christ to live His life in us and through us by having our minds renewed with truth, of who God is, so that new attitudes of heart are formed in us, the attitudes of servitude, of humility and dependency that are in Christ Jesus, and modeled perfectly by Christ as He walked on this earth, in appearance as a man, being God, but functioning as a man for our sakes. We imitate His faith, not His actions. Actions are a result of attitudes, a result of dependency on Christ, being internally led by the Spirit of God who lives in us. When you have the Spirit of God living in you, then you can hear His voice like a sheep knows the voice of a shepherd. As a new creation in Christ, we have been given the privilege to participate in the divine nature.

Now, we were not born alive with the Spirit of God living in us. We were born spiritually dead. That is why man feels empty inside, because he is. Synopsis

To the degree we grasp God’s love for us is the degree to which we can allow God’s love to be produced in us and through us into the lives of others. We are a conduit of God’s truth and grace, of His love in our hearts. As we receive from Him, that is what then spills over into the lives of others. We cannot produce this fruit of the Spirit. As we abide in Him, in the source of love, rely on Him, allow our minds to be renewed with truth, fruit of the Spirit is borne in our lives to the glory of God and the benefit of others.

Knowing this love of God is so vitally important. Until we know the love of God for us, we have nothing to pass on to others. For apart from Him we can do nothing. We were designed to be dependent on Him. God wants us to trust in Him, that He has given us everything we need for life and godliness. Synopsis

We will always be learning how to trust in the love of God. As we allow ourselves to get to know God better through His word, error in our heads will be replaced with truth. So as we rely on, abide in Christ, the life of the vine, who is Christ, will produce in us and through us the fruit of the Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Like a branch, we cannot produce such fruit, but we can bear fruit, as we remain connected to the head, who is Christ. You are the church, you who are in Christ Jesus.

The Spirit testifies with our human spirit that we are children of God, by which we cry “Abba, or Daddy, Father.” That is our true identity, a child of God, not Baptist, or Presbyterian, or whatever label you put on yourself. Those are not identities God gave. Those are identities men give. Denominations may be teaching truth or they may be teaching error. How do you know? Synopsis

So often in our lives, we have been taught so many things that are just errors from denominational persuasions of men. Such pastors and other believers may be sincere and well meaning, but have not interpreted scripture correctly. But as you read through entire passages of scripture for yourself, allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you, you will begin to see truth that will set you free.

This is certainly true when it comes to teaching on the Lord’s supper. So many times, people are scared to death to even take the Lord’s supper for fear they have taken it in an unworthy manner, and therefore, will heap judgment on themselves. Oftentimes, people will introspect and even ask God to forgive them of their sins. This shows a huge lack of understanding on several fundamental truths, and how a misinterpretation of a passage of scripture has prevented thousands of people from celebrating the new covenant we are under today.
