New Creation in Christ Jesus


Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 53 (07-31-19)

Synopsis

As you read through the gospel of John, you cannot help but notice the different responses to Jesus’ actions and words. There were many Jews who believed in him and later there were thousands of Jews who came to new life in Christ at Pentecost. Fifty days after Jesus ascended to his Father in heaven, he had told the Jews to wait in Galilee to receive the Holy Spirit. When someone receives the Holy Spirit, they are saved from the consequences of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is the resurrected life of Jesus.

When someone receives the Holy Spirit, he is said to be born again, having the life of Christ in him. He is also called a new creation, having the mind of Christ. Only then is a person able to discern the things of God. That is why when you read John 12:16, the disciples could not understand what God came to do.

16 At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that these things had been done to him.

Resurrection

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 51 (07-29-19)

Synopsis

Bob shares from the book of John where Lazarus had died. Jesus meets Mary and Martha. Martha tells Jesus, “If you had only been here, my brother would not have died. But even now, I know that whatever you ask will be done.” Here we come to see more about the person of Jesus. When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. Jesus is a real person with a heart. Jesus, being God in the flesh, was at His Father’s side, creating all that exists, the world we see and all of mankind. Mankind was designed to be created with the Spirit of God living in him. Here he is among his own creation. Imagine God weeping at the fall of man, seeing what was intended in his creation, knowing how man was designed to function, destroyed in a moment by the cunning of Satan, once known as Lucifer, a fallen angel, who has become the father of lies and has deceived man and has him bound in sin and death. Synopsis

Bob received calls from several people wanting help in communicating with people who have been caught in false teaching. People are not free to walk in the newness of life because they have not studied God’s word and allowed the Holy Spirit to teach them. Instead, they listen to the world and do not test and see if what people say are true. Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”

Brian asked in regards to his wife who has been diagnosed as bipolar. He was in need of correction in regards to going to the ungodly for advice and in regards to what faith is. There is so much false teaching out there that teaches that our faith causes God to do this or that. That means we are greater than God and He ceases to be the initiator and He responds to us. Synopsis

Several callers ask Bob questions pertaining to things they have heard out in the world today, and not just the secular world but the Christian world. Bobby called to comment on how sad it is when so many people listen to false teachers, like the Kenneth Copeland‘s. Bob commented that the real issue is where are people going to spend eternity. False teachers have just enough truth to draw people in to listen but intermixed with so much garbage that messes them up for the rest of their life. Is that just like Satan, who is really the one behind this great deception. Bob then addressed the real issue that each person needs to ask himself, “am I saved or am I not saved?” Bob then explained from Hebrews 10:26 what sin keeps someone from being saved from death and the real need of man to have new life in Christ. Bob explained that Jesus death on the cross is when the sins of the entire world was taken away. That does not mean the whole world is saved. Faith in Jesus


Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 48 (07-22-19)

Synopsis

Jesus walked on this earth to come to his own, to show them that he is the Messiah that was to come into this world but his own did not receive him. But to those who did receive him he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believed in his name.

Jesus identified himself as the good shepherd. He is the shepherd for his sheep. The sheep are those who hear his voice and believe that he is the savior of the world, the one who gives life to men. He came first for the Jew and then the Gentile. The Gentiles later too heard the message along with some Jews and believed and were saved. Jesus all along came to make one new body, the Ecclesia, out of the two.

Jesus also identified himself as the gate, the only way by which man can be saved. Those who try to enter any other way except through Jesus, Jesus says their father is the devil and said they are a thief and a robber. The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. End of the Law

Synopsis

Bob answered questions by two people today. Glenn asked a simple question but really opened up to expose a more serious problem in his belief system. For many years he was enslaved in fear and depression over guilt over a past sin of fornication. Bob graciously helped guide him to truth so he could walk in new freedom. He no longer needs to be enslaved to the law but is free to walk in the grace of God. Andy asked a common question asked by many people still today. He asked, “What is the role of the ten commandments in the life of a believer?” The short answer is ‘not a thing’. Bob also addressed a statement he has heard by many people, “We are no longer under ceremonial laws but we are still under the ten commandments.” That is totally false but is still being said today by many people. Bob shared scripture after scripture to more thoroughly explain.

In summary, the law is designed for unbelievers, not believers (1 Timothy 1:9). The law was added in order for men to recognize their utter sinfulness, their state of condemnation, dead in sin, that they are spiritually dead, so that they might seek a savior (Romans 7:7, Hebrews 7:19, Galatians 3:19-21).… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
