Synopsis

Bob received calls from several callers, asking common questions asked in the world still today. Danny asked, “Do you believe in the Trinity?” John asked, “What does Romans 8:17 mean that ‘we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory’?” Sam essentially asked, “What about the person who has never had the opportunity to hear the gospel message?” You may have heard a similar question, “What about the heathen in Africa?” From the scriptures, Bob explains the Trinity, that God is the Father, God is the Son and God is the Holy Spirit but there is only one God; about the sufferings of Christians, that we do not look for suffering but sufferings will inevitably come, and that there is no person who has not heard but even if there was, we leave that decision to God, who will do what is right in accordance with who He is, a perfectly loving and just God.

Sam also asked a more specific question about the Muslim who has never heard, since he was just raised Muslim all his life. I Once Was Blind Now I See


Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 47 (07-17-19)

Synopsis

Bob George finished the story of the account in John where Jesus healed a blind man. The Jewish leaders of the days attacked both Jesus and the man once blind but now can see. All they could see was a violation of their law, of breaking the Sabbath by spitting on the ground, making mud, and washing the man’s eyes on the Sabbath. Everyone is born spiritually blind. Jesus came to make the blind see. Bob shared his own testimony of those early years he was blind and lost. He also shared the testimony of John Wesley, a pastor and minister who was blind and lost, sharing simply what he thought was true but was blind until the day he understood justification by faith alone in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ upon hearing a message from the book of Romans. Prior to that, the teaching he was under was by blind men. Prior to being born again, he thought he could see. He was blind thinking he could see. So too all of us once were.

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 46 (07-16-19)

Synopsis

We are learning about this man named Jesus. People call in on a radio, talking about different names of God, some saying, “Praise Yeshua”. There are all kinds of names of God. Some call him Elohim. The Jehovah Witnesses call him Jehovah and the Muslims call him Allah, but if you look at their description and compare what they say to what is written and revealed by the Spirit, they are pointing to a different Jesus or someone who does not fit the description of the same God recorded in the bible. There are different names that can point to the person, Jesus, and will fit the description as revealed to us by the Spirit. The name of Yeshua points to Jesus. I do not care who you call him. It means who the name belongs to. People get all caught up in what the name is in Hebrew. We get all caught up in incidentals. But if the name you use points to someone other than who the real Jesus is, God in the flesh, who died, was buried and rose again, and instead points to someone who is not God or did not do these things we read about in the scriptures, then they have a different Jesus or someone who is not God at all.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

We have to understand God wants us to grow in the depth of the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, to get to know him deeper and deeper and deeper, to know the height, width, depth and breadth of the love of God and to know this love that surpasses knowledge so you and I can experience the fullness of God in our lives and be controlled by his Spirit.

Ephesians 3:16-18

16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

So many people are in bondage due to error, whether from legalism or from false teaching or harsh, condemning words they believed to be true. Todd expressed the error he has heard from Baptist churches, that is really double talk, that only leads to being unstable in all your ways and living a defeated life. How can someone say you have to confess your sins to keep in fellowship with God and also say all your past, present and future sins have been forgiven? There is so much incorrect teaching from a poor translation of 1 John 1:9 and from passages in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, where people do not understand the difference between the Old Covenant that the Jews and Jesus lived under and the New Covenant that Jesus spoke about. Because of such error, people are living defeated lives and certainly not the abundant life Jesus promised. Salvation is also not properly taught or understood.

Bob George continues where he left off in John 8. The Pharisees were unable to understand the language of Jesus. They had no room in their heart for truth. You either have the devil as your father or God as your Father. The devil’s desire is to steal, kill and destroy. The believer is set free from the clutches of the devil and is eternally saved. But the devil still speaks lies. He lies to us about our past, about our future, when we project such thoughts as if they are a reality today. So if you have resentment in your heart today, are you also worrying about tomorrow? Are you unable to let go of past resentments, hurts, insults or injuries? Is so, then you are believing a lie. Replace such error with the truth and the truth will indeed set you free. Let the words of Jesus renew you and set you free. Grab a hold of the truth and let His life be lived in you and through you.
